I don't believe it would work because you're then limiting tacticians since they can't use their spawn points to control the action on the map, and also for spawn on squad.

I don't think it would be possible. The Tactician, for example, would be useless.

But then again I also proposed no-respawns for specific missions types. Like when Assassination starts, game goes into "no-respawn mode" and then reverts to free respawn in the next type of mission. They could also add a Last Man Standing interpretation of Body Count.

I loved COD4 for this reason. It had both. Search and Destroy was my fav mode.

I would be very disappointed if there's no option at all for non-respawn matches.
Personally I prefer shooters with no respawn, because it forces players to be more methodical and not just run & gun. Also, it gives you a chance to appreciate the spectator mode. ;)

Since I have not played the beta I can't say what impact this would have on the classes, but the suggestion to offer this on specific game types sounds plausible...

Besides, was KZ2 a non-respawn game with a lower number of players I'm 100% sure the Lean and Peak mechanic (which is awesome btw) would have worked and stayed in making KZ2 a more unique game.

People in the game right now are simply too fast for the lean and peak to work.

But they loved Gears of War no? That's very unique. And also, the L&P doesnt really limit your movements as much as you might think. You can even rotate 360 degrees while still attached to a wall, so no problems shooting behind you either.

Well, they are fast cos they know they have infinite lives.
 
Would be pretty cool to see a round based objective mode (TDM, etc) with no respawns and the cover mechanic thrown in.

For online tournaments and the like, this would be ideal IMO.

Well they could have a mode like that where it would be a one life round, just turn off the tactician primary badge for that round, and people that are tacticians transitioning get turned into a badge of their choosing, available for selection for 30 seconds, otherwise they have to sit it out.

Speaking on the Official PlayStation forums, Guerrilla Games Q&Q Manager Seb Downie promised users, "[Helgan] is not just grey urban wasteland."

Downie's comments go with EGM's August issue Killzone 2 preview, which states that some levels will highlight the "natural beauty" of Helghan. While this doesn’t mean that you’ll be taking in grassy hills and crystal blue oceans, it does serve as an indication that players will get a chance to venture outside of the grey cities and tackle different environments than what's been shown in the trailers.

It would be awesome if Sony created a Western RPG creation team and used this engine to make a game. Deep western rpg with production values on par with God of War!

Like 50% or 80% awesome ? I dont think that the PS3 can handle more than 70% awesomeness.. the bluray is too slow to stream awesomsauce...
Maybe installing data can reach an awesomeness of 75% .. but i doubt it.

I think it would work best if they didnt allow you to respawn until the next Mission Objective came up. You died in body count but then you can spawn when Capture and Hold starts.

I can already imagine.. everyone goes sniper/cloak... 5 minutes of *yawn*
 
I must say guys, this game is fucking fun. No if's and nor buts. This is the first online shooter that I actually love playing, even though I'm not the best. Well, I'm ok I guess. Ya boy put in work. Slayed a few GAF players on last night in a few really intense 32 player matches. Also I must say that I disagree with those that say the Helgan has a disadvantage because of their glowing red eyes, because I had my ass handed to me last night by them :lol

The ISA is just as easily spotted by that glowing neon green/blue light on their shoulders/armor. The game get so much more fun when everyone is leveling up, and using all the different classes. Its a fucking warzone. My neighbor came knocking on the door wondering if I there were gun fire going off in my crib.:lol

With that said, those knuckle heads that spawn camp with the rocket launcher is laughable. I always take the alternate route and 1up them from behind. There so busy killing themselves and their teammates that they're not paying attention to those coming from behind. I get alot of points this way.

In addition, I disagree with those that say they should be no respawn. I actually hate games that when you die thats it. I guess I am more of a casual online shooter player. I just want to have fun. Even when I get owned, as long as its because of skill and not cheap shots. It makes it much more entertaining, that I can jump right back in and seek revenge. Man this game rocks.
