I loaded up the first one. Played a bit, got bored, and then my desk started to melt underneath my computer, so I stopped and never had the desire to go back.

They have been used for other things, and though they are probably more expressive, I don't think they would look as good technically. Although, I'm saying this having not seen these in motion, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if they have the plasticine effect that the Project Diva ports do.

Tales is just as bad as FF for me. I've been meaning to buy Vesperia, but I got bored of Symphona, and Abyss. Graces was the only one I got into, and I still never finished that either, so I guess there's no rush to buy another and toss it in the pile.

I can't wait untill school starts up again and I have time for studyinggames.
