how long has tom cruise been a scientologist and is there any relation between his divorce with kiddman and his religion?

After this question was posed ...

is/was nicole kiddman ever a scientologist??

... and with the answer being no, that was the first thing I thought. I mean the two never really specified why they got divorced, right?

If you can be converted to a religion, you can be converted to scientology!

Actually, that's not strictly right. The other religions have at least a fair amount of circumstantial evidence... maybe not the right word, but weight of some sort of evidence in their favour, be it tradition, number of faithfuls, or general ignorance about the key events of the religion...

So, you got evidene that Jesus Christ was the son of god? If so, I guess I can kiss my agnostic beliefs goodbye.

It strains the limits of credulity to think that somebody who formerly believed in the actual transformation of bread into the physical body of Christ when placed in one's mouth could make the leap into the delusion that each and every human on Earth is inhabited by thousands of Body Thetans (the souls of an ancient alien genocide by the galactic ruler Xenu).

My brother may call Christians 'sky fairy followers', but sometimes he's funny.

Is that what she (Katie Holmes) believes? Or is that actually the theology of the Catholic church (it's been so long since I've attended a Catholic church service)? Cuz.. that's definitely not taught in any of the non-catholic christian churches I've attended over the last dozen years.

We take communion very seriously.. but the transformation of the bread into the actual body of Christ? No.

It's a Catholic thing... "transubstantiation"

It was part of the original Protestant schism. Catholics believe that transubstantiation is a miracle, and occurs at Eucharist. Protestants reject this belief, but say that Christ's "real presence" is present at Eucharist.
