I don't get you people, I really don't. This game looks pretty awesome, and I'm probably going to get it some day.

But fuck, why don't you untwist the knot in your panties and realize some of the people in this thread who got called out for "trolling" were being legitimately honest?

You all act as though you're sooooooo high and above the bar, acting as your own goddamn mods. But when people say something like "this looks okay, I'm not sure about it though..." or "I didn't really dig the demo..."

ITS A FUCKING OPINION. THERE IS NO "CORRECT" OPINION ABOUT FUCKING KILLZONE

And If I honestly get banned for this, I have no idea. I know what response I'm gonna get back, but I aim to defend it. I'm not trolling this game at all, I'm pointing out the ridiculousness of the fanbase in here.

I see no one attacking others opinions here.

I see many attacking those coming up with idiotic statements like "this is not the PS3 savior". Not because they think it is the PS3 savior, but simply because no one expects it to be that in the first place.

They are offended by the misconception and the subtle fanboy accusations, not the opinions.

Edit: you edited too late :P

Can you get one of the dropships landing on the beach head?

I got to that point and just ran back around the bridge to watch the battle. Both sides looked like awesome firing volleys of bullets between each other. The Helghast were advancing through, but meh ISA peeps held their ground and used more grenades to dislodge the HGH positions. The ISA side then shifted them selves to the right side of the beach (if you were facing the floodgates) and the HGH were caught in the open. So with me not firing a bullet the ISA beat back the HGH. Which is completely opposite of how they got steamrolled in another playthrough.

Sorry cakefail, this is a silly complaint on your part and it's largely unfounded.
You can say that it doesn't bother you, and that'll do. I'd be willing to do some kind of blind test to show how sensitive I am to delay. The fact the latency in the free-fill sections on Rock Band's drum charts bothers me and doesn't bother others, or that I much prefer the better response of wired mice over the convenience of wireless. It's something in me that simply demands to know where something is at all times, and the slightest delay breaks my flow of concentration.

I'm different than you, get over it. The least you can do is respect it.

Nice, hopefully it has the 10,000 contrast ratio to back those blacks up as well :D

Keep bragging after getting your electricity bill. I'll take my 52" Bravia, thank you very much.

I know I might have to get a bank loan for it. No worries, I'm sure stills of KZ2 looks amazing on your Bravia LCD.

Seriously? You're gave urself a chance to retort and you came up with THAT??:lol

Do you even know how lens flare work? That said, the effect's awesome...especially when its coupled together with all particle work the devs have put into...

Off topic - Do plasmas really use that much more in this day and age?

We will have 2 large plasmas in my house by the next electric bill, should we be worried?

TTP said:
that's not the emblem he's talking about.

There are no emblems to be found in the demo... unless you glitch out of the map and reach a given spot past the demo-ending border.

Actually . . . at the very end of the demo if you look out the door and up to the left (without exiting into that final area) there is an emblem on a far off wall. You can shoot it from the doorway and it will record it as 1 of 3. I don't know if the glitch emblem is the same one or a different one, but there is one at the end of the demo.

To those that played the full game:

Does the tutorial make a good job teaching the movement basics and stuff? I recall TTP saying that it should but I take it he was referring to the demo and the lack of a more focused tutorial.

I guess it must be a bit hard to teach people, dunno, perhaps some tutorial level where the instructor goes all "WTF are you doing Sev, think this is a game? Ever heard of inertia, fool, why you keep bumping into walls yadda yadda??"... or maybe not lol.

Now, entering rant mode, I was one of the original "complainers" on several sites, although my niggle was (and still is a bit) with the aim acceleration when Sev was stopped, not the control scheme (I trusted TTP and went with the default controls, it's the best scheme) or lag per se, but then someone talked about input lag and all shit->fan. The aiming caught me by surprise and had more impact than in the beta, and I guess it was pretty much the same, but when you got a few dozen maniacs trying to kill you, you adapt faster to the controls lol. After a few more runs of the demo it's strange that I still don't like the aiming that much (more customization options ftw GG go) but the end result seems to be pretty much the same as in any other fps, given that I have little trouble shooting the enemy either from the hip or with the scope. I'd say I use 70% hip and 30 scope, only when there's a bit of a distance. I should play it a bit more, only completed it about 10 times or so at the most, while some of you guys are probably in the hundreds already (cough FFObsessed cough).

