what do you mean alternating L1 and L2 Kev? Instead of popping out of cover stand up to aim?

I love the cover system in this game, but holding a button to keep my head down just doesn't feel good. It's not because of other games, it's because it just doesn't feel right to have to hold the button down constantly. Same why I loathe games with a run button.
Feels good to me, I prefer not having to "tap out" of cover. Though a toggle option could easily fix that so it suits everyone.

Wow, finally got to play it. The most impressive looking shooter I've played this side of Crysis (and, in some ways, it's more impressive than that masterpiece). I just can't get over how much polish was put into every ounce of the game. It's just insane.

By sticking with smaller, less organic environments, you're never met with rough edges and instead are treated to perfection from start to finish.

I like the addition of cover in an FPS. It adds a dimension to the game that was missing in most FPS titles. Unfortunately, playing games like this can have a negative effect on other releases. FEAR 2, for instance, hits next week and feels a lot less appealing next to this. :\

Now you know why many KZ2 beta players were really underwhelmed by FEAR 2 (and R2 for that matter).

FUCK, first time I got it I wasted it all on the environment like an idiot. :P I've tried to get it again but it's pretty hard to make the guy on the roof fall on purpose. dunno how it happened the first time.

It's not just FPSes... Killzone 2 MP beta pretty much ruined all other games for me. When the beta ended, I had a constant longing to play KZ2 Multiplayer all the time... even while playing other games.

It is the destroyer of other games.

Best game I've ever played on. The demo just simply blew me away. The cover system is fantastic. I love having to methodically move around and try to engage the Helgast soldiers bit-by-bit, especially in the warehouse. It's just so phenomally well-made. I'm sorry I ripped you off in the past mister PS3.

I agree. The Killzone 2 demo is what I was expecting from the FEAR 2 demo. The gunplay king has been replaced.

Cooking a grenade and throwing it behind him seems to do the trick.

I got 3 headshots in a row with that thing without a crosshair. I can't believe how great it feels to aim without looking down the site in this game without one.

I'd kill for this game to have a replay feature like Halo 3's. How fucking cool would it be to record clips and matches in SP and/or MP and be able to move the camera around freely on playback?

Decaps as said, and you can even shoot off the heads of already fallen enemies. :lol

I managed to trigger that E3 07 animation. Didn't get one to ping off his helmet, but then now it would just shoot his helmet off.

I did it to that guy with the StA Rifle and he fell off afterwards :)

The only thing I wish is that I could use L2 for the ironsights (also turn on hold for ironsights) and R2 for shooting.

Also it'd be nice if I could use L1 for crouch/cover and that this was able to be toggled.

The controls would be perfect in this setup imo.

Edit: I've got the real triggers which is why I want this setup.

This game fells so "at home" without a HUD and crosshair. Wuv it.

100% agree. I'd want that way more than co-op DLC.

Is it just me or does Sev seem a little short? Standing beside someone or walking up to a wall makes me feel... small.

But not as bad as Bioshock, where I felt like a 4 foot tall midget.

For those wondering, the rifle can be obtained from the Helghan on the roof in the warehouse section. While he's standing next to a ledge, kill him and he will most likely drop from the ledge, and with him the rifle.

Yeah I kinda wish that was there as well, I love shooting with R2 now that I have a pair of those trigger addons. It's not so bad to toggle it with the stick though, I think I'll keep using Standard 2.

Cool, I'll have to try that later.

In the warehouse, a helghan mofo camping near the roof has it. You have to make him fall off to get it. :P

Yep, yep. My first play through I saw him and when he was shooting me, I noticed that the sound of the weapon firing was different than the other weapons so I figured it was another weapon. Managed to snag it on my last play through and man is it one BA weapon.

holy shit. all i can say. i fell in love with the controls from the first instance. this is how all realistic shooters should feel.

This! Usually, I fumble around with the controls for a bit but everything felt natural my first time through. I'm using Alternate 2 btw.

I found the colour pallete to be very plain, which is a shame when the graphics are so good.

The cover system is abit meh.

In the warehouse, all I could hear from my guy with me was "Shit" "Fuck!" "Shit!". :lol

I found it unintentionally funny and quite plain, gameplay wise. Not my type of game, thankfully the demo has saved me some cash. Might be worth a rental though to see how the multiplayer holds up. I've heard good things about the multiplayer and it seems a game like this will have a healthy online community.
