KINGDOM HEARTS HD 1.5 ReMIX PAX East Trailer

The dialogue does not work as well as KH1 ect. It's not bad but I think it's the weakest one of the voiced games.

Voices for KH1 and re:CoM are unmodified.

I hope they take the time to adjust the lipsynch for English.

Lipsynch can't fix what's fundamentally wrong with Re:CoM's english dub voice acting, and that is the fact that they were unable or unwilling to resynch lips to match proper voice acting so they had to do the reverse, synch their lines to the Japanese lip synching. This had the unfortunate result of some lines sounding stilted or coming off way too fast or too slow. Since they're not planning to redub the lines, even if they fix the lipsynch (no reason not too now, they're aren't working with FMV scenes anymore) the dub itself will still be rather low par.

KH1 and (hopefully, fingers crossed) Days won't have that problem.

Looking forward to this and 2.5. Wish they kept the story as simple and clean as the first game though. Would have been a lot more memorable.

I never beat ansem in KH1 or the halloween kids in KH2 :(

Am I the only one who thinks people saying Kingdom Hearts has a bad story are overstating facts? You know what has a bad story? Vanquish. And Dead Space, and the Resistance series. Those are examples of a bad story.

Is it complicated? Is it a mess? Does it get cheesy at times? Yeah; but, personally, when I think of "games with an enjoyable story", one of the first series to come to my mind is Kingdom Hearts.
I would agree with you but then KHDDD came out.

Will this have a Chinese version?

Not announced yet, and I think it is unlikely. The Chinese versions of FFXIII are something Sony worked out with Square Enix I believe, and the problem here is that S-E doesn't own the Kingdom Hearts IP. Disney does, and they have the final say on any business matters.

DDD's revelations, like Xehanort's ultimate plan, are pretty dumb.
It's dumb but makes sense in the KH universe's logic where the heart can do all sorts of things, all sorts of things can be done to the heart and you can even move hearts into virtual worlds & shit, time travel (with all its limitations that were presented) is really not that farfetched.

At least it will make for a super mega epic final confrontation.

Ahh thanks. That's a little unfortunate.

I'll just buy both versions then.

Day one on this, mostly because I never finished the first one or played any of the other games.

I know...I'm a terrible person...

Is the Japanese version import friendly? I dunno about waiting for around the time PS4 pretty much comes out in Fall. Bad timing on Square's part.

I just want the lips to match up to the voices in CoM. That's all.

If they can redo entire soundtracks, hoping for that to be fixed is at least put back into the realm of possibility, right?

Looking at some posts I suppose it cannot be said enough that the framerate has been totally fixed in the retail Japanese version. I played the entirety of KH Final Mix and am about half into Re:CoM and everything runs like a charm.

Only strange thing I ever had in 40 hours or so is Aladdin's card making the sound bug a little when he's onto too many foes at once.

Also, the event scenes of Re:CoM are still prerendered, so I really don't think they'll bother more than last time with lip-sync.

... why do this? Why do it at all? WHY WOULD THEY DO IT AGAIN?

I don't get it. Are those cutscenes so graphic intensive that they could potentially melt the PS2/PS3 if done in real-time?

My guess is that it probably started with two people testing a few things when the possibility of an HD version was under consideration and then more people jumped on when it became a full fledged project.

There are 3 port programmers, 6 additional programmers, 5 planners, and a number of art staff and supervisors working on the various improvements and changes in the HD Remix. It definitely wasn't done by 2 people. :P

Lol Kotaku.

How big is the Osaka team? Could the rest be working on the next Kingdom Hearts game?
They could and possibly are. Nomura considers the Osaka Team as the KH Team nowadays and I think they've confirmed that they have a big unannounced project in development. That could very well be Kingdom Hearts III. I'm not sure if they are big enough to finish a project like it all by themselves, but I'm sure they can at least start it and get it well underway before they get help shifted to their project after some other games are finished.

The artstyle of this scales really well.

What is it with Kingdom Hearts recent trailers and showing showing off end-game cutscenes and bosses though? Was this always the case?

Started with KH2 I think. They have gotten more spoilery and spoilery. BBS and DDD had some insane 7 minute trailers that show pretty much everything.

The safe rule for a new KH game seems to be that if trailer is longer than 3 minutes you should not see it :lol.

Could the rest be working on the next Kingdom Hearts game?
Yes
