Ahahahaha! I'd love to see what people defending the flag saying how it's not racist say once this happens.

yes, that is precisely what is happening.
It saddens me that this is allowed, not because I want to censor, but because the KKK has been using terrorist tactics for centuries, and they get some kind of pass.
They are composed of criminals and willing to commit criminal acts of terror to further their goal.
Would you allow ISIS to hold a rally in your town?

I kind of want to see some iconic picture come from all this - showing non-KKK protesters looking awkward standing alongside KKK members.
They're going to say they are a small minority and don't represent every racist in the south.
I don't think there's any legal basis they can use to NOT grant them the permit. I say let them let the media descend upon it, and show them for the horrible people they are.
In 2015, hundreds of guys in white hoods are going to be shouting "whit e power" on the steps of the Sough Carolina State House, defending the battle flag of the Confederacy. I can think of no better thing that would show the hateful things this flag stands for.
If you cant tell they are trying to wipe us out of the history book,
Guys what if the KKK actually isn't racist anymore and is doing this because they know this will only help get the flag taken down?
Seriously though, how can they actually think they are going to get their way for anything they rally for. They're the goddamn KKK.
Do terrorist groups and hate groups not realize how unpopular they are, or do they just not understand the concept of reverse psychology?
My girlfriend's boss is in the KKK, so yes.
PS I'm black and she's white.
Well that's a pretty messed up situation.
It is illegal to provide material support to a terrorist organization, and the KKK was founded as a terrorist organization in the 19th century. So there is that.
But it has nothing to do with white supremacy, I don't get it...
The kkk is still a thing?
I had no idea the KKK were anti-semitic.
it's actually about heritage in political journalism
They're not legally defined as a terrorist organization though.

By my limited understanding of the white supremacist movement, they believe that minorities are the pawns in the secret Jewish conspiracy to drive the white race to extinction. It's all connected.
Have y'all seen a KKK rally in the last few years? Basically
Over the weekend, however, an activist, Bree Newsome, climbed the 30-foot flag pole and cut the flag down. She was arrested, and the flag was replaced shortly thereafter. Hours later, dozens also held a pro-flag rally outside of the statehouse.
I've seen some of my friends on Facebook try to justify it's existence with this very same comment but idk, time and time again, it's obviously proven wrong. There is a huge attachment to it being more about white supremacy than honoring those "ancestors" who fought for something that was lost anyways. So idk, I think it has everything to do with what the majority perceive it to be.

Everything is going according to plan.
They'll probably say along the lines of, "KKK is a small group of folks that I would least worry about. The stars and bars represent the roots of my proud southern heritage." Something non-chalant like that.
Protecting the military funeral not gay folk.
They're just gonna let a known terrorist group hold a rally in front of a government building in the same state a racist white terrorist shot up a black church just a few days before? Is that right?
Waiting for the defense force.
All of the above, plus racism. This is a mental illness problem. Or a class problem. Or a freedom of speech issue. Or something.
