I love Excalibur & Chuck Taylor's reactions at the announce table in the back of the shot - the match was so damn awesome, Steen has been on fire for a year and a half now, and Tozawa has just become so amazing during his US stay. Sad that his tour is over, although he's having a huge match vs SHINGO back in Dragon Gate which should be excellent.

Just watched Superstars. Damn, when was the last time a non-returning superstar got a pop like that?

Same here and agreed, the pop was huge. I cannot remember the last time a crowd really got into a match (went fairly quite before the finish though) that passionately. PPV like pop between two massive draws rather than two low cards on the C show

A wrestler goes to his hometown and gets a pop? This is unheard of
A guy who only gets featured on Superstars or random backstage segments that normally makes him look like a joke gets cheers over everybody else on the "A-show"? Yeah, that's him.

They dropped the ball when R-Truth was out there waiting for John Morrison to come out. Perfect opportunity to turn Zack face and have him battle Truth for a while, let Ryder get some offense in, but have Truth hit his random finisher he adopted to go into Capitol Punisher with at least some Raw victories (what's he have, one or two singles wins since turning?).

Josh Barnett, instead of the usual open press workout before his Strikeforce fight, had a full-on wrasslin' match, and it was AWESOME.

Good promo too.

Why is it that the best five minute match I've seen all week was a joke to promote an MMA fight?

oh my god

Josh does shoot style better than anyone since, I dunno, Takada. He would have been so huge in UWFi.

look at those stiff chops!

fuck me, now he's channeling Stan Hansen

TNA has released Desmond Wolfe aka former ROH champion Nigel McGuinness, PWInsider.com has confirmed.

Wolfe, who had been sidelined for some time with a health issue that prevented him from wrestling for the company, was last seen appearing as the TNA Xplosion Commissioner, setting up a tournament on that internationally syndicated series.

After a stellar run with Ring of Honor that included a ROH title run, Wolfe was slated to sign with WWE but the company opted not to sign him after he went through their screening proces. TNA immediately snapped him up and put him into an angle with Kurt Angle that led to some great matches.

Wolfe was put on the back-burner when the Bischoff-Hogan regime entered the picture and never regained his momentum in the company before injuries forced him out of the ring.

In recent months, he has been writing a sitcom and has also been doing stand-up in the Orlando area.

Shitty deal. By all rights, Nigel should be a star on the same level of CM Punk.
By all accounts, Punk should be a bigger star. So should, perhaps, guys like Jack Swagger, Dolph Ziggler, Kofi Kingston, and Daniel Bryan. Shit booking, you know the story. Shame about Nigel.

The person I am subscribed to on Youtube who uploads Smackdown, NXT, and Superstars uploaded this past week's TNA episode and I'm watching now. The triple threat of Kash-Aries-Rave was excellent. Type of match the crowd craves, too.

Nice going TNA!

I guess that secures Blubber Rey's airtime for the next 12 months. YAY!
From what I understand they wanted to give him the chance, but his medical conditions prevented him from returning.

I can still remember his debut and the months following. Had some amazing matches with Angle.

Good on him for finding success in another career path I guess.

God, I would love to see Nigel back in ROH. Even if he can't wrestle, he'd be great in a commissioner type role, or maybe as a commentator. Kevin Kelly tweeted that ROH would be looking for a new colour commentator to partner him for the upcoming TV show, I think that Nigel & Kelly would make a pretty awesome pairing.

I really don't see what people see in these two at all, especially Swagger. He screams boring to me. I do enjoy Daniel Bryan and Kofi is passable, nothing special. The current roster is as weak as ever and yes, Punk should be the star of the WWE now. He has all the tools.

Also, who the fuck wants to watch Gunner? and who the fuck is pushing him. I think people care more about Charlie Haas than Gunner.

I think they just need more charisma outside the ring. I think they're both decent wrestlers and can hold their own, but I just don't see them being legitimate entertainers.

Indeed, even if he can't return to actually wrestle, I'd love to see him in some capacity.
He's great on the mic and has a very good presence on tv.

But if the people in charge at had to chose between Nigel and that love sponge retard, we both know who would come out on top. SMH.

To be honest, I can see the potential of Gunner.
But the way he's presented right now isn't really what I'd go for myself.

Really? I don't see it. His look and style is generic, nothing special in the ring, no mic skills and should have been kept on as a security guard jobber. TNA should be pushing Joe, not Gunner.

Well I agree with that last part.
At least they got rid of the other guy...

I've never actually seen Gunner before but, god, what a horrible name.
But it makes sense because he served in Iraq and was a gunner or something, can't remember. :p

But I completely agree. Don't like the name and don't like his "persona" and appearance in TNA.
He does have a very aggressive look to him which I like though, but the way he's presented is void of any kind of personality, besides being an aggressive Immortal scrub.

Kind of makes the names WWE comes up with (Dolph Ziggler, Dean Ambrose, Mike McGillicutty, etc.) normal, but both are awful.

When is WWE calling up Seth Rollins? Needs more of the good talent showing up. Where is Percy Watson - wasn't he getting dark matches before Smackdown? They should team him up with Darren Young as they did in FCW.

I still have no clue what Gunner looks like. I always assumed Gunner and Murphy were the fat guys that were in Phi Delta Slam. Then I saw a pic of Immortal and had no idea who one of them was turned out it was Gunner or Murphy.

That picture above makes him look like he's jacking Punk's look.

Percy was touring regularly with the main roster for about 4+ months doing dark matches everywhere but seems to have fallen off the map since their Mexico tour right after R-Truth turned heel.

AMAZING hype video for Eddie Edwards vs Davey Richards at ROH - Best in the World 2011;

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZ9ETYFLdAk

Seriously, why can't other wrestling companies use story lines like this? Stories based in reality that have ACTUAL emotion. I can't wait for this match, it's going to be awesome, although I'm really torn over who I want to win. Davey deserves the belt, but Eddie's run has been great so far.

His indy name was Phil Shatter. He needed to keep that.

Oh, I thought I recognised him! Saw him on an ROH show and in ECCW a couple of times, seemed pretty good.

you watch SAW too? That's like the #3 company around here cause it comes on in HD on Comcast Network at random times during the day. It's also a dude in SAW that thinks he's Jerry Lawler.
