It's the PSN logo but it's not like on the US version at the top but right in the middle of the cover....

Look above. It's a light grey/blueish button of PSN branding. The stripe at the top ala R2 was obnoxious but at least it didn't compromise the cover art itself. This is so much worse.

He is awesome though, At least I hear those guys will be un-banned in time for the game's Launch. If all mods were like it, GAF would be so awesome....:D

Anyone with final build. Is this image correct? Have they switched the abilities for the engineer so that turrets now are secondary and mix-able??

Supposedly in the middle east where the game's street date has already been broken, the officials in Milestone Interactive, the official distributor for Sony India have decided to release the game on the 11th of February, almost 2 weeks ahead of their other counter-parts to beat the grey market sales.

Guerrilla deserve to be praised for their technical achievements, the game is well beyond anything else on consoles and indeed there are things KZ2 does that Crysis doesn't. However, I'm fortunate enough to have been able to upgrade my PC very recently and I can say that there is nothing,
NOTHING
, on this Earth that even approaches Crysis. I've been trying to find stuff to try on the PC to satisfy my graphics whorishness as much as it did, but it hasn't been fruitful. Not even demoscene stuff. :/ Thing is, it's really a 2011 game that happened to come out on 2007. Perhaps by then there'll be PCs to play it at a smooth 1080p60.

Sound, however, has impressed me more in KZ2 than in any other game, truly amazing. That, and the whole sense of so much stuff going on at the same time. It's war out there!

I still don't understand the rationale. The game is ready. Everyone (well, almost everyone) has reviewed it to kingdom come and now it is also available in most markets. Why the fuck haven't Sony released it yet? I think Sony India has taken a right step in releasing the game sooner. Why let the grey market get the sales?

I dont know why, but for some reason this morning I recalled one of the comments from the round of Previews that came out a few months ago:

Tina Sanchez, community manager: Right away, I feel that the Helghast are plentiful, yet somewhat unsatisfying to fight against. For one, their lack of aesthetic diversity hinders my enjoyment of defeating them. On top of that, the overall character design also seems questionable -- red eyes contrasting dark uniforms make them unnecessarily stand out. In turn, from a player's perspective, the Helghast eyes become the only feature to watch out for on the battlefield -- which distracts from their overall visual design and makes them all blur together into a sea of red eyes that feel one and the same. Despite all that, they're not completely void of offering gratification -- it's funny when you shoot off their helmets and briefly catch them off guard.

After playing through the demo several (maybe 10?) times, I've concluded that this individual doesnt know what they are talking about. The Helghast are a ton of fun to blow the shit out of, much more so than some more diverse enemies from other games such as the Chimera.

You could probably put whatever skin on the Helghast that you wanted, as long as the animations and sound bites remain I think they would still be a very rewarding foe.
 
So I think the word on the street is that the Press Kit from late Jan isn't compatible online, but the Promo Retail one that people like me and nofi got is compatible.

Is that about right?

What is the grey market? Otherwise known as people stealing it and selling it on the streets? I'm just not familiar with this term at all..

I believe that is the term used for any market that is not authorized to sell that copy by the owner. Selling smuggled goods basically.

Ye, i think that sounds plausible at least. If the Promo Retail version of Killzone 2 is based on the final gold build and if it is exactly like the retail version (the only difference being the artwork print on the disc itself), then i would at least assume that the Promo Retail version of Killzone 2 would act like a normal retail copy, but i am not 100% sure. We will at least know the answer for sure in about 2 weeks from now when the retail version of Killzone comes out for sale :)

Makes sense.. Wonder what GG/Sony can and will do about that. Don't have that "grey market" much in the US so I wasn't familiar with the practice.
