It's been quite the week for rapper Kanye West.

The 37-year-old star broke down in tears during an emotional interview with Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe yesterday.

And now it's also emerged he threw a strop on The Jonathan Ross Show, which is due to air on Saturday.

During a pre-record for the show, Kanye filmed a performance of new track Only One before Ross tried to have a chat with him.

But rather than speaking, Kanye laid on his back on the floor in protest and refused to say anything.

In a bid to get him to warm up and speak, the host went to lay beside him and joked about the size of his rear compared to Kanye's missus Kim's behind.

“If you want to spoon I don’t mind. It’s not as big as Kim’s but it is all yours," Ross said.

But he couldn't work his magic and Kanye got up and stalked off stage.

The dad-of-one also refused to sit in the backstage green room with other guests and didn't get a picture with the British TV host as is routine.

An insider told The Sun: “It was all very odd. Kanye was only there to perform and not have a proper chat but he wouldn’t even say two words to Jonathan. It was very funny when Jonathan got on the ground and lay next to him.”

This comes as the rapper got extremely emotional when talking about the "greatest fashion instructor of all time" Louise Wilson, who died in May last year.

Kanye attended the professor's memorial service along with the likes of Victoria Beckham ahead of London Fashion Week , and described his last meeting with his friend and mentor at London's Hakkasan.

"I think she knew she was gonna pass," he told Radio 1 host Zane Lowe, while describing her as the "baddest professor of all time".

Affectionately describing how influential that Wilson was on his life, Kanye was inspired with how Wilson pushed her students, stating that she was "notorious for not letting people stop at a 7 or 8," but would push for a 12 and create the likes of Alexander McQueen.

"So many students, they don't give it their all," he said recalling their conversation."

Of trying to get the best out of his daughter with wife Kim Kardashian, Kanye also revealed the advice that Wilson gave him: “She just looked at me and said: ‘Kanye, don’t clap’."

Kanye was then reduced to tears and could be heard breaking down during the interview, with Lowe asking if Kanye needed a minute to get himself together.

"That’s never happened to me in an interview before," he said as he came back on air and later admitted that talking about Wilson was "kinda hard for me".

At least you can talk. Who are you?
Eh, if he was a guest, I'd have a problem, but he turned up and did his performance. You gotta wonder why though sometimes.

he's starved for attention, if he's not in the media every so many days he has to do something. im sure he'll keep doing this until his album drops.

The loss of his mom really fucked him up emotionally man. He aint been right since.

He wasn't right long before his mom died. People just projected an image of him, through his music, of who they hoped him to be.

Reading articles about him in Complex 10 years ago showed a man, sickeningly narcissistic, that was clearly unbalanced.

Dude is constantly taking two steps forward and ten back. Everyone thought the Grammy moment was funny...then he did the interview and showed he wasn't joking about going on stage. Then he did a nice interview on the BBC, now this shit.

On one hand I think it could be a Kardashian impact: they no doubt have taught him how to maximize media attention. But on the other hand his awkwardness seems genuine. I bet the host or producer said something to him backstage that he perceived as an insult, and thus he decided to do this as protest.

He is a really awkward guy. His mannerisms in interviews will continue to confuse and amaze me.

The man is genius. He didn't do anything as crazy as these past few weeks in the past year. This is all to get people talking. He just does it in a Kanye way. Clearly he's out there, but he makes it work.

EDIT: might be BS?

The guy is an asshole. For the US members, Jonathan Ross is one of the best and most entertaining chat show hosts in the country. Guests absolutely love him and tbh I've never seen him have a difficult section with a guest, because they always seem to have so much fun. Kanye is just a spoiled little child. He was probably paid to play his song and didn't want to have to talk to someone without getting paid for it.
