Kameo mini-blowout (new pics)

Check these pictures out. I searched high and low on GAF and didn't see these posted yet, but someone likely beat me to it anyways. But, here they are, looking very, very nice.

This game looks really good. The lighting, the grass, high poly characters - hundreds if not thousands on screen at once... (Orc battle is supposed to have over 3000) I can't wait to play it. :D

Apparently MS is really keen on releasing pictures from the Orc battle because there are so many things going on at once - but the regular adventure part of the game, from what I'm told, looks equally as good (if not a bit better, because it's brighter, there's less characters on the screen, etc).

Can't wait till November!

It looks really nice, but I don't think it looks like *that* much of a jump over the current best looking games.
it's all about art...come on, every game next gen can't have the same REAL look to it...i mean if someone makes a Disney game you want Mickey with real mouse textures on his ears? I mean come on, use the tech to get the look you want and use other resoruces to make the expereince as real as possible within the look you want...i personally think it looks fantastic and there are alot of next gen touches...

Exactly. This game does a shit ton of things just not possible on the Xbox. The grass, 3500 characters on screen at once, the lighting, self shadowing, the poly counts, the hair is VASTLY superior than what we saw in Conker and StarFox Adventures. (Wait till you guys see the abominable snowman character - WOW), the worlds are HUGE.

This game is gonna kick your ass if you like adventure/platforming games. :D

Very lush first shot, and the other shots also show more fiery/darker side of the game. Really looking forward to impressions about how it plays now, which has apparently been evolving in its own way as have the graphics.

GRASS!!!!!!!!!!

and good looking grass too.
I wonder if you can get the grass to burn and use that as a tactic to battle with?!?!? That would be truely a next gen thing to do...

This looks pretty good. The one question I have is will the grass move and sway as the characters run through it? :D

The grass does move and sway, but I'm not sure if it reacts to Kameo or the other characters specifically. I think the taller grass does, but not the short grass like in that battle picture.

Looks quite good.

I can't believe we've seen the same game on Gamecube, XBox and XBox360 hardware and it still hasn't been released.

I'm tired of websites posting 640x480 4:3 screenshots of what we well know will be 1280x720 16:9 games. They just don't do the games justice.

Its a game from Rare, are you really that surprised?

You were able to burn stands of trees down in Magic Carpet on 486 PCs about 10 yrs ago.

Yeah, I said the same thing.... in 2001. :/

I'm sure it will be pretty.. and have some creative gameplay. But I just can't understand why it takes 4-ever for Rare's stuff to get completed. RE4 took around 3+ year's to complete WITH drastic restarts in its design. ~4 to to get on a second platform. Rare's a huge company... but they don't seem to have the management to corrale them into geting games out in a reasonable time-frame. The chances of this game ever making a profit off its 5+ year development time are very low.

Is Microsoft banking on this being a luanch game?

RE4 took 3+ years with four completely different engines and builds being built. :lol

Wasn't Kameo originally an N64 game? I swear it was announced somewhere around 1999 or 2000 for the N64, then moved to the GC a few months later.

Platform hops are a bitch. See also: Halo - Mac --> PC --> XBox

ok.... sometimes Kameo (well, the girl, whatever the name) is having wings and sometimes she doesn't...
Power-up??

Nice art + nice grass = sales +1

You allow RE4 the same reasons of delay that Kameo had, yet complain about Kameo. It has switched platforms twice and undergone gameplay revisions at least once, most likely more than once from what I have seen and heard. It is a very, very different game then it started out as.

Also, yes Rare is a huge company, but it's a huge company comprised of many smaller teams.

And yes, for the last time! Kameo will launch with the 360 this fall. Jeeze. The game is nearly finished, they're just polishing up the graphics and fine-tuning the gameplay.

RE4 was not delayed. 3 Years seems a reasonable timeframe for making a game. Not 5.

As far as I can recall it began as a GameCube game. Nintendo had a playable version of it in their booth at E3 2001 back when it was more akin to a bare bones Black & White. From what I recall of playing it, it had about 2 gameplay scenarios, although the only one I can remember is turning into something like a flying cricket and summoning a pair of gigantic monsters to beat on a few enemies.

Suddenly this has gone from nothing to one of my most anticpated Xbox360 games. I'll definately be buying this at launch. That IS next gen graphics.

It looks really nice, but I don't think it looks like *that* much of a jump over the current best looking games.

WTF? Please. Xbox would probably choke on about 50 of those guys. 3000? Jesus.

No, I'd rather like to know what it will look like on my TV. I need to know that these games won't just assume you have a HDTV.

The game looks like a "present gen enhanced for next-gen". It looks good, it looks better than the present gen but we will see games that looks ALOT better than this one.

I can play that game too. Kameo was never delayed either. You can't delay a game if it never has a release date. :)

Also, to get technical right back at you, I would call not only shifting platforms but also changing the gameplay twice a pretty fucking huge production delay for RE4. It doesn't matter if it never had a release date, it was delayed.
