Hmmmm so Sasha has to do a tag match at Battleground? I wonder who her mystery partner. could. be.

It's probably Paige lol

Why doesn't the WWE just keep one championship belt and have the champ be the only one that can go on both show?

That would make the champion seem more special to me and you could have him feud with anyone. You could do the same with the tag champs and women's champ also

Because that means boring, shitty Roman and Charlotte would be on both shows and that sounds fucking awful.

I do find it interesting that they haven't said anything to do with the belts yet for each show. They're going to have to for the draft though.

I bet Vince hasn't decided what to do.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but I'd find it strange after We Are America. Seems inconsistent.

I want to believe you're right, but then you look back at his on-camera treatment of women, and I can't see him ever voting for Hillgawd.

So not worth it
So, about that wrestling Kickstarter a couple of years ago... Look isn't yet written, rewards not delivered, bunch of other promised stuff not delivered... bit of a shitshow.

Got this message after a long time of nothing today..
Hey all,

It’s been a while since I wrote an update. Usually I send out status reports to the others to keep things updated, but I figured I’d write an update personally this time as E3 and AX is over. So yeah, this book project has been rather problematic to finish due to schedule constraints. Basically, nearly a month after beginning work on the book I was hired by a Japan based video game company as a project manager, which is literally eating up all my time, both personal and professionally. This has involved relocating, travels, constant crunch times etc. That’s not to say work isn’t being done on this project, it absolutely is, just that it gets relegated to a few hours on Sundays if work does not ask for me to come into the office on that day too. There’s not much left to be done, most of the text is sent off and being put into InDesign, and I even sneak in talks with developers when I bump into them at E3 to get just a little extra trivia. I also discussed art with junkboy a few weeks ago, to move that part forward as well.

For those who just simply do not want to wait anymore, I offered refunds in prior updates and got those sent out, and that offer always stands. I am already stretched thin as it is, and can only offer apologies for the delay that has affected this thought-to-be-simple project. Even if everyone left, I would still finish it just because it’s so damn far along and it’s what I always wanted to write about. One thing I have to do, and I hope people will understand is that I have to close the Facebook page. This is not due to criticism of delays or anything, that part I can totally understand and deal with. Most Kickstarters deal with this all the time and I should too. The real issue comes with proper communication as I personally don’t have the time to visit social media much anymore due to work, and updates get lost because of the spread between these 2 platforms and no time to keep it maintained. Too much falls through the cracks.

So moving forward, I will ask Jon and Vivianne to be more active to answers comments and also get these updates out. And it is a promise, and guarantee, that this will be finished before the end of 2016.

At least refunds are offered, I guess. Not sure the product will ever come to pass, but it certainly doesn't appear to be the one people were expecting from the pitch, which is a shame, I was really rooting for this one.

Matthew though, is pissed and not a part of the project despite the KS giving the idea he was the co-creator. He posted this on his FB page today:
Time for a long-winded post about Wrestling With Pixels, sadly necessary because they speak as often as mimes and some people still think I'm involved with them.
So a few years ago (2013) a good friend of mine called Audun asked if I wanted to be part of this book he was doing on wrestling video games. The way he described it I'd be travelling around asking wrestlers about their favourite video games and it sounded like a bag of laughs so I said yes. I Tweeted and posted on FB about it with the necessary hype and this helped them completely overshoot their expected Kickstarter goal which they were going to use to make the book better. I think Giant Bomb and other gaming sites hyped it, everything looked good and I waited to be told what to do from The Boss.

Except not much happened and not much was said after that. Despite calling the people behind the book 'Botched Productions' with a logo and everything, Audun and a team I was never introduced to or given the details for spent the next few months ignoring me. I got annoyed and was eventually told everything's OK, it's just taking time how dare you ask I'm your friend I'm just busy busy busy etc. and I believed it and typed up something about Pro Wrestling NES and Tecmo Wrestling for them.

More time passes and I'm twiddling my thumbs like Homer Simpson on the roof and the WWP page posts less and less. This is weird as Audun was one of the people that taught me how important staying on top of social media was when I first started doing this. So it's weird that the guy who told me it was important is now posting nothing. Where's the photos with AJ Styles, Mike Quackenbush and all those other names that were listed when this project was announced, playing No Mercy and being happy? Where's the contributions from Two Best Friends Play and Joe Gagne? The list of photos reveals two promo images on the FB. I know if I'd interviewed the then-NJPW champ I'd have posted about a dozen photos of it so the world knew I'd done it.

