The graphics look fine but the gameplay they did on stage looked god awful. It looked like dude was mashing buttons, twirling the stick, and yet pulled off 15 hit combos.

15 years too late
This. Looks like a re-skinned Street Fighter IV.
He lied man...it was a poor choice of words but probably used wisely to get us hyped. So then where was Rare? Was this the 'historic IP' that Rare was going to show?
Double Helix?
Whatever little hype I had for a long gone franchise has been thrown out.
Looks like I'll be missing out, but not much.
Rare not making it?!?!
And it looks nothing like Killer Instinct. Big let down.
This is KI:

Trailer shows both Double Helix AND Rare logos at the end:

Robin Beanland, the composer for the original Killer Instinct, is still at Rare. If he is not working on this game in any capacity I will jump in a lake.
As someone who was a diehard Killer Instinct fan, I thought this looked terrible
Hideous art design and it looks looked clunky. Not to mention, none of the original devs are on board.

This looks awful. KI wasn't even a good fighting game from what I remember as a kid. Always surprised at the nostalgia from it.
I don't get the love for Killer Instinct. What does it offer next to the current crop of fighters?
