Episode 4

This was okay. I'm glad they're speeding through it, because training is usually pretty boring in shounen. Some of the fire/energy effects were really ugly too, just like the fire last week, lol. I'm not really that impressed with the overall episode, especially with all the censorship, but next week should be really good!

Episode 4

Nearly every line in this episode was overdramatic. I love it. Even mundane training became epic thanks to everyone screaming.

And then crazy shit actually happened in the last quarter or so. This pacing is seriously amazing. I was expecting this to only be a training episode, but we a full fight as well, and an entertaining one at that.

And what's great is next episode will be even better. Too bad about the censorship though. Starting to get a bit obtrusive even if I can still tolerate it.

Episode 4

Mixed on the episode, opening sequence with Speedwagon and his dialogue for his Mr. Joestar was my favorite of this. It made me chuckle immensely. Then every moment with Zeppelli was good. Something about the ripple effect when he did it and the water sparkled etc as well as when he did it again, and his personality makes him really good. Actually, one thing I must praise for the series is that it consistently has brought in good characters each episode now. I really have no complaints with Dio, Speedwagon, or even Zepelli. If Jo, Speedwagon, and Zepelli stay together then I actually think this may continue to be good enough that I will definitely end up buying on blu ray whenever it is released in the States. I really like them.

Ripple effect looks great and is just mindblowing good.

What I didnt like was probably that the action wasnt that interesting. I usually like action but in just about every episode, all the action moments have really only had their climaxes doing anything for me.

I enjoyed the episode, but it was just a little too fast for its own good i think. For example, it was just so weird for to see Jojo pull the rock out of thin air instead of just bothering to animate the scene where he looks down, sees the rock and picks it up. I guess it bodes well that there wont be any pointless scenes where characters stare each other down for a minute or so doing absolutely nothing.

Haven't caught 4 yet, but I wanted to say that I felt like the art style really worked in episode 3 so much better than it was in 1 + 2. It's like the shading and facial structure they were going for suddenly worked.

zepelli's rant about humanity and courage was so great.

i was weirded out by zepelli's voice at first. not what i expected. but i quickly got used to it since it sorta matches the eccentricity of the character

epi 4 had a whole damn lot of explanations though. it still had pretty good action but the explanations felt long and drawn out.

They skipped the entirety of the training, which had a battle with the Asian guy. Character got such little screen time in the anime.

I'm so happy with the pacing. It's obvious that they really want to do multiple arcs. That makes me all warm and fuzzy. Battle Tendency is going to be great, but the wait for Star Crusaders is going to be painful.

This week's episode was hilarious. Phantom Blood is pretty far along already though... which is excellent as it's just the appetizer until Battle Tendency rolls around. Can't wait for an even more hot-blooded JoJo.
