I am not good at describing my gaming experiences due to the fact I luck knowledge in game design and such, so sorry for that.
But I know what I like, and KCD2 is just THE game, the best game I played so far, and I am not sure 100% why it is exactly?
I am 60h in only on my PS5PRO, but these 60h are already the best I ever had in gaming.

If you still didn't try it, there is high chance you will have similar experience, so give it a try!

So to just to show the tip of iceberg what is so good about it:
  • The game constantly surprises you how rich in gameplay details it is: for example:
    • if you run into shopkeepers store being chased by guards, shopkeeper will run towards guards, point at you and command to pacify you.
    • You have simple mechanic of whistling to spawn horse or dog near you (behind you), but when you do it in settled land, people will try to ask you why you are whistling and even it can get you into trouble with guards.
    • Very complex system for stealing, murdering or doing any other crime, that put to shame any other title on the market including Thief etc
    • etc, etc
  • Combat is so fun and complex, I am always smiling when I find in forests bandits camp, killing them with war hammer was never fun like that, if I don't die in the process that is!
  • It looks marvelous on my PS5PRO and it even doesn't use RT, only some software based equivalent.
    • It is the most realistic game due to the attention too details of foliage and urban objects.
  • Equipment system with its durability also puts to shame anything on the market
  • Story is really engaging, just like prequel was!
  • etc, etc
Do yourself a favor, grab a copy of KCD2 and play it!

In general it is KCD1 on steroids, with much lesser number of technical issues so it looks like Warhorse learned their lesson, and are becoming one of the best studios on the market.

while i appreciate how much of an incredible game it is i have absolutely zero interest in ever playing it, i dont have the time for these living world immersive life sim rpgs.

I felt the same way about the first game when I played it - instant classic, amazing experience, very immersive. I just haven't yet bit the bullet and purchased the sequel, but it won't be long. It really helped soothe the loss of Elder Scrolls, since that series seems to be dead.
