10/10 Game. Up there with Ocarina of Time as one of the best games I have ever played.

Has a scale of story and grandeur I have rarely seen pulled off with success in any medium.
Artwork and detail is amazing.
Food and codex deserve special mention.
Combat can get crazy.
Edit - OST is god tier.

Spoiler thoughts-

Velvets Pooka form is cute.

Everyone got various degress of fucked even in the true ending. In hindsight unfortunately not surprising given its Ragnarok.

Fire people and fairy people both get removed from existence because King Onyx is a giant fucking asshole. King Valentine (though he clearly had extreme mental issues), King Gallon, the three wise men are also giant fucking assholes. Odin also, even if he thought he was doing the right thing.

Mercedes. Jesus Christ her fate was a kick in the nuts, especially after her entire story arch.

The game is great, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's probably a 9/10 for me. The story is underappreciated. That art and music are great. Combat is fluid and fun. Its issue is the repetitiveness of levels and boss encounters. Vanillaware nailed it with this game, and I want more side scrolling action from them.

If anyone intends to play it, I recommend the PS4 version over the PS2 version. Basically all of my complaints were alleviated.

the soundtrack is awesome

I have to play it again.

Actually im playing vía ps2 emulator. But im looking to get the ps4 version.
Avoid the PS2 version it's very obsolete by this point and speaking as one who finished both versions, go with the Leifthrasir version (PS3/PS4/VITA) the improvements to the gameplay is so substantial it's not even funny (or fun) to go back to the simplistic and frankly very repetitive PS2 version, and Leifthrasir is often on sale especially on the big in Japan sales.

And it also contains original version

Hey OP, favorite playable character?
Mine is probably Oswald.
Mine is Velvet.

Mercedes.
Her story was a fantastic heroes journey from a princess who is not prepared to rule, learning how to rule, putting down a rebellion, to waging total war against her mother's killer Odin and winning. Until she and her kingdom died horribly because King Onyx is a giant fucking asshole.

All of the characters and stories were exceptional in their own way.

She has my favorite weapon in the game but somehow I prefer Oswald's fighting style.

Exceptional is certainly the most fitting word here because everything about Odin Sphere is unparalleled (unless you count other Vanillaware titles).
