i remember liking the slim shady lp because i thought it was good due to marketing. after repeated listening, i realized that the subject matter was pretty stupid and lacked a lot of depth.

i dont remember much about marshall mathers lp except for the fact that he made some really stupid songs

ill admit that em has talent but i dont like how he makes himself out to be really important

50 cent is crap, pure and simple. His songs have no meaning other than to boost his image.

Eminem has crappy lyrics and most of his songs are about taking drugs, killing someone (his ex-wife most of the time), stealing some shit. And he recollects on the attention created by these songs of his to make him sound "reckless" and "say whatever I want" shit. ANYONE CAN DO THAT, IT'S ALL NEGATIVE ATTENTION.

And his new band D12? what the hell is that? 5 black guys and him, have they made anything even decent?

I was referring to this post, DoL. It only sounds like you've heard half of Eminem's songs, and you seem to think D12 is Eminem's "new" band. That's all I was referring to, I wasn't calling you clueless because your opinion differs from mine regarding talent.

Anyway, while we're still on the topic of talent, what I mean is, Eminem/50/whoever are very talented, they're excellent rappers. Note that, I'm not referring to *what* they rap about, I'm just saying that as rappers, they're very talented. Past that, the argument becomes very subjective, and I don't want to get wrapped up in some long-winded argument like that

ur going to hate on eminem for subject matter? lol he has one of the most varied styles in mainstream. he can jump from schock to humor to serious shit about his life. if anything i applaud him for being different. i dont wanna hear some gangsta shit all the time from every artist. sadly thats what em is drifting towards.


but even if his subject matter isnt the best, his flow, crazy word play, and lyrics put him as one of the best out today.

Eminem sure. 50 cent? Hellllllllllllllllllllll no. He is not a highly talented rapper. If he's a higly talented emcee than so is Fred Durst.
