I'm in Michigan, so I do shows throughout the state, Ohio, Indiana, Ontario, and Chicago. There isn't one really big comedy hub here, so there's a lot of driving involved. It was much easier to keep up with when I didn't have a 9-5.
Ah, yea I definitely see that. That's both cool, and terrible. Driving for a hobby is pretty rough.
I've managed to put together a "group" of comedians here. Being in a college town (Manhattan, KS) it's a bit easier to recruit people to also do stand up, but much harder to get people to stick with it (or more importantly, get "good" at it). I'm looking into doing some traveling gigs more, I need to break away from the college demographic and see if I can make older crowds laugh as well.
