Your 5 most anticipated games over the next few years? (Announcements or Release).

I've only got unannounced games:

RDR3
Next mainline Mario
Next mainline Zelda

Those are the only ones I'm really anticipating.

As somebody who thinks Sekiro had the greatest melee combat oat, I'm very excited for the next Fromsoft singleplayer Original IP directed by Miyazaki. This excludes souls combat games as I'm ironically not much into souls.

Also excited for whatever next VR title will blow up (astro bot rescue mission, half life alyx).

Also excited for the next Chinese game that blows up and potentially wins GOTY this time.

And finally, excited for when production costs get lower through AI so that small teams/one person are creating their own clair obscurs and we'll see an explosion of AA passion games from all over the world.

Masaru Yamamura was the designer behind Sekiro and also directed Armored Core VI which also had AMAZING combat.

  1. Clockwork Revolution
  2. Light No Fire
  3. Thick as Thieves
  4. Ninja Gaiden 4
  5. Onimusha: Way of the Sword

I'll throw in some extra games I'm looking forward to after they leave early access:
  • Timberborn
  • Dyson Sphere Program
  • Deep Rock Galactic Survivor
  • Manor Lords
  • Hades 2

FFVII Remake pt. 3, Pragmata, Resident Evil 9, GTA VI, Witcher IV, Blood of the Dawnwalker, Max Payne remake, Judas and whatever Half-Life game valve is cooking up.

I was only really looking forward to two games I can think of, Kerbal 2 and Subnautica 2

And they utterly shit the bed, which is typical.

My most wanted game already came out, Homeworld 3, and that utterly shit the bed..

At this point I've given up on looking forward to things in the gaming space :messenger_tears_of_joy:

1. Resident Evil 9
2. Physint
3. Virtua Fighter 6
4. Intergalactic
5. Silent Hill Remake
6. Onimusha: Way of the Sword
7. Metal Gear Solid Delta
8. Silent Hill f
9. Pragmata
10. Jet Set Radio

No Rest for the Wicked
Currently playing it on Steam. It's awesome! They could easily isolate what they have now and release that as the 1.0 version. Then they can keep adding stuff later year after year like Hello Games on No Man's Sky. They'll never reach the mysterious point where it's 1.0 the way they're doing it right now, they have too much planned from the sound of it while they're also adding layer upon layer upon layer of fluff and doing balancing on all that.

5 is not enough so I will just drop 10 lol

Broken Sword: Parzival's Stone
Gears of War: E-Day
Professor Layton and the New World of Steam
The Witcher Remake
007 First Light
The Elder Scrolls VI
Final Fantasy VII Remake 3
Gothic Remake
Max Payne Remake
Warhammer 40.000: Dark Heresy

My pie in the sky, if we are lucky list (forced myself to limit the remakes):
1. Resident Evil 1 Remake
2. Cyberpunk sequel
3. Indiana Jones sequel
4. Anything Bloodborne
5. Next 3D Mario

Announced games:
1. Re9
2. Metroid Prime 4
3. Gears EDay
4. Mass Effect 5
5. Perfect Dark (oh, wait ....)

1. Metroid Prime 2 HD
2. Metroid Prime 3 HD
3. Metroid Prime 4
4. Other stuff
5. Something else

Not a totally serious list, but I've been holding off replaying Prime 2 and 3 since rumors of Metroid Prime Remastered came into existence. That did actually come out, and it was an amazing replay experience. However, 2 was my favorite in the series. It's the hardest, but for me, it had the best music, atmosphere, and it's the only one I ever got into speed running/sequence breaking.

I'm gonna blow my load if/when the day finally comes where they do a full Metroid direct. I've been waiting patiently since 2017, but with Prime 4 finally slated for this year, they can't make me wait that much longer, right... Right?
I am just here to say I am happy to see someone else recognizing Echoes as the best of the trilogy.

FF7R3 I have mixed feelings about. I'm excited because I love FF7 but the remake series has gone downhill very very rapidly for me starting with the first one. Really dislike the story changes but I'm (hilariously) giving SE the benefit of the doubt here that they won't royally fuck up the third one's ending like they did Rebirth. 🫠

A ton of games I am curious about that look good. Wouldn't say excited, yet.

Though, truly excited to dig into System Shock 2 R that just released.

There's plenty, actually. This is a random unordered sample to fill those 5 spots:

Showa american story
Chronos: The new dawn
Mudang: two hearts
Crimson desert
Phantom blade 0

Grounded 2
Slay the Spire 2
Subnautica 2
Final Fantasy 9 Remake
Decapolice

Those last 2 might be in trouble though. But at least the first 3 are guaranteed to come out.

many incredible games on the horizon, but if I had to choose 5 it's probably

1. GTA6
2. Intergalactic,
3. Phantom Blade Zero
4. Saros
5. and that yet unnamed sci fi game from PLAYDEAD.

All 2026 and beyond. So many more tho.

This year I'm stoked and day one in on Ghost of Yotei, Silent Hill f, Ninja Gaiden 4, Crimson Desert and the final chapter of Darkest Dungeon 2 Kingdoms.

I started to say I wasn't hyped for anything but that isn't true. Here are my upcoming hype games.

New Fire Emblem
Bloodborne remake

Zelda & Elder Scrolls are too far out. I'm too familiar with Fallout 3 and GTA IV to want remakes. Wait and see on Witcher and Yotei.

Those are the only ones I'm really anticipating.

If they make another RDR game then I don't see it launching until the 2030s.

I think for Rockstar it's looking like:

2026/27 will be about GTA6 and GTA online on consoles
2027/2028 launching it on PC
2028/2029 porting it to next-gen

Then after that point they may announce something like RDR3.

Hope I'm wrong of course and we hear about it sooner, but am not counting on it.

I bought it months ago on Steam but haven't touched it. I pretty much bought it off good faith as I love Moon Studios and the artistic direction of their games. I'm glad to hear you're enjoying it and I look forward to when the game leaves early access and launches.

Playing it right now. If was actually my GOTY for awhile last year, so I'm definitely a fan. But had to start over this year after all the patching, so still early on in this playthrough.

The core mechanics are all in place, feels great to play, and there is already tons of fluff.

Biggest problem imo is the loot. The places they put loot chests on are all great and the map layout is fantastic. But it's random loot and you're mostly finding crafting pieces.

I don't understand where the idea to do it that way are coming from. But I don't like it. Avowed is the same. Makes looting boring.

They're making an action RPG but they haven't played Elden Ring or what's the deal?

Either way it's still great. 8.5/10 in it's current state for me right now.

Hmm… the only ones that I am really interested are:

  • Owlcat's "The Expanse", hopefully this will get me my Mass Effect fix.
  • FFVII P3 - I know some folks don't like the series, but I liked Remake and loved Rebirth.
  • Larian's next game. No idea what it is but I am sure it will be good!
  • EUV - wait for a year or two post release though for it to get good.

I would have said Witcher 4, but not interested in Ciri's adventures. And I don't trust CDPR on Cyberpunk either.

FF 7-3. Hopefully the series doesn't suffer from Mass Effect syndrome. Remake was solid, Rebirth was great.
GTA 6 because I want to know whether it lives up to the ludicrous hype surrounding it.

Sounds about right unfortunately. Well, as long as it's as perfect as RDR2 when it releases they can take their sweet time. This time I'll probably ride slowly instead of fast so that the game will last me a longer time. And I'm hoping they make hunting and fishing much more challenging.
