Damn this game! I finished my first route (Lilly) a few days ago and had to force myself to not start with the other routes. I have exams this month and it is very hard to concentrate when you are having feels... I wasn't prepared for this. Not making that mistake again.

Gotta agree with you. Shizune, herself, is a rad character. I slow down the text when it's just Hisao and her. However, all the other BS that follows along annoys the shit out of me. I'm not a gigantic Misha fan. Shizune's entire family is awful. The only redeeming thing about her story is herself, and everything else can go to hell. She had a lot of potential, I want to know how it went so wrong, especially when everyone else is up to snuff.

They consulted for it, they just concluded that it didn't really matter by the time they got around to it.

I saw some screencaps explaining Shizune's route pretty well, but I still think the storytelling is totally balls. Her route is also about communication, and in some ways it's worse than Rins.

She can't talk to anybody but Misha and Hisao, but they're both part of the problem, and she's driven everybody else away by virtue of simply being who she is. The route is essentially her trying to juggle the two of them in a way that doesn't fuck everything up, which is probably why the bad end is so much more crushing.

Unfortunately the storytelling is crammed with filler and given your perspective it's difficult to make Shizune's thoughts known.

The bad end, I suppose. I thought I would end up with Misha or something, but nope, everyone is just depressed all day everyday.

This path really sucks because you feel powerless in trying to fix the situation, because you can't change Shizune's character and you can't change Misha's feelings. Given that this path also had a lot less choices then the others, you just feel stilted at the end.

While the ending did hit me hard (music played a big part in that) I much preferred the other routes, and I'm glad I left Rin for last instead of Shizune.

I'm honestly shocked. Something from 4chan that's constructive and not pornographic or hateful? I never liked mai waifu type visual novels but I kind of want to try this out of pure curiosity.

I just finished Rin's bad end, the last bad end I needed to get (though I'm still missing a scene in Act 3 somewhere). Oh... my god. Fuck me. That was a fucking rollercoaster of feels. I already got the Act 3 bad end, and I thought that was terrible, but the Act 4 bad end if anything feels even more painful than that. Oh man... Rin... god damnit.

Well, I finished Shizune's route...Pretty happy to be done with it. Nothing really changed from my prior post involving my feeling involving her. The filler really hurt her story. I think I've played this game a little around 24 hours now. I need to take care of schoolwork and write out this personal statement for this bloody scholarship, then I'll begin to work on Rin.

Hoping I won't get too addicted and immediately do a replay of Lilly and Hanako.

The writing was really top notch, I'm still amazed with the quality of the story and the direction. I know is hard to compare with other games that focus so much on the gameplay aspect, but I can say for now it will be difficult that another game will beat Katawa Shoujo as my GOTY 2012.

Lilly is considered the best (second best imo) route, so this will lock in your decision for GOTY 2012. I know it did that for me after doing her and Hanako's routes. Rin is my final route, which I'll take care of over the next few days (going to my grandparents, I'll be playing this in the car). I don't want to be done with this game. It probably will get my GOTY for 2012, especially if Rin is as top-notch as Hanako and Lilly.
