Do they have to? It would seem as if the only company they'd have to negotiate with is Shueisha.Helena said:This better have some Hakusho lovin'. Also what are the chances of this coming to the US? I don't see NoA fighting Bandai, ADV, Viz, Funimation & possibly DiC to allow it come over in proper form.

I'm not sure, but I imagine that when you get to be a superstar creator like Toriyama you can pretty much set the rules for retaining ownership. No idea how it all works though. I'm just going off the fact that a host of studios are credited in that ad.soundwave05 said:So in Japan the individual creators of these franchises own the characters?

Imagine Jump Stars + SSB + Mascots from other Japan companies (sega, konami, capcom) in a Revolution game.M3wThr33 said:You realize if this succeeds (Which it will), then Nintendo will combine the two franchises.
Jump Smash.
I swear to god, that game would outsell everything on the planet. You'd buy two copies because it's so hot.

Tey revolutionary gameplay!
NOT!
It doesn't look promising at all.
Naruto + one piece ?? ... that's GIGAton.JasoNsider said:You guys can talk about the Anime influences all you want, but at the end of the day I'm concerned about the gameplay. In this case it looks promising. If it looks to play like Smash Bros. and comes from the Smash Bros team, it could be my first import ever.
For those that reside in Japan: how big of a splash do you suppose this will make? I know Jump circulation has smashed records and such, but if it's as big as I suspected, could this really be Japan's "Megaton"? When I saw this, my first thought was "So, Japan asplode?"
PSP = impossible unless Nintendo goes 3rd party.Timbuktu said:Is it possible for PSP or home consoles to get something similar? And is Dec 18th the release date?

Most DS games seem to be going for 2D actually. Which is nice given it's capable of decent 3D (unlike GBA).btrboyev said:I'm glad they went with 2d
Yeah, CPS2 & CPS3 would be no problem at all (except maybe storage for CPS3 games, though that won't be a problem next year when 256MB+ cards are available). Naomi games (MVC2, CVS series, etc) could be difficult if they used 3D BGs but those could just as easily be replaced with bitmaps. The DS screen layout seems almost perfect for Marvel Vs Capcom imo.btrboyev said:i want some capcom fighters for DS, surely it could handle them no problem.
