Killzone Shadow Fall - Ultra High Bitrate MP Footage

Also, I miss the propaganda speakers :(

Import them straight from KZ2 if you must, they were so convincing and made the multiplayer come to life. That detail in Search and Retrieve was astonishing when I first heard it.

Am I the only one who finds the FOV ridiculously low? Looks like what...45 or so? Graphics are impressive and all but, damn...feels like the gun is glued to my head.

Why is that player all sparkly?

It's a stun ability that the assault class can unlock.

I know because it says so on the screen =D

I just love the nature noises in that map. Must sound amazing when it's sniper vs sniper. Reminds of the first Predator movie for some reason.

They actually managed to get the game to run at 60fps solid in MP. After playing it at PAX Prime I didn't think they would.

Yes, the way soldiers move in real life with all their gear on. CoD soldiers move like puppets in a world where there is no gravity, no inertia or momentum, or friction.

While yes all that gear should way someone down, it needs a balance. In BF I can feel the weight in my soldier, and I still feel speedy. In this game I just feel like a sloth.

Some may like it, but it's just not for me.

Looks on par with Battlefield 4 on Ultra, perhaps slightly better textures on the character models.

I have to disagree...

My jaw dropped many times when playing BF4 on Ultra. KZ: SF looks good but isn't on the same level. Maybe the SP campaign will be more stunning from a graphics standpoint.

Looks really good, although the run animations look pretty janky. I love the way the grenade ticks before it goes boom; I'm a grenade guy and I'm satisfied with what they've done.

And so much respect for no aim assist. I know companies probably feel a lot of pressure to add that just to cater to less skilled players.

Single player in this looks way better than MP

Thread over-hyped the video too much. I expected to be blown away, but I wasn't. It looked really great, but I've been playing Metro LL and Crysis 3 on PC these last few days, and it doesn't compare to those still. Overall picture looked a bit soft, so I do think it'll look better on the PS4 than in this video at least.

Don't get me wrong, I'm super hyped for PS4, and I'm getting Killzone at launch still. Please don't kill me. :)

I agree with everyone who said the FoV looks way too low.

Agreed, framerate at 1080p is impressive however when you compare to this gen's consoles. I also expect the SP to be more impressive visually.

Agree. I think Battlefield 4 on the consoles look better than this. There just seems like more to the levels, this level in particular looks a bit empty with nothing particularly going on.

I want to see some Killzone 2 level design in here! The multiplayer maps for that game were excellent.

That isn't to say I'm disappointed in the game, I still feel Killzone is probably my favourite console FPS. I just don't think it looks as good as a package as Battlefield 4. Characters and other little effects on Killzone could and probably do look better, but I'm generally not looking at my characters for that long in a first person shooter.

You're not. I played this game for a while not realizing what was off about it. It all feels very claustrophobic and tense.

A straight remux won't work. It has .wav audio and I don't believe mp4 can take that. PS3 will probably choke on it anyways.
Thanks for the tip. I got it to work on my PS3 (without it choking!) by remuxing it and dumping the audio track.

If I were getting a launch PS4, this would be the game I was picking up. Probably be the first game I pick up next year when I can get my hands on one (unless they are sold out through when the Order is released, as I'm pretty keen on THAT game).

I do wish people stop comparing games to the PC.

in all fairness, its the only thing to compare it to. I'll have to get bf4 installed on my rig, but watching videos, they are very similar when it comes to the perceived next-gen bells and whistles. Lots of stuff, lots of particles, lots of focus play, lots of motion blur, that nice hdr lighting, edges and textures are looking good. I'm sure BF4 will knock the shit out of it on Ultra settings, but for most decent rig settings, KZ's looking pretty damned good/close.

Its hard to not be impressed by KZ, considering its 1080p/console 60ish fps. Thats pretty impressive for a launch title, and knowing SOny is going to keep upping the ante, its going to get closer to the PC world, more so than competing consoles. Thats a pretty good win for console-only-folks... I'd say.

Went through the video frame by frame, quite unfortunately there appear to be plenty of duplicate frames and some tearing too; average FPS looks to actually be at around 45-50 FPS. In addition to rather blurred out buildings in the background, the popup, the overall lack of complexity in the game situation (though undoubtedly not in the rendering)... Well, it's not 60 fps.
