Gabe putting himself over

The mind-blowing 2016 continued yesterday. In an unprecedented move, Paul Heyman offered Will Ospreay a contract to join EVOLVE Wrestling during his "Inside The Ropes" live talk show in London. This was a complete surprise to Ospreay and reduced the young sensation to tears. The roots of this moment started after Heyman personally invited Ospreay to the event on Twitter. WWN VP Of Talent Relations and Heyman protégé Gabe Sapolsky then extolled Ospreay to "The Advocate." Heyman, seeing a perfect match between EVOLVE and Ospreay, developed the idea for this one-of-a-kind contract presentation. The result was another Heyman orchestrated unforgettable and business changing happening. What's next? Stay tuned....

He is the underdog story of the tournament. So I expected him to win and besides he is from China where wrestling is at its infancy. I didn't expect him to break out 450's and shooting star presses.

That looks like the kind of guy you boo La Sombra and other accomplished wrestlers over because you like your meme wrestlers.

Full Sail is getting a boner as we speak.

To be fair, there's valid reasons to boo Sombra as of right now. Like who thought overalls was ever a good idea, even for an entrance getup?

Also, Ho Ho is more like Liu Kang's brother at the beginning of the MK Movie. Stop it with those comparisons.

That part where he kicked out while smiling cracked me up, and Bryan was all like "oh he's just so happy to be here!"

I got grudge sucked!
Not getting the hate for the Balor Nakamura match. I thought it was well paced, nice counters, really good storytelling. What hurts this match is that its being billed as a PPV scale match in a crowd of 500. Everyone was dialed in tho.

I get that some people are tired of Finn because he's had no character/gimmick development since he came in but he's had some good matches with KO, Joe and now Nakamura, and yeah, he's had a few that were...ehh. But I'll count him as a guy that usually delivers. It will be interesting to see what the call up does form him as a character. I think the entrances need way more variety, and since Kane is already "the demon" maybe they'll tweak Balor a bit to liven him up

We’ve noted how Vince McMahon is up on AJ Styles but there’s more to it than that. Vince is said to be extremely high on the former TNA World Heavyweight Champion right now and recently made the comments that he wishes they would’ve signed him 10 years ago.

At the same time, Vince is said to be down on Roman Reigns like never before, mainly due to the WWE Wellness Policy violation. Multiple sources note that this was the worst possible time for a Reigns failure as Vince was already starting to sour on him. Vince and other officials are more open to giving Reigns’ push to someone else, like Styles or Seth Rollins.

Vince is also high on Rollins, but that’s nothing new, and there have been talks of Seth and AJ being the new faces of RAW and SmackDown when the Brand Extension kicks in, not John Cena and Reigns.

On a related note, Finn Balor is scheduled for a huge push when he comes to the main roster this year. It will be interesting to see how long that push holds with Vince as we know Balor has Triple H’s full support.

I didn't think it sucked, but I was very surprised at how it never got to another gear. I daresay Austin Aries vs. Nakamura was better, and Austin Aries is terrible at everything he does. This really has me rethinking my love of Fin.

Rethinking that should make you rethink your love of Eddie Edwards, too, breh.

Yeah, Balor sells merch and had a successful NXT run so pushing him on the upper card is not a surprise, its more, what will they change or tweak about him. I doubt the "Balor Club" tee shirts carry over. I'm sure he'll have some form of spooky entrance guy as part of his gimmick but I wonder what else they have in mind.

I'm going to NXT Brooklyn and all I wanted was
Joe vs. Nakamura
so I'm fine with it looking like a one match show (I'm sure
Asuka vs. Bayley
will be good too but it's been done already)
