Killzone Shadowfall MP Screenshots (Sexy)

Looks nice, i am not blown away but it looks much better than previous showing. I find most impressive the trees. Finally good looking 3d trees!
 
That looked pretty amazing. I would have to say the next gen graphics crown is definitely on Shadow Falls head. Its jarring to see the multiplayer look that great.

I think it will be close with Second Son. SS has Open World and sometimes looks just phenomenal.

They still use screen space reflections and particle lighting, per-pixel motion blur is much cheaper than any of those.
Ah okay. I had no idea. It's the only reason i could come up with.

Hmm, maybe just switched off for other purposes. May sound odd, but it's happened before with Uncharted 2 and 3. Where a couple of reveal videos it was gone altogether but they put back in before release.

Was actually originally missing from the Uncharted 3 MP Beta from what I can remember but put back in after. Very odd.

To people surprised by jump in quality...

They showed at meeting game that still had more than half a year of polishing. Now they showed game that has still ~2 months of polishing

Last half of year is dev time is when game is put together and polished and that process goes till GOLD status which will be probably 2 months from now. It is time when game starts from bad looking and changes status to good looking.

You can easily expect game will look even better on release date especially in IQ

That is correct.

- in 11/12 they used dev kits with 2.2GB Vram
- in 12/13 they used dev kits with 4GB Vram
- From Jan 13 they used dev kits wit 8GB Vram (but under the assumption retail was 4GB)
- In February it was announced retail would be 8GB, so since then they've been working to that target.

Bare in mind, the current January 2013 SoC Dev kits are still not final. The final dev kits will likely have more than 8GB for the usual debugging and tools buffer, but I think because of ram chip limitations it's complicated right now or something along those lines.

After that they did tech conf and in one slide there was 4,5 GB. So GG probably knew about 8 GB or maybe they had 8GB in devkits
 
The angle of the weapons in first person is bothering me! :(
It's at least a lot better than it was at E3. It's fine like this, the E3 version's was annoying as hell.

I dont see it in video, i've checked yesterday.

For example, look at those barrels on minigun, they should be blurred, because of speed its firing, but they arent when You stop video frame.
He was talking about the Feb reveal. I think it'll wind up in the game. This demo seems to be using the same post process settings as E3 but has made a lot of other improvements.

That is frequently not an option.

When it isn't you should return the game as faulty and get a full refund.

KZ2, 3, and Mercenary all let you turn off the HUD so I'm pretty sure you'll be able to do it in this.
 
On the wide shot of the rain map, with all of the explosions, there seems to be several petrusite leaks. I was thinking you might get to revisit Helghan in this since one of the NPC's in the Feb reveal mentions that you're back on Vekta at the beginning.
 
A lot of the PC crowd have just tuned in so expect more of that lol.

Strangely, a bunch of them came in a batch lol.

Maybe I'm crazy since I'm a big PC gamer yet I still think this is impressive. Is it because I just enjoy games period without some stake in it? lol

The detail is there, but I honestly think this looks less visually appealing than KZ2. Looks engineered as opposed to crafted. Or some such.

Kind of agree with you here. I think GG have taken the very vocal 'NEEDSMOARCOLOUR!' crowd a bit too seriously. Like you said, KZ2 looks like the final product of a confident team with a clear design goal and aesthetic in mind; KZ3/SF look a tad engineered to please all parties. It still looks superb, though.

On another note, if that is the only shotgun in the game, I will cry.

KZ3 still retains much of the 'Killzone aesthetic'. But yes, KZ2 did have a very unique appearance.
 
Lookin' good. It's going to be tough to decide which game(s) I want to get at launch. Have they announced an official list yet of games that will be available day one like Microsoft did for XB1?

Don't they only have 5GB to play around with?

The gameplay looked good, mayhemic and brutal. Wish they did away with the score popups though, it'd further differentiate the game from CoD and BF. Also, any confirmation spawn beacons are in? Steven ter Heide mentioned them in a tweet but it seemed kind of ambiguous.

this. i really no longer know what to buy anymore. i can't afford all games i want.

i am not buying drive club because i am a plus member. but i sure as hell want need for speed, BF4, Call of Duty, Killzone


this game multiplayer graphics wise its god damn impressive.

It's the lack of post processing right now. Hopefully they up it a bit before launch. GG's post process stuff always makes games look much more organic.

I keep going back and forth on that, t's still the soil of the planet Vekta but the other side is Helghast territory. Both work.

They could have it disabled in MP for competitive reasons. A lot of people dislike its use in competitive multiplayer games (even though obmb is great and screenblur is usually crap)

For example: Crysis 1 disabled obmb in MP for competitive reasons also. You had to enable it through a cvar (r_motionblur 103)
 
I love how dramatically different this game looks than its predecessors (art direction). Big fan of developers who take risks like that.
