The one thing that I don't like is holding down the left analog to sprint. It feels so freaking uncomfortable. It was annoying enough in the COD:WaW beta and it's even more annoying here with the PS3 pad.
You don't have to hold it down, just tap it once.

So Killzone2 for all intents and purposes is done now right? ...they're just tweaking?

Also ...PLEASE TELL ME YOU CAN REMAP SPRINT AWAY FROM R3!

It's probably L3 like cod4 whats the problem with that?

Click the left stick ONCE run forward then let go of the left stick a little to walk/jog.

They probably doing optimization and DLC , and they gonna add more control layouts.

The biggest FPS of this generation (CoD4) doesn't even have co-op. It's not a staple of the genre yet.

Honestly I think CoD4 is probably going to be the last game to get a free pass on that. Also CoD4 wasn't a flagship 1st party exclusive.

Matt Leone (1up), Killzone 2 preview, 07/11/2007:

The presentation and attention to detail are key. The game doesn't look as good as the 2005 trailer, naturally...but it looks about as good as any other console shooter. We'd say that Gears of War tops it, and a few other titles are on the same visual level, but the game looks extremely nice.

I'm one of those people who LOATHES L3 for sprint. I never used it in Mercs2, CoD4 or Battlefield:BC...I hate the placement and it feels terrible for me. Sorry it's just something I cannot get passed
... Bless Insomniac's hearts for understanding this

One year after ,K2 without being released looks better than anything including Gears of War 2
(Maybe Uncharted is on the same level).

Why the heck would you link to a story from July 2007?

Also:

What's the button configuration? How do you pull up the iron sights?

I don't see how you come to that conclusion at all (really liked Uncharted and thought it was a great looking game).

whoa, I don't own 360 so I stay away from GeoW thread, but is this true? I really don't want to accuse someone for being bias, but is GeoW really look better? maybe some part of it or something.

oh ok, it's an old article, but last year is the first Killzone realtime debut right? I still think it already look mighty impressive even back then

No it's not.

You click down on the right analog to bring up the iron sights and it stays up until you click again. There are some other control set ups if that's a problem.

What conclussion ? Being better good looking that Gears2 or Uncharted?
I fear the orange Kitten wrath so i always name Uncharted :D

You can also set it to be like CoD4 where L1 brings it up

Is it outta the realm of possibility for someone just to list the control setups?

Oh and judgeing from the vids on Gamerysde, aiming down the sights isn't crucial to hit anything ala R2 or CoD ....thank god

Just to make a little fun of a random how-awesome-the-xbox360-is gaming jounalist.

Obviously after 1 year of development the game looks better.

The game even at its early 2007 stage looked more impressive than any title that has released today.

It's a bit more polished now though. The texture quality has increased since then, and they've heavily tweaked the character models.

Matt Leowned probably came into the discussion of KZ2 looking to downplay it from the very start due to the infamous 205 cg trailer.

Does the MP not have the first person cover system? I've never seen anyone use it.

I was really looking forward to that in a multiplayer game.

No, it's not in multiplayer, and it's totally not needed and would ruin the flow of the game if it were in it.

The devs have already explained why they axed that.
And its completly understandable, i would made the same .

I couldn't agree more... That's why this article is so wrong.

There are different configurations and more options are coming. The default one has iron sights on R3 (toggle, not hold). There is a COD4-like configuration (with iron sights on L1) but since it's toggle and not hold it doesn't feel right. They are gonna fix this by adding a toggle/hold option.

I got used to the default set up tho. I use crouch (hold L2) when aiming and then switch to iron sights for precision shooting from afar.

Overall, I don't think the iron sights view was ment to be used as much as in COD4. Crouching is the way to go during close to mid-range firefights. Which is a realistic way of doing things me thinks. Once you get this, it clicks and you stop bitching about controls not being like COD4.

Let's all talk about the new Twisted Metal game coming to PSN soon.

I'm hoping it will replace my PSN love for Warhawk.
Uh, your definition of soon must be pretty liberal. Late 09 at the earliest is far from soon.

The best Media Blowout would be GG saying : 'Guys ,it is allowed to share the BETA' :lol
Can i haz a BETA kode plz ?

Yep. We're now at the point where co-op is expected rather than treated as a nice bonus from big time FPS (even many of the middling ones are including it now).

KZ2 co-op could have been so awesome.

The thing is, KZ2 feels like it was made for coop, you have a squad, and the areas are slightly bigger than you'd get in something like COD4. I think they'll add it.

Which is a huge fucking plus in my book. As I said, I'm sick of devs trying to emulate it...