To finish the spontaneous rant, I'd just like to say that probably the most awesome moment for me in the demo was the first time I fired a few shots inside the warehouse and noticed the difference in the sound compared to the outside. The sound is always awesome and I'm using earphones. KZ2 is truly a complete audiovisual experience. :)

What do you mean, "you people"? Hahaha.

And to be honest, I just felt like posting the picture because of that kid's goofy grin.

Just sticking my head into the thread to see if everyone is enjoying the demo. I know I am. I've played it a few times, and every time I've had a different experiance with the way the AI runs all over the damn place trying to take cover and flank. Game looks absolutely ace on my set. 42 inch 1080p Toshiba Regza.

Alright folks, I'm not trying to fuck up this thread like so many others but I think I might have to pass on KZ2.

I have tried the demo 6 times now and the controls are a real deal breaker. I go to move my sight, only to have it move half a second later. Then, when I release the analog stick where I think my reticule should stop on a Helghast it flies right past them. I love shooters to death and it just confuses me that GG would choose to make the controls like that. I tried to get used to the controls but it just is not happening for me.

I don't mind the "weight" or speed of the game, and the AI is pretty awesome. I just can't adjust to the controls at all. Fuck, I really wanted to play the MP in this but if the controls are the same all around I will probably pass.

Is it unrealistic to hope GG would patch the controls in any fashion? :(

In your world where there is a half second input lag and the reticule moves by itself? Sure, why not.

But in real life where the game's controls aren't broken, no.

I have my PS3 plugged into my HDMI input on my Samsung 7 series LCD and I have no problems with any other games. I have done lag tests via my laptop and this is the input where I get minimal lag. My HDMI input set to PC gets minute lag but the VGA is ace. I don't have these issues when I play Halo 3, CoD4, Half Life 2, or any other shooter which makes me think GG designed the controls the way they did. Which confuses the hell out of me.

EDIT: I meant to say I have my PS3 plugged into my HDMI via the PC setting.

There honestly might be something going on with that connection. For most people, the delay that is being mentioned isn't that much of an issue. Flick-failing, but certainly not game-breaking.

Can I get you to try something, please?

Play the demo again, without using your scope at all. Shoot in short bursts. Tell me if the "lag" is any better.

So, so angry. It's going to be OK, just breathe, count down from 10, and everything will be peachy. I promise.

At this point it looks highly unlikely, but I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to let your opinion be known on the official GG boards.

The issue is momentum, not latency. As has already been proven, the game does not have latency out of the average for a 30fps game. It sucks that you are having trouble with it, hopefully with some more practice you can get the hang of it. The key is slow, small deliberate movements with the stick, not fast flicks. Best of luck to ya! :D

Look, I'm not trying to stir shit up, this is my experience. And I know why when I let go of the analog the controls still move for a half second. If your reticule does not move for half a second when you first move it that would mean there would be another delay when you stop.

You people? But, it's ok for him and yourself to insult people by lumping all kz2 fans as crazies who'll readily insult anyone who disagrees with their view? Gotcha.

I wish I could judge this game just on it's merits instead of judging it as the SDF's last stand. Unfortunately it looks like the latter is the case.

Its kinda annoying me how beating the whole game without dying is only a silver trophy, and collecting all the intel is a bronze. Collecting all intel should be a silver, and beating the whole game without dying should defiantly be a gold.

I've gotten so good at the demo that I'm popping headshots right and left. And for you guys having trouble, try shooting from the hip for fast moving enemies. Works great, better than you'd think.

Which says something about you, actually. Is some insignificant "war" between consoles more important to you than good games? Why care?

I don't own a 360, but I won't call Gears of War "bland" or some other non-sense just because 360 owners go crazy over it. It's a great looking game, I don't care if it's the most important thing in some 13 year old kid's life. I understand though, I used to be like you. Then I got a life and realized that games are games. KZ2 is a really awesome one, you should check it out.

This thread seems rife with threatened xbots.

Will the world fall, as truly you are making it seem with your protestations, if the PS3 has a good, if not great, shooter in 2009?
