Damn, that spot was crazy - thought Claudio was going to powerbomb King from the top at first, then Shelton comes out of nowhere and just suplexes both of them.

That was great bait and switch work they pulled with that spot. I'm pretty sure EVERYONE was waiting for an outside powerbomb, especially the way they were grouping on the floor, then Benjamin went nuts.

Possibly the best looking UFO I've seen Claudio hit, not quite as physically impressive as the Morishima one though.

Great match, everything worked really well and I thought they made ANX look like stars.

Ugh, I really have to stop clicking into this thread on habit. Managed to not see any spoilers in terms of actual results which is good. Been too busy today to be able to watch the ROH show. Will watch it at some point this week. Glad to see quite a few people are watching it. I'm out of this thread for now, enjoy!

Well it is now official. I must buy every ROH PPV from now on. That tag match was so damn hot
It certainly sends a message when we get a 40-minute competitive marathon tag team wrestling clinic from Ring of Honor meanwhile the WWE Tag Champs are so embarassing they don't even get booked in matches on TV in back-to-back 3-hour televised RAWs.

World Title match will have to be awesome to bring the crowd back after that lengthy tag match, but I'm sure Eddie & Davey can deliver. Guessing this is going for an hour draw or one turns heel on the other.

Who the hell are the WWE tag champs anyway

My point exactly.
It's Otunga and McGillicutty.

BTW, Edwards vs. Richards are probably having the "match of the year" right now. It's easily a finalist.

I haven't seen a heartfelt emotional post-match sequence to a title change like that since Eddie won the title over Brock.

And unlike that other POS sports entertainment company that changed a title for a "special moment" they won't pull the title off of Richards two days later.

Somebody link me up when the replay becomes available, OK? I'm very interested to see this.
Was thinking the same thing. I used to catch ROH when I could on HD Net, but this iPPV sounds fucking awesome. As someone who has become disenchanted and unimpressed with the shit, both storylines and actual wrestling, of WWE, I'm really curious to check this out.

QFT everything you said.

That PPV will get me through at least 3 months of WWE and TNA.*

*will not actually stop me from complaining during garbage segments/matches.

Sounds like I missed a great show. We're checking out the Urban Wrestling Federation PPV right now. It's incredibly silly so far, a minute and a half in. Uncle Murda was taken down by the cops.

...lol

"Abraham Lincoln was actually a professional wrestler. Little known fact."
It's a little known fact because he tried to get over on his own and Great Great Great Grandpappy Levesque kept saying he wouldn't draw and didn't put him on the daguerrotypes.
He was more over out of the ring, anyways.

For anybody vaguely interested in the NY area, the UWF PPV had an entertaining first match. It was really incoherently choreographed, but it was basically a spotfest with few botches and a lot of cool moves. There are a lot of recognizable people from the area -- it was nice to see Grim Reefer again. Commentary is a lot of F-bombs, but they do push the wrestlers and the moves, and they try to keep the story going with a ton of background talk.

The only real problem is that the promos are incredibly terrible, and they last an amazingly long time. It felt like half an hour passed between the first two matches!

Second match is a singles match. Bestia and ...somebody ("Billy Blue", it sounded like?) is going pretty nicely.

omg

Chavo left WWE but his rookie hasn't been eliminated from nXt

awkwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaard

WOW, Grim Reefer? Haven't heard anything about him in like five or six years. How'd he look?

Considering taking my GF to the WWE Sydney show. All she knows about wrestling is that it's "fake" and it involves the "Nacho Man". I haven't been to a WWE show in a while, will I be horribily embarassed?

Watched the ROH PPV this evening with a buddy and was pretty damned impressed. I thought the first two matches were solid, nothing amazing, but solid. After that, the rest of the show just seemed to hit on all cylinders, ending in the three title matches that were all just fantastic. Richards/Edwards especially was MotY material. Very impressed and EASILY worth $15 bucks.

If she isn't familiar with the business, the current WWE won't change her mind. At all.

AT

ALL.

It was hard to tell. The match was so catastropic, there were only six guys, but they were all doing high spots and all running around so much that it felt like there were fifteen men in the ring, so it's tricky to keep track of who did what. Reefer kept up with them, though. He had a cool flippy jump to the outside onto a pile of dudes, the usual stuff. No promos from him or anything. But he's pretty cool as a token white guy.

But Reefer is incredibly active in general. He does all the locals -- FTW, ICW, on rare occasion NYWC (though we no longer follow it, since it went way downhill a few years ago and never looked back), NJPW, PWS, Jersey All Pro, and so on.

BTW, this was a very LOLworthy PPV outside of the matches. It ended in random street gun firing. Still, even if it were all-around horrible, it was only fifteen bucks.

edit: Looks like we're possibly going to FTW: Summer of Synn on July 23rd. Reefer will be competing there. It's in Suffolk County, so if you're not at least in the NYC area, then it'll be an incredibly long haul for you, though. Also, Jake will be there.

Wait, why did Matt Hardy get suspended?
He showed up late to events and shows repeatedly.

The replay for Best in the World is up now.
