These sales-age people are really, really pissing me off. I honestly think the mods should set up a sales-only sub-forum and keep these people out, give Gaming-Age back to gamers.

Fucking seconded.

God.

You're so fucking annoying.
Can you just go back to the NPD threads and sit there drooling like a retarded dog barking about how Killzone 2 will fail to sell any copies? First you were bitching in NPD threads about how everyone who owns a PS3 is retarded and hanging onto KZ2 to save them. Then you went on acting all high and mighty after reviews started coming in, saying that none of us could talk because we hadn't played the game.

Now everyone who gives a shit has played the game and come out with their own opinions, and you're STILL bitching. Find something better to do with yourself instead of trolling PS3 games you annoying shit. It's not even funny anymore.

:lol Get the fuck out.

Holy shit that was awesome.

Wow. The guy went away like a little bitch. Bravo.

The 7 from EDGE is disappointing -- I thought EDGE was affiliated with Eurogamer and would have a similar score. Guess not.

Ye, if the download quotas are relatively small, then i wouldnt really like it either :\

if it works like here, you can pay more for bigger download cap and even "unlimited downloads" (they cut my "super unlimited" account after 150 GB :-).
Ah ok, maybe it is like that in Australia too, if you pay more for some internet subscription then you can download more :)

I know that i sometimes use abit too many smiley faces, and i can understand that it can be annoying, i am sorry about that :( The main reason that i use abit too many smiley faces somtimes is because i that want to make sure that what i am saying isnt understood as sarcasm or anything or that i am "angry" (or what i shall say) at someone (if i quote someone) if i should disagree with them.

Somtimes i also use abit too many smiley faces if if someone answer my questions about something, but that is to show that i appreciate the help and the info :) But I will try to cut down on my use of the smiley faces, again, i am sorry :(

Thanks for the nice words! :)

EDIT: I added some text.

I got the control down pat now. I can easily beat the demo with just pistol no grenades or nothing. I am definitley playing the game on veteran. I got much better once I figured to use the strafe technique like a actually would do in a mutiplayer games and you aim alot better. It definetly not exact when you are standing still and try to move the cross hair right to the guy. Instead you move the cross hair and might have to side step left or right one click and boom. It seems more of finding the proper height of the crosshair and then have the enemy guide into your crosshair. That is how I play CS. Whether it's real not real I really don't care. It's fun.

Haha... I'm actually enjoying the storyline from Killzone.com about the timeline of Helgan.

=====From website
Visari's plan is simple:

1. Utilize deep-cover agent ISA General Stuart Adams to neutralize the orbital defense platforms.
2. Utilize deep-cover agent ISA General Dwight Stratson to gain access to intelligence and lure the ISA troops out of the cities.
3. Mount an invasion of Vekta whilst the orbital defense platforms are down, under the command of General Joseph Lente.
4. Reactivate the defense platforms in time to defend Vekta against the inevitable support fleet sent by the UCA.
5. Declare the system to be under Helghast control and sue for peace with the UCN whilst the UCA is still reeling from the loss of its fleet.
6. Use the resources of Helghan and Vekta, as well as technology captured from the wrecked UCA Navy fleet, to build a Helghast fleet capable of defending the system from the UCA Navy.
7. Begin charging trade tariffs for passage through Helghast space to Earth again.
8. Blockade the Earth and strangle the UCN into submission.
9. Capture the UCN Navy shipyards and orbital defenses. Leave Earth's population to starve to death. Build an enormous fleet and establish Helghast hegemony over all colonies.

Also interesting is the timeline has two time periods "locked" right after Killzone Liberation starts.

After those two time periods the timeline begins with Killzone 2 storyline so there is some unwritten history. It seems that the final Killzone Liberation Storyline is incomplete or unwritten.

I wonder if they reserved this for a Liberation 2 or maybe it simply will never be written.

It seems more like the Helghan retreat from Vekta is where those locked periods are. I think they will be unlocked right before release.

Anyone else finding an affinity for the LAR? It feels like it has more of a punch since the beta and I'm digging it more than the M-82.

YOUR NOT GONNA BELIEVE THIS,

But the controls are finally starting to click with me, after about 4 hours playing on the demo I'm now starting to have a feel for them, and I've also realized something, this demo was a very very good idea as anyone that is having an issue with the controls you can use this demo to get some good practice in so when the game is released you can jump right in and enjoy it feeling more comfortable.

Now anyone else that is having a problem with the controls listen up, I was one of the biggest moaners when it can to how the controls felt in this demo, really I was, but practise makes perfect, just keep playing though the demo again and again and slowly on each go you'll naturally start becoming acclimatized with the 'weight' of the controls and how the aiming feels.

