TTP said:There are different configurations and more options are coming. The default one has iron sights on R3 (toggle, not hold). There is a COD4-like configuration (with iron sights on L1) but since it's toggle and not hold it doesn't feel right. They are gonna fix this by adding a toggle/hold option.
I got used to the default set up tho. I use crouch (hold L2) when aiming and then switch to iron sights for precision shooting from afar.
Overall, I don't think the iron sights view was ment to be used as much as in COD4. Crouching is the way to go during close to mid-range firefights. Which is a realistic way of doing things me thinks. Once you get this, it clicks and you stop bitching about controls not being like COD4.

SolidSnakex said:I'd much rather they just include what they feel is ready to go instead of trying to plug more modes in just to please a few journalists that feel they deserve every FPS mode under the sun.
Firewire said:One thing I loved about you're video's is the fact that iron sights are used correctly in this game. R2 was a major disappointment in terms of not actually looking down the barrel of the rifle. It really bothered me that they don't actually use the sights on the gun in R2. K2 gets it right, and I think I'll end up using iron sights more in certain situations because of it.
TTP, I'm not sure if you have had the chance to use the sniper rifle in K2, but if you have can you tell us what you think of it? I just hope it isn't like the Fareye in R2 where if you aim at someone and another person runs by it automatically shifts to the guy running by. Its just something I find really annoying.
Great video's by the way!
Are there any good vids of the sniper? The more I hear about it the cooler it sounds and really want to see it in action.Private Hoffman said:There is no auto-aim with the sniper.

when you zoom in and you move left and right, you get the proper momentum shift of the gun. It's not a static HUD like it is in a game like R2.
Split-screen in Killzone 1 was the best thing about the game. I loved playing two-player DM or TDM with the bots.Wax Free Vanilla said:it better have split local multi-player and bots - 2 v 8 in killzone one was![]()
Uncharted 2 is going to be 09? There are a lot of good PS3 exclusives this year, Heavy Rain, InFamous, GT5, GOW3 are all going to be great. But I think I'll like KZ2 the most of them.Fizzle said:Uncharted 2 deserves a mention.
David Jaffe is "craving" it. How can you "crave" something not officially announced?
I think this is good enough proof for me. :lol

Im calling it, it doesnt matter how good and awesome it is and how much better it looks than every other game out or coming out, if it ships without co-op it will be docked.
If reviewers can bitch about the narration in R1 and then bitch that its not there in R2 what do you think is going to happen to KZ2 with no co-op?
Anyway game looks shit hot, ive been sending .gifs to friends.

Halo 3: Recon will be massive as well of course, but I meant PS3 exclusives.
EDIT: That's based on the assumption Trico doesn't make out in '09.

They also have the tradition of only taking 2 years, so I would expect it this year. Maybe it'll be 2010, but I'd be surprised.Die Squirrel Die said:I would reckon Uncharted 2 would be a safer bet for 09 than GoW3. While not quite at an Insomniac pace, Naughty Dog have a pretty good reputation for timely turnarounds on development, plus they've got an engine in place.
Also GoW has a tradition of being a March release.

Private Hoffman said:Oh, I will bitch if the game gets lower scores because it doesn't have co-op. Because that's a deeply flawed line of thinking. Just because game X has co-op doesn't mean that game Y needs it. Opinions differ on the subject, and perhaps the developers believed that their resources should be allocated more towards polishing up the online component than throwing on a tacked on 4 player mode. Given how damn impressive KZ2's online is, and how much more important it is in terms of longevity compared to a co-op mode, I can see why they would want to spend most of their resources towards competitive play.
In terms of gameplay, I honestly won't miss the feature. *MY* co-op experience is through the multiplayer modes and not the single player.

1 thing to note...you're looking at videos.Pojo said:No, the textures are. This is a fact, look at the videos. They are not detailed, at least compared to the trendy games this gen. The game looks amazing because of all the effects, which I think is better in the long run.
And I agree about Resistance 2. Nothing looks better than that right now on consoles, I'm sick of the crap.
You guys are getting me wrong. Personally I love the idea of online coop, in practice however its a challenge to even get a game of online madden going with friends, coop through a campaign? Forget about it.Firewire said:Awesome thanx for the info!
I'm sure theres going to be bitching. But realistically I wouldn't want the to do co-op if it took resources away from both the campaign and multiplayer. And it most likely would have, if they did add co-op I'm not sure we would be looking at the same visually awesome game in either campaign or multi.

Tom Penny said:So how do they handle the infamous sniper / campfests that occur in alot of shooters. There is always a bunch of those guys who never move.
Simple. They make it so you dont want to stay in 1 place all the time. Because there's always somebody that will run up right behind you and gun you down. Also, if there's another sniper on the opposite team...they're likely to spot you if you sit in the same area. Also, when you're killed...they show the general area from which the bullet came from.Tom Penny said:So how do they handle the infamous sniper / campfests that occur in alot of shooters. "Hiding" isn't really an option in this game, there are no guaranteed safe havens. One of the game types is Assassination where you take out a specific person, and once you're the target you quickly realize the levels were all made specifically so that you couldn't just hide in a corner for 60 seconds and win, you are never ever in a spot where you feel completely safe and secludedTom Penny said:So how do they handle the infamous sniper / campfests that occur in alot of shooters.
