Oh the guns I love the feeling that they have weight in them. I played CoD World at War last and difference is there. Also lack of auto-aim is good.

Here is something funny that has plagued me from the old days of the Resistance Clan GBs... I accidentally killed myself with the bazooka. (wasn't a grenade!)

This game plays differently from other shooters. Quite a bit differently. Just adapt rather than trying to make it like other shooters, because you'll never get it quite like other shooters, and you'll just lessen the entire experience GG was trying to provide.

Well you know EVERY other console FPS or even TPS I've played I've maxed out the sensitivity so naturally that was the first thing I did here. It just didn't feel right when I did - I think it's because they increase the acceleration with the turn speeds. Ended up lowering both sensitivities all the way down and it felt a lot better.

But yeah, I don't think people are trying to make it feel like something it isn't - just trying to make it play right for them.

Ok, getting used to the controls again. Took a little bit to get it right but now im back son! IM BACK SON! I love doing the warehouse part over and over again, just to see the different outcomes. I keep "restarting from checkpoint" at the warehouse.

Cant wait for multiplayer! Oh god

Now that I've played it 5 or so times I'm taking the time to actually look at the buildings.
There is a whole bunch of geometry being thrown around by the engine when you are outisde.

The details on the bridges and buildings. Megaphones on wires. Flags. Just taking a moment to look around shows exactly how much stuff the Cell Processor is cranking through as geometry in the distance is all still well detailed.

Its very atmospheric. (dare I say subtle beauty?)

So someone that's played the MP beta, did you find that toggling zoom with the right stick worked out alright? I imagine it would be a pain in the ass to toggle like that than just hold a trigger, especially if there is no cover system.

Actually, it's just the loading screens, the menu isn't as far as I can tell... I tried it.

Question:

Is there toggle crouch/cover? Holding L2 down for a period of time (Alternate 2) is not, I repeat, not fun.
 
Wow. I knew it would look good but I was still blown away and the sound is fantastic. The controls take some getting use too but it's not a major hurdle to overcome.

They try to make it feel intuitive. This isn't. Weapons should have weight, but in reality you should be able to aim much faster.

I have them. If your hand is the right size they are absolutely perfect.

If your hands are too small then it will force you to stretch your fingers out a little more to grab the triggers which might not be fun.

They clip on very well and allow you to firmly hit the triggers.

US Demo is no different than EU one, so don't waste your time.

I'm definitely liking it after a few playthroughs (I like the pistol :D )

I really hope they do patch the menu though as that shake is irritating as hell.

Here I thought I was a bad ass for taking my PSP to work so I could download the KZ2 demo with my pre-order code as soon as it went up so it would be ready when I got home.

Forgot the shit fuck code.
 
HOLY CRAP, you must play the demo in RUSSIAN! :D

I swear to everything, Russian voiceovers are better than English, it's just so damn awesome, even though I can hardly understand anything.

There is not attaching to cover in multiplayer but you can still USE cover. You run from place to place trying to keep yourself covered. You just can't peek around cover to shoot like in single player.

Using cover in Killzone 2 just becomes essential and because of that it makes it feel like a far more realistic experience.

I got to play the demo twice before I left for school today.

I'm a little upset that the demo itself is barely 10 minutes of play, but other than that I'm extremely impressed (if, say, not shocked -- I've seen so many videos of this level, I actually felt like I had played it before).

The controls are a non-issue for me, but that's primarily because I'm one of those few who played Killzone 1, and the "heavy feel" is actually, well, much heavier in KZ1. Here, it's much simplified -- and I agree with those who recommend NOT fucking with the controls. I did, just to see what the dynamic was, but because of the movement acceleration, it just doesn't work as well if you mess with it.

Needless to say, I'm still getting "used" to them, but the difference in my preformance between the first and second playthrough was very significant. It just takes some play time to "get it." So long as you're not consciously trying to play it like CoD4 or something, you'll adapt quite quickly.

Visually, I needn't really say anything. The game is outstanding, and runs extremely well. I couldn't be more impressed.

This. I loved the demo as much as the next guy, but there are two control options I'd like to have (if they're in there, I haven't seen them):

1. An option to toggle the crouch/cover so I don't have to hold the L2 button
2. A toggle option for aiming down the sight so it stops aiming as soon as I let go of the button.

As you may tell, I'm using the Call of Duty button layout.
 
be aware that those triggers may be too curved for your liking. They're not very comfortable if you have both index and middle fingers on the L1+L2 and R1+R2 buttons at the same time (which in KZ2 is pretty much a necessity).

2 should be there in the options. perhaps not in the demo?