The big thing for me was getting used to not pushing the analogue stick around too sharply, being gentle with it helps alot, otherwise your just going to continually overshoot your targets, the slow acceleration arc isn't so bad once you get used it, you can use that slower acceleration arc to gently refine your shots, it works quite well.

This game is definitely not a 'twitch shooter', I've heard loads of people say it but it just wasn't sinking in, tbh the more I play the demo the more it feels like Fear 1 to me, but with a cover system, slow down, take your time on shots, be a bit more methodical and this demo is very rewarding.

Anyway for those finding the controls 'sluggish', 'laggy' or whatever terminology you choose to describe them, just keep playing, it will click in the end, it took a long time for me, I've been moaning about the controls all over the place and TBH I feel quite stupid now, but at the same time I'm glad I persevered because now I know I have a game I can look forward to and not worry about how it controls.

One last thing, I did pop COD4 on after my session on KZ2 and I'm not putting down the controls on COD4 one bit but they did feel really strange, I see what people mean now when they say 'floaty' controls, it's weird, they do kind of feel unnatural lol, was a funny feeling, it's like you have a camera and you can move it around the environment at speed, and jumping was strange as well, I'm so used to bending my knees now and then jumping.

--------------------------------------------

I've realize that I've made some noise in the form of complaints in regards to the control system in this thread so I apologise, I guess subconsciously my brain was just so used to COD4 and R2 that it took a while longer to get used to KZ2's control scheme.

Peace out.

Ok, stop to buy Edge, more money to spend in games :D
Motorstorm 2 - 7 and now KZ2 - >>>> Edge not able to judge vgames :lol

I hope it's the same style as Liberation on PSP, but on PS3 in HD! :D Would be cool if it was episodic, giving us small, hour or so long glimpses into the parts of Killzones timeline we haven't played.

Anyway...I'm playing Killzone 1 right now. Man I'm gonna miss the secondary fire :(

Welcome to the party.

We look forward to killing you in multiplayer (or perhaps being killed by you since you were dedicated enough to go at it for many hours).

Yay! This makes me happy. I hate the idea that people won't be able to enjoy an awesome game because they refuse to get used to the controls. It's a change, but in my opinion it's a wonderful change that you won't want to undo. Kudos for giving it a shot (no pun).

By the way, I did the exact same thing with COD4 and feel exactly the same way. Kind of worries me, because I'm not sure whether or not other developers will go the way GG has. I want twitch shooters still, but they no longer feel like "real" shooters (yes, I'll use the term real even if sounds buzzy now. It's the best way to describe the situation). Hopefully this opens up a new sub-genre or something because this is how I think a shooter should feel.

I know this was silly but I was attempting to jump onto the ISA flying craft which drops off troop reinforcements.

There's a nice waist high cover stone right next to the landing point.. and it seemed ALMOST like I could jump from the top of that stone to the wings of the aircraft.

It sure would have been logged as a severe bug if you were allowed to fly off over the map.

So what is the "chirp"? I'm curious. I want to not be able to unhear it but I need to know what it is first lol.
The chirp is MP exclusive, you'll hear it whenever you score (ingame and offgame).

If I can't see the Helgast symbol when adjusting gamma. Is it my TV?

Switch the PS3 from Full RGB to limited. You are losing the lower end of the color spectrum by setting to full.

EDIT: Also, calibrate the color of your tv using one of those calibration DVD's. It will improve the color to a more ideal setting once you switch to limited since it will seem less colorful afterwards.

I don't think it's that big of a deal really. What kind of TV do you have though? Turning the backlight and gamma up a bit on my TV got it showing with the slider at its default (half-way) place. I was actually adjusting my TV settings separately though, I wouldn't set your TV just to show that symbol. Do what looks best.

Also, changing your PS3's RGB settings from full to limited would probably help a bunch. Would make your colors look worse if your TV supports RGB full though.

why is everyone having so much trouble with the gamma??? If you have a HDTV google the calibration settings for your specific tv. It did wonders for my toshiba regza, although it took me a few days of playing around to find exactly the picture i liked.

That "secret" gun in the demo is awesome. It shoots the Helgan's heads off. :)

I got it once without trying, not sure how to do it again. How do you get that guy to fall down from the roof?

Usually I cannot get him to, when I do (by luck) I never find the gun.

Well done to the guy who called out Frillen - you said what we were all thinking.

From the demo - the technical masterpiece goes beyond jus the GFX and lighting. Bullet hit animation is incredible. The sound design is the best since CoD4. Other small things that need mentioning: bullet holes stay in the wall forever, blood stains stay forever.
