an article from gamespot:

Karakuri is being developed by Fatal Frame series producer Keisuke Kikuchi, but the game is nothing like the frightening franchise that has scared Xbox and PlayStation 2 gamers. Karakuri features cute superdeformed-styled graphics that will appeal to younger audiences. The player takes the role of a boy named Nut and walks around with a group of eight small white robots called juckkles. The objective of the game is to solve the various puzzles and traps that Nut and his robots encounter.

The juckkles follow Nut around wherever he goes, somewhat similar to Nintendo's Pikmin, but in a more orderly fashion. The player can command them to line up into three different formations, allowing the robots to perform different actions that can be used to solve puzzles and beat up enemies. The default formation is a straight line right behind Nut, but they can also be ordered into a circular formation or a horizontal formation with Nut in the center.

It sounds kind of like the Clank stuff from the Ratchet and Clank titles...

But the concept art, am I nuts to get a slightly Homeland vibe off of that? I know it's not really that close to Homeland's art or gameplay, but something about the watercolor style of the pic...

I heard "somewhat similar to Nintendo's Pikmin" and shut off everything else, since that makes me automatically giddy! If it can even approach the awesomeness of Pikmin 2, Amir0x's portable gaming will be very pleased indeed!

Pikmin inspired title on the go? ok, way interested --- I hope there's some sorta independent sortie based selection ...... we need more stuff like advance-wars, you know - missions that aren't connected to a campaign.

It's an adventure/platformer game like Ico/Medieval. The difference is that you are surrounded by about 8 creature things and you can use them to get around. Like you can make a bridge out of them and then walk over them, or you can use them as a ladder to get to a higher floor.

Nothing Pikmin about it really.
