Yeah, not only that Dada wasn't exactly in shape either and Kimbo looked like shit as well.

That fight could have brought down a major shitstorm if Dada had died, he had three heart attacks in that fight, damn lucky to be alive.

How do you only give Jericho and Regal a few minutes to put on a good match? They deserve at least 15 minutes, even more so the finish was not the best.

Aiii

So not worth it
King of Trios is all women so far...

Kane should have never taken the mask off, last time time he was used properly IMO was either the 2001 Rumble or the original Elimination Chamber, when he was billed as a monster and lived up to it.

The week after he unmasked, where he wore the towel and had to be restrained with chains and accompanied by police officers I actually thought they'd revistalised the character personally - for the first time he seemed as menacing as he had from late 97 through to WM14.

But in the weeks that followed, they severely watered him down. I always thought that was a huge missed opportunity.

At the RR you legit thought he had it won and he was used the way he was supposed to be used. Idk why do they have a problem keeping a strong momster, they're the best characters. Especially the mysterious ones like him.

Dave Meltzer talks about the brand split in the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter:

It is still largely secretive, if things have even been figured out past the top guys, regarding what will happen with WWE talent when they do the brand split in July.

The most likely reason that the move was made, was because the USA Network was not happy with the ratings of Smackdown. The hope was that Smackdown on USA would do close to the numbers of Raw, particularly when it opened strong at around 2.7 million viewers. The reality is that WWE was not using as much primary talent on Smackdown, nor were they doing the obvious, shooting angles for matches on Mondays that would lead to Thursday. For wrestling fans, Smackdown remained no more important, nor mustsee, on USA as it had been in recent years on Syfy. What shocked everyone is that ratings had fallen below what they were a year ago, even with the move to a much stronger station. While ratings weren’t down from last year as much as Raw, the expectation was that a Thursday night prime time show on USA would do better.

Key to this is that, even though WWE will be adding expenses by going live, USA is not paying more for the increase in costs. It’s the first sign, while hidden from the public, that USA is concerned that the approximately $127 million they pay WWE this year for Raw and Smackdown is not delivering at the level they would like. Given that the key economic driver of the company is not the network but the television rights fees, in the long run, until economic conditions change greatly, ratings are still the most important barometer for the company, and they are consistently falling.

Yes, I have to say even though he's a Kane/Mankind hybrid, TNA did a good job in creating something similar with Abyss, until TNA gonna TNA then they fucked it up.

I haven't seen the whole Ricochet vs Will Osprey match, but I just saw that staredown at the end of that springboard backflip and it's the worst thing that has ever happened in the entirety of the business. Almost made me wanna quit watching wrestling altogether.

I thought Ricochet vs Osprey was just ok. Definitely not a match of the year contender. Osprey just looks like a goober next to Ricochet.

Jr asks Paul why he isn't in the battle royal and paul responds by saying, what do you want me to bring my telephone to the ring? Lol that was no gimmick, that was real paul.

I agree with this. I would strain to give it four stars, personally.

However, I won't shit on it for being "flippy porn" like some because I think there's a spot for it in wrestling, just like extreme/hardcore style, submission style, etc. Wrestling shouldn't be pigeon-holed into one style, or it becomes too many monotone.

I'm all for match and style variety but I at least want to suspend my disbelief to believe that the two wrestlers want to beat each other and win a match. Those two looked like acrobats trying to synchronize flips and coordinate a routine where they took the occasional break to hit each other so we'd remember it's a wrestling match.

Between Dragon Gate and AJPW, this was a real good week for wrestling in Japan.

I finally found Sato vs Suzuki, so I'm probably gonna check that out next.
