I sure didn't. I dont know why people are assuming this will be on XB2 because it isn't showing up on a search.. in all likelihood it's just been cancelled outright. Maybe it'll be resurrected some day Kirby's Airride style, but don't expect that to happen.

and I wanted to add this cause SO MANY PEOPLE RAG ON RE4's lack of shadows. LOOK AT THAT!! Doesn't even look like its got pplighting
MY NAME IS SPELLED NINTENDO BACKWARDS AND I FEEL INSECURE, SEE MY BASH.

Get a grip man. It is really fine looking, with or without shadows. So is RE.

considering the bright light is behind Kameo, that shadow is wrong.

Here.. shadows on the fence on the left of Kameo(as beast) fall to the right. On Kameo herself, it falls to the left.

awful. just awful. I was talking about PP lighting. Notice how the game has even lighting through even with lightsources - they don't do anything. Yuck.
 
Either this transition really made Rareware produce games at a much slower rate, or losing Nintendo really damaged the efifiency of the developer. In any case, this isn't good news. I love Rare's games and I really wanted to see more of its influence this generation.
 
Kameo looks fine, but I'm not all that wowed. It looks like a higher res game that would have appeared on the Nintendo 64 with a few more polys thrown in.

Graphics are just a means of conveying information. RE4 has great graphics, and yes - it's implementation of light and shadow is weak - but the overall game doesn't suffer from it in the slightest IMO.

I never complained about the directions of the shadows, but unless a game is supposed to rely on this as a gameplay mechanic somehow (such as a guard seeing your shadow and reacting) its not too big of a deal as long as it doesn't look dumb.

at least one made its way out the door and is AAA+ :lol :lol

I predict BIGGER BOOBIES and less generic art for Kameo ver.3

It looks like a typical cartoony Rareware game. I've played enough of them to know what they look like.

Yeah, those sharp textures, high polygon counts, lots of enemies, decent draw distance, good effects and recent effects (bloom lighting) just scream N64.

It seems to me you'd like to assume that everything is hunkie dorie at Rare. You'd like to assume that Rare's decision to plague Conker with delays and can Kameo is a well strategized decision that entails taking large portions of the staff and bringing them to XBOX2, where they presumably are functioning perfectly well. Despite the millions of dollars that are necessary to create these two projects, despite all the man hours, Rare made a concious effort to underman them.

I just want you to explain why that makes any fucking sense.

It's all the same art style that we have seen time and again from Rareware. It's a bunch of primary colors, same old kookie looking enemies and characters, yadda yadda yadda. It reminds me of Rareware games from the N64 only better looking. Sorry! :lol :lol

Darn it! Now, I won't be able to enjoy the game at all, because of the shadows going the wrong way!
 
I dunno what's wrong with some of you, but this looks great. Somewhat looking forward to this. If it is going to be pushed onto the xbox2, I hope that doesn't mean it's gonna be delayed another 5 years.
 
If it's true, it'd figure... I was interested in the game when it was a GameCube title and still interested even when it went Xbox. Sons of bitches.
 
....Yay for Rare.... Always pushing the visual envelope.

but.

Anime FanArt calibur character design ....... Honestly Starfox was the best thing to happen to Dinosaur Planet, which isn't saying much.

Do me a favor and pick the ugliest, most over-gamma'ed, poorly representative shot of RE4 you can possibly find in an attempt to illustrate your point. Oh wait.
 
Rare should make this a MMORPG for Xbox next :)


And you people really should not talk about what direction shadows are going, that takes nerdism to a new level.
