Holy hell did this thread went nuts. Well, anyways, I'm really enjoying Emi's route, it's soo upbeat and enjoyable. Still on act 3, but it seems like shit's just going to hit the fan now, hopefully it's not to heart breaking. I can't take anything like Hanako's ending happening again.

The actual behind-the-scenes reason for a lack of a Misha route is that she wasn't one of the five girls in RAITA's initial sketch, and the dev team didn't want to break away from the few details he'd laid down on that paper.

Hanako's good ending sure did bum me out in the moment.
It destroyed me that she waited until the last moment to confront Hisao. I wish she would have spoken up earlier (making Hisao have to win her back over part of an Act or something) instead of letting the miscommunications build up to the point where their relationship got really bad. During that her personality takes a 180 degree turn and she can now speak in full sentences and show everyone her scars, but it's barely explored beyond the confrontation in the park and the short walk through town. Oh well, they way the writer made it mustered many feels from within me. It took me a few days to reflect and appreciate it. The ending pic was most definitely sweet.
I'm currently taking Rin's path very slowly. I'm enjoying her character a lot so far.

Judging by the fact that the original "concept" was on the back of a porn comic, plus the fact that the name given on the concept is considered un-pc in Japan, I've assumed that it was a fetishy/satirical joke. Considering that with the KS concepts there was Drill Girls Raita didn't take it nearly as seriously as the authors did.

I thought the journey was depressing, but the actual ending was a hopeful one between Hanako and Hisao. Though, I know what part he is referring to in regard to him claiming the end is "depressing."
In Lilly's path, it's revealed there are healthy students who also attend the the school. Remember, Yamaku is regarded as a top-tier high school in the game. The school only refuses mentally-ill students.

About Misha, spoilers of her, obviously,
she hasnt got any disabilty, and from what they say there seems to be also other people without disabilites in the school. Misha is there because she wanted to be a teacher for deaf kids, even before she knew Shizune.
they could have always had put a disabilty to Misha, like the one that Hisao has. That would have been really interesting, like her not letting Hisao know till some part of her route that has a disability, as you cant see it from first glance. Maybe something life threatening.
I would have prefered also they had done
jelousy between Misha and Shizune and the dealing of it, instead the shitty family part, it would have made a more interting route for both, and decissions to be made. The "lesbian" part is to similar with the mediocre school stories in animes

Its a maybe a little amateur and I like that the final one looks really professional (at least the girls, the secondary males, not so much), but at least Rin looks like a girl in this one (she looks like a girl in her scenes, but not the protrait, in the final game).

I would say that Hanako is even more adorable, Shizune looks terrible though.

Same here. She's got styyyyyyyyyyyyle.
I think I like old Hanako because her "covering" gesture looks more natural. In the actual one she looks a bit alien when she does that.

Agreed. I always thought her timid gesture looked a bit strange but I couldn't really place it. Hanako looks pretty good even in the alpha. The others? Not so much. Lilly looks terrifying :l

I thought it was supposed to look awkward in the first place: Like an uncomfortable attempt to hide her scars that ends up looking even more unnatural.
I saw it the same way. She's never ever been comfortable with her scars, so she hasn't developed ways to really naturally hide herself. She'd rather simply down or look away rather than face someone directly.

I downloaded this as soon as I had time. Ended up playing for 10 hours straight and like people in /v/ say: "I got 'feels'". I was gunning for Lilly and got her route without knowing. Got the best ending. I hum 'Moment of Decision' a lot during the day lol.

Its quite romantic in the way of literature, since her... "aura"... I use the word because its hard to describe it

I'd say that Lilly is kinda more of an ideal girl for a romantic person. Her route IMHO
is more of she being someone that doesn't rely on anyone and you can rely on her at the beginning. As the MC develops and learns to rely on himself, even if only at the end going to the airport, she can start relying on that special person and both end up relying on each other, but in an even way.

I thought people were kidding about how bad Shizune's route was, I was actually liking it during Act II. Then Act III happened, so much pain, so much awfulness. I just hope Act IV is better, since I can't handle this pain for much longer.
What the fuck is wrong with her father? No wonder why Lilly's father hates him.
This is un-pc in Japan!? Funny how things work... and too bad, it would have been interesting to see the reactions of several people (not only Raita), oh well...

This is a masterpiece, I can't believe it. It was my first visual novel, and I don't think it will be my last, but I doubt (m)any will live up to this one.
I have only finished the Emi & Hanako routes, I guess I fell into the Emi route through my natural play, rather than the clear choice which I made for Hanako.
Emi's route was very fun and engaging but also poignant. I really liked the effect Emi had on Hisao, making him face his heart problem, and act to try to improve his health and himself.
While Hanako's was sweet, heart-rending & tear-jerking. I guess it hit extremely close to home having two terribly shy characters try so hard to make something work.
I like that Hisao is really different based on player choices and each partners influence, it makes each choice seem more like his "emergent personality" in action, rather than a simple binary "What if" random scenario selection. Even though it's the player who really determines if Hisao is "ambitious", "protective", "quirky", "reckless", "fun", "shy" etc.
I wanted to delay my next route, but just writing this post has whetted my appetite for some more.

We probably won't get Japanese reactions properly until the translation project is finished, which will probably take like another year or so (based on numbers I pulled out of my ass). I will definitely be interested to hear reactions as they come in.
About an hour to make the base sprite, and like three to animate it even though I didn't actually change all that many pixels. Working out what looks good is hard as balls.

Playing the game I was thinking in doing a spanish translation, but went to the official forums to look how it works and read that there was not going to be an spanish translation because of how bad a group of south americans handled the demo translation, and only groups and languages that did a good work doing the demo translation are the ones to get translation done for the final game (from what I read, nearly all languages but not spanish :lol).
It sucks, because if I knew about the demo translation I could have done something during it and now we could have get the full game in spanish.
