Killer Instinct coming to Xbox One

The Lead Combat Designer was the guy who made Hyper Fighting a Good Game but that's basically all we know. Cl0ck is involved but his presence did not turn PBR into an amazing game.

Ooh guess not. Hijinx Studios did the HD collection. I only asked because the HD collection was the biggest pile of dog anus ever made and I was worried for KI.

Which still wouldn't have mattered to KI. Like was said, it's a new team of new people hired to make the game.

The team is trying to do this right - the game was playable by the public the same day it was announced, it was brought to Cross Counter and it's going to be at EVO. They've welcomed feedback.

Thats great thats its getting a 30 minute demonstration, perfect time slot too. Right after injustice and right before Marvel finals.

Not sure if the time of the demonstration was known before, but there will be a 30 minute demonstration on the final day of EVO.

Nice, thanks for this.

Its not a wholly new team the key leads who do the interviews are the same guys who made Silent Hill Homecoming and Battleship in an interview someone even asked why they made such bad games and the guy gave some hillariously goofy response like "well I mean we gotta eat and live too right?"

Max--did you ever release the video where you were going to discuss the possibility of KI showing up on other platforms?

If you guys go to EVO and get a chance to talk to the Devs can you please ask them about Single player. Let them know that not all fighting game fans want to just play competitively. I was looking for a true single player experince where you work your way up the ladder, fight a boss or two and get a story ending but Ken Lobb said bosses are a No go. Also tell them to add back Fatalities and humiliations.

whoever is able to speak to the developers should ask about online. While being able to go into instinct mode to cancel an ultra and go back into it is cool it will definitely cause people to rage quit. How will that be handled? Especially with Rank matches.

Some of the best Devs have made some real turkeys and awful cash-ins in the past. While some degree of trepidation is always warranted, don't let it override your better judgement in this case.

By all accounts, it seems they are doing right all this time around. With support/influence from MS and Rare, the expertise of a well assembled team of veterans, input from the fans and a genuine intention to produce a fun, high quality title, it would be best not to allow past mistakes to bias your impression of their current efforts.

In short: I think you need to let it go, bro.

Also to add to this, they said in interviews that they brought in a lot of talent and fighting game expertise, from classic to new just for this project. Someone said it earlier, but sometimes you want a developer that's got something to prove to make something great. For me personally, it seemed that way when I talked with them at E3.

From this thread, I have now subscribed to you like a week or two ago. I just want to say your awesome and appreciate all the work you do. I mean it :p

Thanks a ton dude. Means a lot!

They're not wrong.

Each game is a new opportunity.

I understand that they are a smaller team with limited ressources unlike the new Warner Bros sponsored Netherrealm Studios, but paying 60$ for a game with gimped single player will kinda suck; especially since one of the trademark of KI was how incredibly powerful EyeDol was and the cutscenes for the endings were really cool back then.

But you gotta go what you gotta go!

And btw, to the "i like comics" guy, back then the game was not considered "camp" or "corny"; it was considered to be a really cool, stylish and edgy alternative to MK with very fast (for its time) gameplay and fresh concepts.

It was incredibly badass.

.

I agree but that seems to be the way with Fighting Games these days - bare minimum effort on Single Player content.
Not that most of the fighters of old had more than Arcade Mode, but unlocking characters and such gave me a good reason to play it.

I don't believe we know whether it will be $60.00 or not yet. I know there will be a full game release but I don't think they've confirmed anything on pricing so let's not get all upset about modes not making it etc, before we actually know what the "full game" will entail and how much it will cost.

I wrote a pre-Evo guide for potential KI players so they can get the most out of their limited time with the game at Evo. It should be up on Prima's site sometime today or tomorrow at the latest. I'll link once it's live.

I brought this up at E3, but I will bring it up again if I see them at Evo. The main reason I'm going to Evo is to play KI (not competing in anything this year), so I will have as much hands on time with the game as I can get.

I hope that there is a $40-$60 version of the game you can buy to guarantee that you will get the launch characters and all future characters releases.

Also hoping there is a matchmaking playlist only for people who have the full game so we don't face Jago all day.

Then you should also ask (if you don't mind) how many events do they plan on announcing a new character because at the pace they are going we can expect 6 players at launch, and that would be extremely bad and kill a lot of the hype for Killer Instinct. I would rather they delay the game and have at least 16 characters.

This is a major concern of mine and one of the only downsides I see to this free to play thing. I hope they do it like you said but I doubt it.

I will, but I don't recall anyone saying that they would ONLY announce new characters at events. I'm sure we'll get character announcements without an event to attach it to. We found out about Fulgore, Spinal and Cinder via E3 interviews (not an official announcement).

new news new thread? that video deserves it as i think it really shows what the devs are bringing to the table commitment wise.... something a lot of people question when they see the name attached.
