I am interested to see what the developers do about the whole "Multiple machines at Evo" thing. Any chance of MS making licenses specific to the fighting or competitive gaming community?

No, but its good to see that they want the FGC feedback on it and no better place than EVO tbh.

It's a slippery slope since offline machines would be in demand for people who serve overseas, fighting game tournaments, in areas with poor/no internet connection, etc. They might as well just eliminate the 24 hour check in.

I wonder. It certainly isn't unprecedented; In 2007 Sony donated a bunch of PS3s for use at Evo for VF5 and T5:DR; the latter being a download-only game.

The only problem is that authentication period.

Serving where? My brother-in-law is currently serving in Afghanistan and they have the internet at their base.

From what I understand it is very strict. If I am wrong I will gladly recant my statement but I checked out sources and it seems like a pretty steep price to access the internet in Afghanistan and other foreign lands.

Edit: Even counting all that stuff out you still gotta jump through so many hoops to play a god damn game. Most soldiers would probably just hook up a PS4 and play.

I love the ridiculous amount of sparks that fly off projectiles.

Yeah really over the top, I guess that's going to be a complaint by the FGC though?
I hope they add some camera movement to the Ultras, like fast camera switches in chord with the music/beat. Would be bonkers.

I really like the block noise when Jago is in Instinct mode.

I sort of like the fact that the camera doesn't move for the ultras. With SFIV and MK's camera moves in ultras/super moves, I always felt that it was the game screaming 'look at me, this game is actually 3D, can you believe it?' Its sort of like how with the Vita Sony acted as if there has never been a touch device before.

I quite like the fact that KI is sort of like: 'meh, No need to move the camera, I already know I look great. Yes this is a 3D game as a 2D fighter.' Also, as you can cancel out of ultras and combo after them, I expect camera switches would be disorientating.

So a different KI thread had me thinking how cool would it be and how much it would help spread the KI love if the KI "demo" was already downloaded on every Xbox One like Hexic HD was? I think everyone at launch at least tried Hexic once.

where i can i watch this 90+ hit combo?

It was on the Twitch MadCatz stream earlier on. People went wild and Ken Lobb was impressed.

Crazy how this thread was so negative towards the game and news coming out of E3 and it's been a complete 180.

Sure, but it's still not the feature-rich experience I want. There's no hope for robust single-player modes in a fighter built to be stipped down and sold in chunks as DLC.

I know, SP modes in fighting games is not teh hardcore. I'm an entitled casual fan of the genre, spoiled by the PS2 era. But a stripped-down XBLA title with bare-bones content (plus training modes!!!!) is much less exciting to me than a nostalgia-fueled cheese-fest, chock full of joyful crap like the MK reboot.

On the plus side, it sounds like it plays well.

I don't see any reason why it couldn't be the entire game experience, but just for Jago. So you'd get single player, training mode, all the stuff you get in a fully priced game, but just unlocked for one character.

I can only speculate / wish for this to be the case, but don't jump to conclusions just yet!

As far as I am aware from watching various interview and stuff, its the full game content, just with 1 character.

If they add any new maps, costumer etc, then you should get those as well right? Or they might do a LoL type of thing and do character packs + limited edition costumes etc.

The only thing about the VO is that it's closer to the SNES KI games, rather than the Arcade.

On SNES: "ULTRA! Ultra! ultra!" -Say the word over, and over, getting more and more quite.

Arcade: "ULLLLLTRRRAAAA COMMMMMBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooo!" -Screamed an actual sentence, that faded out.

If he just occasionally said "___ combo!" after his lines, I'd be perfectly happy.

But the SCREAMING LIKE EVEYRTHING IS THE BEST. THING. EVER! is VERY KI. It fits right alongside the OVERblown particles, and the new constantly-breaking stages. It's a 90's sensory-overload commercial in playable form.

Wouldn't have it any other way.

The Vs. And Victory screens being static picture is kinda lame. I wish for them to change that to the out of context CGI spiels like the original Arcade KI
Also I hope they keep some of the zanier stuff like Humiliations.

Tell them. They said they want feedback on what the community wants, so they can work it into the game in future seasons.

I don't think we need CG, the models themselves could do it very well.

It would be kinda cool is there were alt ways to end Ultras in humiliating ways. Since you can combo ULTRA into ULTRA now, transforming the Ultra into a humiliation ender would be a nice surprise...

I could deal with it all being added back in, but I'd hope such things wouldn't be a first priority.

Watched the madcatz stream, man looks good, love how the stage gets destoryed during a ultra

Wonder what will happen on the classic rooftop level

I played a few rounds at e3 and was surprised at the feel of the game, I play a lot of SSF4AE and I felt right at home, I may be going insane but I could swear jago said/says something like Shoryuken on the dragon punch animation.

The game looks great running and I was really impressed at everything going on at one time, those sparks look great and the game has a lot of potential and if they don't rush it out but actually keep polishing the game, we are in for a treat.

Remember when everyone was saying "Combo Breaker" a couple days ago because it was made by Double Helix?

Can you Combo Break a Combo Breaker, because that was basically what Double Helix did to all the nay-sayers these past few days.

Good on them for finally looking like they're coming into their own and delivering the proper reboot to the KI franchise that it deserves. Seems like a team that loves fighting games and the KI legacy.

Good shit. I've heard nothing but praise from everyone that has played it.

This was a quote from one of the graphic devs on KI too all the crazy ass effects/particles/lighting that happen during a match.

'Our goal is 60 fps. Never failing, never submit to less. It's too important.'

I fucking swooned.

Haha, awesome!

Yeah, the only thing visually for me that would be nice if they could do something about is the character clipping. That's it.

Dude, your reaction vid to the announcement was absolutely hilarious! I think I reacted similarly lol.

Anyway, thanks for all your impressions and the dev interview...Very informative and better coverage than the shitty misinformation alot of the vg sites are parroting.

I honestly think I am the only one here in this thread who feels the sparks are way over the top and need to be toned down.

I feel they were made by someone who has just started using particle effects and realized that they could crank them up because they could and it didn't effect performance.

They seem too distracting and gimmicky for the sake of a WOW!

Just my 2 cents.
