Jump Super Stars (NDS): first screen shot

hrm. a bunch of one piece games.

re: dragon ball licensing, yes, funimation owns the licensing rights in the US. their logo is on the cover of the budokai games, you'll notice. atari has the exclusive rights to publish DB games in the US -- this is why bandai never reprinted DBGT after it got popular (legally, they couldn't.) the recent reissue came from atari (presumably after the rights to the game itself lapsed back to bandai japan and atari was able to license it from them. they had long since put it out in europe.)

so yes, it's possible for US-oriented licensing problems to muddy the waters considerably. but if anyone can get that sorted out, i'm sure it's nintendo.

Slightly off topic but still Shonen related: Can anyone translate one sentence on the Prince of Tennis DS page for me? I need to know if it supports single or multi card multiplayer.

Thanks!

Oh yeah, let's use the second screens for comic-style conversations!
Tey revolutionary gameplay!

NOT!

It doesn't look promising at all.

:lol :lol :lol :lol

Is the new requirement for people joining this site that they have to be HORRIBLE at trolling Nintendo?

That game looks like a lot of fun. I don't know what else I can say about it, other than that using the bottom screen for summons and what have you may not have a lot of gameplay functionality, but it is pretty awesome.

There most likely be characters from more games but i really want to see characters from Shonen jump and the monthly shonen jump!

Shaman King I agree on! It'd be cool to see those characters. Also heck, if ichigo100% can be in it then so can Prince of Tennis and Eyesheild 21. Also YuGiOh should be in it, especially characters from the ancient egypt ark (final ark). Kinnikuman would be an obvious choice to add, plus Beat the vandel buster, dragon drive, Black Cat and Bleach. Also older series should be present like Zombie Poweder, Sandland, Yu Yu Hakusho and Rouroni Kenshin! Some nintendo characters would be nice, like the original ssb characters +marth (because the fire emblem comics are serialized in the monthly shonen jump in japan).

Liscensing in the US shouldn't be too much of a problem because Viz (the company that distributes the us jump) is owned by Shueisha now! The only problem would occur in getting US voice actors...

:lol I was thinking about Yu-Gi-Oh and how they would do it. I'd much rather they'd put in a monster from the series rather than a character. Black Magician works fine. Though the pharoah arc characters would work too. :lol Either way, I would still find it an odd addition, but I would expect it's coming. :P

If Nintendo characters were secret unlockables then this game would probably be the true 'Megaton.'

Nintendo + Shonen Jump > *

Can't wait for this game at any rate. Bleach, Kenshin, Hakusho, hopefully they'll make it in.

So any word on when it's supposed to be released?

Probably the same way they're doing the DN character... human character with a floating assistant creature.

Also, I don't think Bleach will be in this - since the PSP is getting a fighting game out of that series.

Rock Lee! He's fighting Naruto. I think the computer is controlling him. I don't see a player number marker on him. Maybe this game will have 8 player battles? That would rock.

I wonder if they'll make some kind of manga or anime to help promote the title...

That would be brilliant.
