Ok I been reading this thread daily since its inception..
And now that I've played the demo all i have to say is holy shit, i can not wait for the full game.
I havent played a demo so much in my life.

Seriously anyone complaining about this game needs to STFU.
Im not saying this game will be the next best thing period, but o my if the whole game feels like the demo did i dont think I will have to buy another FPS for a long time.

The Visuals: wow wow wow.
The Sound: damn
The controls: jesus christ anyone bitching(too weighty, why not like CoD, blah blah blah) needs to seriously stfu..
The AI: o man these guys are smart bastards even on normal difficulty
The Overall feel: Hot damn

I can not wait, this demo has me foaming at the mouth.
I want to go home and play some more. My only problem w/ the demo was its length, wish it was like 1/2 hour long lol.

Day 1 for me and i look forward to shooting at you people online. Grab your nuts, Cover your ass and run!

May well be the wrong place but....can anyone here Killzonify my avatar? :D Pwetty Pwease!

Also, what's this about a single shot rifle in the demo? Tell me moar!

So basically...stfu if one's opinion of the game does not match yours.

Gotcha.

When you get inside the warehouse look for a guy on the roof right across the room. If you shoot him in the legs he should fall forward along with his sweet single shot.
Good luck!

Ok, WTF is going on? I suddenly can't play the demo anymore. It says "the copyright information is invalid".

Eblamestop code or Euro PSN?

Also did you delete the user account that downloaded the file?

Sometimes my gf watch while I'm playing (she loves shooters but sucks at them), after I played the demo, I asked about her impressions:

I think it looks better than any other 'shooting' game

Looks like the enemies are more harder to kill (than other games), if you move they move, they run if you get close 'they seem to be very scared'

I really liked it when your 'friend' helped you to climb to the elevator (That's the moment she liked most... weird)

They are all bald, why? (don't know :P)

I never played a demo so much in my life, i would usually play a demo once or twice and then delete it, I must have played kz demo at least six times and don't want to delete it.

I deleted the EURO PSN I used to download it, so I guess that could be it. But I've downloaded other demos from the euro store and played them after deleting the account. I'm pretty sure I even played this demo last night after deleting the account.

:lol :lol :lol This dude's insane and absolutely amazing. You guys need to see his other videos.

Can't check the link but I'm guessing that's an Elpresador vid?

Holy lord is he the greatest.

FIRE UP THE DEUCE!

Btw the new talking point from the usual suspects about the game's dead zone is absolutely hilarious considering the game doesn't have a dead zone. Even if you move the stick the slightest the character moves.

Why even delete the account? You're eventually going to want to download from the foreign stores again in the future...

I think some people really don't understand what a deadzone really is. They just repeat a bunch of nonsense about the DS2 expecting it to be the case with the DS3.

I think they're talking about the right stick which does seem to have a slight input lag compared to "normal". I, personally, am not bothered by it.

I love clearing the wharehouse and then standing next to an exploding barrel and shooting so I die and get to restart. Speaking of explosions... I love shooting the propane tanks and watching them spin uncontrollably towards the enemy who are gtfo teh dodge before it blows up. :lol Good laughs right there.

There is a 30-50ms window which results in ignored input and a tiny amount of delay. See my post on the playstation forums.

No, there's not.

The guy in that youtube video is just flicking the analog stick.

The way KZ2 handles it accounts for momentum. So, if you stop moving abruptly with the stick, it will still keep on moving slightly a bit thereafter.

Try making fine movements either zoomed in or from the hip, barely touching the analog stick in a given direction and you will see that there is no noticeable delay.

There is an initially slow acceleration and then it increases as you hold the analog stick in a given direction.

So are you going to play the game or argue with people?

Um...I posted last page that I played through the demo 4 times.

Here let me do it again for you.

The graphics are excellent, the sound is excellent, the controls are fine but BEYOND THE PRESENTATION...I fail to see what the big deal is about this game. It could be this level I dunno, but it is what it is.

Much more anxious for MP now.

Is that okay?

look up?

He posted his impressions already.

Made a alt Euro account, just installed KZ2.

Now to see if the game is OMGZ the 2nd coming like GAF would have you believe...

Last thing I saw him post, and as someone already pointed it out, he sounds like he wants to hate it, because it's what all the cool kids are doing.

Well there you go, a lot of downloaded content as well as some demos' drm is pretty much tied to that user account. In order for it to work again you need to bring back the account and you may have to redownload the demo again because of the DRM, well that applies to purchased games, so I don't know about demos though.

But yeah that's pretty much it.

I said the "deadzone" didn't bother me but there were some instances it made me seem like a noob. I recorded some video of my playthrough to show a co-worker and there were times I'd get up from cover see the enemy running from his cover so I'd aim, anticipate his movement and start firing.... except my gun never moved lol so I'm just shooting nothing. I guess it's a beigger deal than I thought. That would NOT be fun n MP.

Nice post. I think you've kind of nailed it.

Wow...This is actually interesting.....

I haven't had that kind of lag or deadzone issue, I don't know if it makes a difference that I'm using a DS3 (my Sixaxis has this exact problem though).

But yeah, that DEFINITELY looks glitchy. I thought sluggishness just meant it was slow, but that video looks downright unresponsive.

Sorry if I insulted anyone saying "That's what they were going for" That looks broken.

Please read my post above. There's nothing broken about it. The 'stick flick test' doesn't mean squat.

Some tips I'd like to share from playing the demo a few times:

Kind of obvious, but you can select grenades with the dpad just like you select your knife. Looks pretty cool to be holding a grenade.

There are a couple of different animations to see at the elevator. If you hop off of the platform, Garza will pull you back up. You can also shoot/melee Garza back down off of the platform, he'll climb up on his own. There's some dialogue to hear if you sit with him by the elevator for a while too; not bad either.

In the warehouse, you can get the second wave of enemies to spawn by just trotting down to Garza. Then, head right back up the steps and there's some cover facing all of the action. This is a good way to get a clear look at the guy on the roof too. I've found it's best to take his legs out while he's on the (your) left side of it right on top of the door. That's where he tends to wander closest to the edge.

But it's so odd.

Stick flicking on mine doesn't cause that.

The game is super responsive to me. I'm not dissing the game, I think there is an issue though with that considering it's not inconsistent.

That's what I got from it. It was OK. Once the presentation wears off, it's still your standard FPS.

I posted a little bit about this back some pages, but I just don't understand this. It's nothing like your average FPS. COD, Halo, RFOM all play like your standard FPS. This play nothing like a standard FPS.

The weighted controls (which took me 3 playthroughs to get), the cover system all lead to a very different FPS experience then I've played before.

Sorry, but you're only adding to the confusion.

Side note: I lowered the contrast on my monitor and the game looks even more gritty and cinematic.

I'm sure that it is pretty safe to say that those that play this like a standard fps, run n gun kinda style, are gonna get RAPED on the hardest difficulty.

why oh why is my damn internet throttled so I can't download lovely things like this? Damn fair usage policies.

oh well, not long until its out over here, can hang on a little longer. Pikmin will help ease my tensions.
