PS : Fuck Nioh
Nioh probably did. I think the 5 mil is more like their expectation, as they described Rise of the Ronin the same before announcing it.So probably not that new dynasty warriors game, since they tend to be around a million sellers, with some outliers here and there like DW8 selling 2m+, one piece warriors 4 did 3m+ though.
Actually don't think they have anything that's ever sold 5+, even the nintendo exclusive stuck at 4+; wonder what they've got cooking.
Dunno, nioh did 3 million after three years, two more years later and the entire franchise was at 7 million, so I'm not sure either of the games have hit 5 million by now.Nioh probably did. I think the 5 mil is more like their expectation, as they described Rise of the Ronin the same before announcing it.

- Heavy emphasis on shitty OCD inducing loot - it's almost Diablo level at times
Need this. I wish they would just release a Tecmo NES collection with a bunch of extras and BTS info.Release a NES Ninja Gaiden collection on modern platforms you cowards!
Cheers.- Heavy emphasis on shitty OCD inducing loot - it's almost Diablo level at times
- Stilted, X-axis movement where your character is "planted"/glued to the X-axis, the lack of a jump button really emphasises this, to explain it better, it's like comparing the movement/feel of Street Fighter Vs Tekken : the latter feels like the character have their feet cemented to the ground for a lack of a better explanation.
In the end, it's more of a soulslike than something like Ninja Gaiden (i always found the comparisons to NG super weird)
- Covoluted gameplay systems : they're complicated just for the sake of being complicated or shall i say, just for the sake of "hey, our title it's totally not a copy-paste soulslike gaiz ! "
The active reload...eeeerm..."ki pulse" has got to be one the most needless, shitty, copy-pasted mechanics.
- Absolutely terrible level design (and shortcuts)
- Mediocre graphics and art-direction
- Nioh 2 has even more needlessly convoluted systems because...why not
More importantly, they don't feel fun to me since everything feels like a grind, there's no atmosphere, no interesting characters, no real story, no real drive behind it besides the "hur durr, here's your masocore vidya where you get to enjoy L33T builds for you to post online and feel good about it" - they're more like an arcade game where you gotta finish the mazochistic levels and bosses "just 'cause", there's no mystery behind them, no environmental storytelling , nothing, they're as "dry" as they come always compared to FROM's games which while they're difficult, they're heavy on "soul" and atmosphere.
And before anyone says "it's a skill issue", i do enjoy masochisitc games/difficulties even at the tender age of 45, shit, i completed NG2 on MN difficulty barely 2 years ago for the first time.
The real problem though - at least for me - is that i find the heavy emphasis on action and bullshit dungeon crawler level of OCD inducing loot to not gel well at all, couple that with all of the above and...
One of the reasons we still haven't got a new Ninja Gaiden is because shit like this sells well, and to be frank, both Nioh games are as mediocre as they come, i really do believe that the only reason they sold well is because everyone loves the souls formula AND the fact that people don't seem to get bored by shiny loot and XP bars/lvl-ing up.
Cheers
Owned by Nintendo (in the same way Sony owns Rise of the Ronin), but I'm pretty sure that they've been negotiating it considering that we already got Project Zero 4 and 5.New Fatal Frame, or at the very least, gives us a remaster of Wii's FF2 for the hell of it.
I'm hoping the 2 AAA games are nioh 3 and nioh 41st game is surely a Rise of the Ronin sequel
2nd one...i REALLY hope it's a new Ninja Gaiden but, who am i kidding, it's probably gonna be loot-shit-tastic Nioh 3 since everyone and their grandma's just can't do without their Soulslike flavored game of the month...
PS : Fuck Nioh
As much as I love Nioh, I think Ronin's parry mechanic is more engaging.Still crazy to me that Rise of the Ronin managed its sales performance. Particularly because this spells the end of Nioh
Koei Tecmo is a company that could erupt with the right game, in the same way FromSoftware did.
All the things you hate about nioh is what I love about it. We'll at least the first game. I didn't really dig into the 2nd. The first game did have compelling characters and a story, the 2nd was create a character and was more open that way. It also oozes atmosphere so don't know what your on about there.- Heavy emphasis on shitty OCD inducing loot - it's almost Diablo level at times

Reamke/Remaster of old games. Only Nintendo funds those games development anymore and videogames have gotten too expensive to be funding a game like that anymore. Also, a new FF won't sell 5 million. It's dead Jim.I'M REALLY HAPPY FOR YOU AND I'M A LET YOU FINISH BUT FATAL FRAME NEEDS A NEW GAME. A NEW GAME!!!
I gonna start supporting more of their games tbh.