It's a weird thing when a trusted friend fucks you over. When a deadline gets missed you don't think much of it because they've been good in the past. Second deadline, eh no-one's perfect. By the time the fifth one's passed you begin to suspect. I wouldn't care but I gave my word and told people THIS'LL BE GREAT, AUDUN'S WORKED FOR DESTRUCTOID, HE CAN BE TRUSTED. And because I post on FB and Twitter and they've gone quiet, people message me to ask WHERE'S THE BOOK YOU THIEVING CUNT and who can blame them? I'd tweet everyone I knew if I'd spent money on an invisible book. I send those people Audun's way.

And then I happen to be at the Superbyte Festival in Manchester enjoying chip-tune music when a mutual friend tells me Audun's in Manchester. A guy who lives in Norway has travelled to the North of England where he knows I live and didn't contact me beforehand? Well now that's a bit odd. A quick message and he replies saying yes he's here but too busy to say hello. What's he doing, signing peace treaties?

And even then, I resisted posting stuff because of my previous friendship. Maybe my poor friend was attacked by Samoa Joe when he said Fire Pro was over-rated and he's recovering. But then all sympathy disappeared today when they posted an update on the Kickstarter page. You'd think this be a positive thing considering they're about as common as unicorn shit, and they're offering the chance for refunds to people who ask for them.

What's wrong with that you ask? Well a Botchamania fan messaged me telling me after asking the WWP page about the refund, they were directed to here. Maybe they meant the Botched Productions page (which doesn't exist) or maybe Audun or mini-Audun or whoever the fuck is running that page is telling people they should come to me for refunds.

Maybe they don't mean that and I'm over-reacting but just in case there's any doubt I HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE PROJECT. I haven't seen or had access to any money or interviews with wrestlers or any fucking thing since this started three years ago and I'm sure as hell not going to start refunding people. I'm lucky enough to make enough money off of Patreon without feeling the need to fuck over 542 people for $26,278 so let's nip that on the bud straight away. I refunded a guy at MAGFest earlier this year because I felt guilty but enough stockholm syndrome shit, I'm not going to feel bad when the people you want to speak to are very contactable via Kickstarter, Twitter, FaceBook.

I'm not telling you to get a refund, maybe it'll come out and it'll be the greatest book since A Tale Of Two Cities. All I can tell you is that I'm very very sorry for hyping this project that's been in development longer than Mighty No. 9 but I'm not the person to speak to about this.
tl;dr i have no idea if WWP has produced anything in three years and now they're maybe telling people to come see me for refunds. get to fuck.

Probably a misunderstanding about the refunds, we will see. But woah on the misleading pitch, that irks me something fierce.

John Cena on Trump's Muslim ban said:
This is brash, this is bold, and this is brash. I’m with you, I don’t know how it works out. The last time we did anything like this was in World War II, and that was one of the more reprehensible acts by the United States of America. “We are the melting pot, except for you.” That does not go along with our DNA. Trump is being trumped, there’s no other way to say it.

I might get banned a little early for posting in a Kotaku topic on gaming-side, but dammit, I feel very strongly about helping people with disabilities.

If it happens, know that I will return (I can't imagine it'll be a perm) and carry out my end of the CM Punk bet.

I urge everyone involved to not follow through on this dumb as fuck bet.

Seriously. It's dumb.

Oh its set in stone, pal.

High stakes for the most hated man in sports entertainment, CM Punk! It's gonna be an amazing, fun spectacle.

Despite betting on Punk to win, I RECKON he'll tap in the first.

Nah the division was actually pretty good before WM, no idea what the fuck happened after it though

What happened was they had planned for six months to crown Sasha at WM in a one-on-one match, and then Becky got so over that they couldn't help but put her in the WM match, but they still want Sasha's crowning moment to be a big one-on-one thing so they pushed it to the next "big" show in Summerslam without much planning on what to do in the meantime.

There's a guy called Meat? Just Meat?

And he's up against Test. It's like the two concepts of wrestling in Vince's mind are in a match against each other.

His finisher though, The Meat Grinder. It's so great, his dad had to be crying watching his son as a performer though.

Apparently, no one in the world of wrestling matches the in-ring technical skill of Triple-HHH.

Wow, I didn't know pastebinning was so incredibly frowned upon on GAF

It really should be

because Evilore has a script in place through viglink that gives him revenue on clicks to any site, so that's taking money out of his pocket

Also it's not too tasteful

The dude who made that Kotaku thread got permajuniored. I think that's a little excessive, the guy probably just didn't know that was a no-no (heck, I didn't). Oh well, that thread deserved to be nuked anyway.

Long heel reigns seem to become unbearable towards the end. This one is no different and there's no real heat, just boredom.

Becky should have won the title at the Rumble
