Little Jojo is the best character ever.

Other news I finished part 7 and started part 8.

Steel Ball Run SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really liked this part, I thought the concept was interesting and though it wasn't my favorite character who won it in the end I still find it that it was a good race.

I won't make a big post, or at least I'll try not to, so I'll just mention my negatives. I didn't like the way the horses were treated, as in they had no personality. They were just the transportation and were never given any sort of attention which I found sad. I also found it odd that none of the other racers directly attacked the horses until way later. That made little sense to me since if a racer loses his horse he's pretty much auto-disqualified anyway.

Second thing I always felt a lack of a "crew" in this part. Part 5 had the gang and part 6 had like 7 people. Here we get Johnny and Gyro, Hot Pants (kind of unwillingly), Mountain Tim for a short time, Lucy Steel and that's it?

Also was it just me or in the start was Valentine shorter and chubbier? Weird seeing him be all fit later on. Another thing is that I enjoyed having him as the clear villain since the beginning which was a bit different than part 6, but in regards to his defeat I found it a cop out to bring Dio and ZA WARUDO back and make them a last minute villain who doesn't even get defeated by Johnny.

Continuing on, I just loved Johnny's and Gyro's bromance, especially the little quality time moments like Gyro's jokes or song. I wish there was more of that than some of the drawn out battles some of which were not that interesting. At least the stands this time around were very interesting and really varied. I think there were only 3 "punch ghosts" in this part? And one of them was Johnny's who took basically the entire manga to grow into that. Tusk is a pretty awesome stand, I just wish Johnny had been more creative in regards to Act 3's powers and something that made little sense to me was why he only used act 2 as soon as he got it. I mean, I know it's stronger but it carries the risk of longer reload time. If the enemy was close which happened more than once, why didn't he just use Act 1's machine gun like fire to deal with the enemy?

Uhh there are more things, but this post is getting long. I'll just say that I thought it was bullshit how Gyro dies right as he gets his stand, admittedly his stand is pretty OP, but I would have liked to see him use it more.

Anyway, it was a nice ending and I enjoyed it overall. Glad to see Johnny walking again after that entire race but I just wish some things were developed better. I guess I can see why people thought the pacing was slow but reading it all in a row like that I thought it went nicely or even too fast at times. I wished it was developed more but now that I think about it I can kind of see that feeling with every Jojo part.

One thing I enjoy about Jojo is the fact that it actually ends unlike other big name manga, I mean yeah there are a bunch of parts but basically everything changes and it's not Naruto learning another goddamn rasengan or the Jojo equivalent of it.

Ranking time, only counts for series I've finished which are all of them except for 4 and 8. 1 and 2 based on the anime:
Joseph
Jolyne
Johnny
Jonathan
Jotaro
Giorno

Battle Tendency
Stone Ocean
Steel Ball Run
Stardust Crusaders
Vento Aureo
Phantom Blood

If I had to place Diamond is not Crash and Josuke in there somewhere both would make the second place on their respective lists.

As for part 8. I'm on chapter like 13 but I'm enjoying Josuke8 or er Gappy to make it easier. I thought he'd be really goofy based on his voice and some of the JJBA videos but he's surprisingly serious, formal and more analitical than other Jojo's. I'll only know how I feel at the end of this part but I'm enjoying it so far. Nice to have a mystery Jojo back.

Finally I have two questions for JojoGAF:

1. How many parts do you think Jojo will go to? I feel like 10 would be a nice amount but you never know with Araki.
2. Which song do you want a stand/character to be named after? If it's for a stand try to describe some ability it could have or something, just for fun.

Ugh I really wish people would stop posting Jojo on everything these days, it used to be amusing but now it's getting pretty boring.

2. Which song do you want a stand/character to be named after? If it's for a stand try to describe some ability it could have or something, just for fun.

I want Jojolion Kira's stand to be named "The Queen is Dead" & I want a Super Freak stand in part 8 also. Oh and maybe for Jojolion Yukako to have "I whip my hair back and forth" for her/his stand, but that's mostly as a joke.

I like to think chubby Valentine grabbed a buff Valentine from another dimension and yeah, while I thought the final Diego fight was super exciting, it was pretty poor treatment for such a great main villain. Also Scary Monster > Za Warudo.

1. I think he'll keep going as long as he still has a passion for music, fashion and all things manly/sexy
2. Needs to be a Yes/Roundabout stand. And not something obvious like spinning powers or the like.

Any news on the game?
Not really. Last week, Namco Bandai posted a press release with this:

Stylish fights, colorful effects, original Stands and a high skill-cap fighting game: this is what awaits JOJO’S BIZARRE ADVENTURE fans!

Developed by CyberConnect 2, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle will be hitting European and Australasian shores this spring.
Stylish fights, colorful effects, original Stands and a high skill-cap fighting game: this is what awaits JOJO’S BIZARRE ADVENTURE fans!

Chapter 7: Steel Ball Run – America – In 1890, in a parallel universe, the antagonism between good & evil keeps going on. This time, Gyro Zeppeli is the main protagonist and is helped by Johnny Joestar in their grueling fight against Diego Brando and the terrible Funny Valentine. Through-out this parallel universe, old character will appear to make or break our heroes’ fates…
Still nothing on a release date or the whole deal on if we're getting the DLC characters included.

Yes! Scary Monster was awesome, kind of weird that it wasn't technically Diego's stand just some weird effect of another one.

With that I'm all caught up with Jojo. Only series I haven't read would be 1 and 2. Only ones I haven't finished is 4 since I'm waiting for the re-translation and kind of 3 since there were a lot of missing parts when I read that one though I'm sure the anime will make up for anything that made that confusing.

Overall I'm enjoying Jojolion and I have to say that Joshuu is a gigantic dick and that his dad Norisuke IVth has some weird ass fucking analogies.

I really hope that rumor about Gyro being renamed to Jayro for the western release isn't true.
Don't worry, it's not. I posted the PR that talks about Part 7 which has the right spelling & not to mention that I saw footage of the English version of Johnny Vs. Gyro & it was spelled "Gyro".

Yeah, I'm pretty happy about my favorite part being (mostly) untouched. All that's left is a font change and I'll be a happy camper.

Kinda lame that Spin ended up being forgotten like Ripple.

Nah, at least in part 8 the spin ended up being useful right?

Here's some fanart by an artist (apparently e-famous back in Japan) called Takumi in Araki's style. The first image is a representation of a famous young Japanese Olympic skater. What the second references should be obvious. I have no idea what the third is referencing.

One day I realized that sadness is just another word for not enough coffee.
Less polished? His anatomy and shading are more consistent, realistic and detailed than Araki's!

a question regarding one of Josuke's (part 4) supers in ASB:
it appears as though Crazy Diamond can heal any opponent (the glow animation) just to beat them up again. does the manga also refer to this
?

Yes. Crazy Diamond can
heal/revert/fuse the things it punches. There is also a scene where it heals someone before it beats the crap out of them so the super is a direct shoutout.

"Don't worry, I can't beat you up, you're already injured and in the hospital"
*heals*
"Now I can"
*insert ORAs here*

Obviously not worded like that, but yeah.
