It was pitched as 'Dungeons without Dragons'. It's basically a medieval RPG without ANY kind of fantasy element, first person cam, strives for realism.
 
I have KCD1 from steam sale $5, still haven't played it but I will be buying KCD2 full priced day one to support this studio. Then it'll stay in my backlog until I finish the first game.
 
Those are impressive numbers for such an old game. Kingdom Come 2 should do gangbusters on Steam.

Even so, no need to throw other devs under the bus whatever you think of their game.

I remember Retardera up in arms cancelling this game because of those tweets. I never heard of the game before. SO i have to thank Retardera for making me aware of a gem of a game that now im a fan of. Still needs a better combat system though, but everthing else is probably the most imersive medieval experience i had in a RPG.
 
Less time tweeting and more time making a semi decent combat system and next Gen graphics in a game that took you 7 years to make. Thanks.

Steam is more than twice biger than it was in 2018 (39m vs 18m peak users), KDC would have a much greater launch numbers it if was released head to head with Veilguard.

Didn't think about an overall increase in steam users though I'm not sure how much that would directly add to this particularly games users.

24-hour peak refers to the last 24 hours from NOW, not when the game was released. He's basically saying "more people are still playing my old game than your new game". That's all.

Generally I'm not a fan of first person either. I hate most FPS games. I made exceptions for certain titles, like Portal and so forth. Kingdom Come Deliverance was another such title. There was jank to be sure, but it was an experience like no other. I enjoyed my time with it.

I highly recommend not passing this up.

While true, developers are also humans living in the 21th century and people love to vent in social networks. Who knows how many ordeals they had to go through to release the game when others are able to burn hundreds of millions of dollars in games that are doomed to fail.

To me they should let their game speak for itself rather going for these cheap shots.

When original Nier came out not only hated by most reviews but also got lot of shit over Kaine's design. But for his next game Taro made main character even more sexy and currently 2B has become one of the most popular character in modern games and selling tones of copy. Yoko Taro have every right to get his revenge those fuckers but instead he let his games speak for itself.
 
When looking at the OPs tweet, it really isn't beating it by that much. Still kind of funny.

You talk like they can magically create huge budget for themselves so they can create this awesome next gen visuals you speak of. Warhorse still an indie developer with a relatively small budget. There's a reason why they're sticking to Cry Engine because it was the cheapest thing to do. Be fuckin real.

I saw some of the comments under Vavra's post and man, some people are absolutely in shambles over Veilguard's underperformance. They're in full cope mode lol

I don't think they're indie anymore, they were acquired by THQ Nordic/Embracer years ago.

The best part is I think i remember it was a digital foundry member who got butthurt about it and linked some historical article in German talking about how since there where records of a black king going on tour to France in the 11th century from what would be Egypt today (but no records in any countries supposedly of him arriving) that the fact their where no records specifically stating black people didn't exist at the time then they should be all over Europe because of the records saying the king would be going on tour (which was southern Europe as well across the coast, so not even close to where KCD takes place)

And Digital Foundry man was upset that this master class evidence proved that the founder of Warhorse was a racist bigot for believing the lack of any evidence saying "black people 100% did not live here" in historical documents proves that they must have been there and therefore should be in the game, stating that the founders only credentials was that he currently lived there and therefore should know shit about history, failing to mention that KCD used historians... you know because that would get in the way of his rant.

I believe they highlighted that if the king has passed through Greece, which had excellent record keeping at the time, then the king should have been mentioned if he made it though. He wasn't, so the conclusion was that since black people must have been so common in Europe at the time then a black king arriving would not even be worth a mention and therefore no historical documents mentioning him was proof that the whole of Europe was full of free Africans just wandering about by the 11th century, that a black king showing up wasn't even worth documenting.

Yes that's the level of mental gymnastics that was on show.
