As opposed to what? Who buys games on Xbox? And even with the Switch 2, they'd probably only do "cloud version" bull shit. PC will get late port as always.

So I take it you already have either a PC or an Xbox.
And instead of the game just being made available to you for $70 you'd rather have Sony make an exclusivity deal so you need to spend an extra $450 on a ps5 if you want to play it?

Nah - Kingdom Hearts needs to go away for good. I hate what it has become.

What started as a light "hearted" 😌 fusion of Disney and final fantasy became an entirely nonsensical universe devoid of final fantasy, absent any real stakes, and a free pass for Nomura to exercise his poorly aging game design philosophies.

I would hate for Sony to spend money to make KH4 exclusive. If I had to guess, this will be another flop and the final wake up call for SE before they have to gut the old guard and instead focus on making the titles that their fanbase are interested in.

Why do you give a shit? Are you earning money for every PS exclusive released? It's just a plastic box ffs, the more people are able to play it, the better.

Some of you are really weird.
Would be great if more people can also play Mario games, Zelda games, Pokemon mainline games, metroid games etc. etc.

it's probably another 2-3 years away from being released.. KH3 was the longest I had a preorder for, which was 7+ years and that's not mentioning the 10 year hype train surrounding the announcement to the game actually being released. Waiting for KH4 to drop just to get a PS5 is like skipping this generation entirely.
Game will probably be cross gen for PS6. 2027 at the earliest.

No I would play it if they did so.

I've already highlighted in a different comment that current "consoles" are inferior to handheld gaming PC's in the grand scheme of things. I am just fine with playing something like Spiderman with slightly reduced graphics whilst having access to almost every game. Which is kinda sad in a way.

"It's just a plastic box" yet it can project a lot more. I'm no console warrior but consoles such as the PS2 are well known for a reason.

ON a unrelated note there seems to be 2 kinds of comments in this thread:

1: Reasons why this would be a good/bad idea. Actual forum behaviour

2: Keyboard warring that has zero actual weight/consists of shit talking OP

If your comment fits the description of #2, just know anyone could deploy an LLM here backed by a few accounts and flip your insults back on you. An LLM never gets bored, will always have a answer and can create thousands of edits to gain popularity. Your techniques are outdated. This is a forum for discussion. Treat it like such.

To an extent I understand why. It's the same reason you buy a Nintendo console: but unlike Nintendo, Square has zero reason to make a game exclusive anymore they aren't in the business of selling consoles and that's up to Sony's boutique studios to fill that exclusives gap not third parties.

As shown by the subpar technical side of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Square Enix doesn't have single-platform game-making capabilities in the AAA space on par with other Japanese publishers, which makes it needless to say that the end result would've been much worse (see the disaster that was Final Fantasy XV) had they gone for a day one multiplatform launch.

Honestly? They should limit their output to just making first-party games on a second-party capacity for Nintendo (i.e. Dragon Quest, Octopath, Bravely, etc) and PlayStation (Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, Drakengard/NieR, Parasite Eve), in order to have access to the best-in-class technical support and technologies from the console markers themselves.

I mean I can kinda understand a purely business discussion of say "should Sony do X as a strategic move to help themselves"

But framing it as a feelings discussion like "I want an excuse to buy this very expensive box, this would solve that problem", you sir are a very weird dude

Anyway, I don't really think it's good for Square to be such a money hat whore. They needed to get away from it and stay away from it, for their own good. Even though I get the "vibes" of their IPs being firmly planted on PS in the past. They started getting all disjointed and weird with it. I think it hurts the brands, which means they are less worth money hatting the more they do it, so Sony should leave it alone now.
