Imagine if this retroactively fixes the narrative problems of V and has the best writing of any game to date.

Then again I also dream of Nicolas Cage winning another Oscar so I think I have a thing for the impossible becoming reality.

I don't think you understand. We don't care if you actually know anything or not, we care that you behave in the most irritating manner while trying to be an attention whore on this forum. So once you're wrong, you're gone.

So you're saying that if I get most of the things right and one thing wrong, I'm banned? That isn't fair.

!

...

Seems really out there. I doubt I'll have someone to play this with so I'll probably never play it anyway, but it doesn't sound too appealing in the first place.

The Metal Gear fanbase are lunatics but have you never heard of a vocal minority before? MGSV had plenty of flaws but it was still a great game and only lost out to two of the best games of this generation so far in GAFs GOTY vote.

Anyway, wow. I'm not completely against buying a Kojima-less Metal Gear but this sounds like a blatant, unimaginative cash in. Do not want.

I know, I'm talking about specifically the "vocal minority" that plagues every thread where MGSV is mentioned. Now people are acting as if it was the peak of Kojima's career as a story teller and that any game without him can't possibly be any good. The faults with V were 100% Kojima.

You act like it doesn't sound like Kojima would do this shit.

It seems like this was planned in parallel to MGSV.

Exactly. This side story was actually set up in V's main storyline in a way that is oddly purposed for a Kojima game. People pretending that "the real creator" of Metal Gear would never attempt to pull off something so random (or create a side series based on the mainline) are fooling themselves. I get that the trailer may not be the most thrilling thing on planet earth, but it wasn't hot garbage either.

That is the saddest, and funniest thing I've seen in a while. It's, ok it's stupid, and this is MGS universe I'm talking about. This is the most stupidest thing I have seen from a game company. Oh boy, what the heck.

Edit: I highly doubt Kojima would have taken it to a left 4 dead with horrible nameless heroes, and bad trailer presentation direction.

It honestly doesnt sound that bad, I need to see some gameplay first though.

Dont know why people are tripping out. As a fan of Metal Gear since Snakes Revenge (I know not cannon) I couldnt even finish MGS5, and traded it in for Mad Max

So in my mind they would have to total shit the bed for me to question the game. Taking the wait and see approach.

Its not adding to or extending the MGS story (I feel like MGS5 ruin it) so I cant understand what people mean insinuating its damaging the IP
It's just a zombie survival game. With so much you can do with the MGS property, why go for the most overused genre?

So you're saying that if I get most of the things right and one thing wrong, I'm banned? That isn't fair.
No, he's saying it doesn't matter if you're right if you keep teasing people in annoyngly crypitc ways without a track record to back you up.

"Hehehe you guys will see it" ad nauseam gets old really fast and thats all you do.

You're acting like this is stuff Kojima wouldn't have wrote as well given the opportunity.

I mean look Metal Gear Solid V already had zombies and wormholes. The only difference here is that they're straight crystal zombies instead of parasite zombies.

I feel like there's a distinction between Kojima man-attached-to-baby-via-umbilical-cord-weird and crystal zombies. Kojima is insane, not lazy.

I made a suggestion a while back about making a new Dino crisis with the Resident evil 6 combat engine,
now- I've never played MGSV, how good is the combat engine to be ported into a zombie like world.
That's all that matters to me.

Ok it wasn't clear but I made a post that was a bit more clear later no? That matters no? I believe the corrections were made the same day no?

Your problem, as other users have mentioned, is the way you go about it. It's like vague thoughts that are THE TRUTH because they happen to line up.

You don't speak with definity, but a looseness. It's for that reason alone people don't even consider you an insider.

100%? Konami had absolutely nothing to do with it now?

Some notes;
The zombie-like enemies seem similar to those creepy ones from Phantom Pain
There's a Metal gear of some kind
Motherbase Soldiers are transported via wormhole to an alternate dimension of some kind
Takes place after Ground Zeroes
Motherbase survivors appear in a semi-zombie-like state in Phantom Pain

Maybe this alternate dimension is a testing ground for the treatment stuff they did to those supersoldiers(and Quiet), or they send failed byproducts here?

And maybe sahelanthropus is the metal gear at the end, and this alternate place is a testing site for it?

And again, I love the fact that these soldiers, after being transported to another place with zombies, their one solitary goal is to get back home to Big Boss and Mother Base.

What did Konami have to do with the story (or lack there of) that people complain about time after time in every thread? What did Konami have to do with the introduction of tapes instead of hours worth of cutscenes? What did Konami have to do with the "barren" open world that people complain about? What did Konami have to do with the useless chore of building motherbase (which you had nothing to do in?)

The major complaints of the game was the direction that Kojima decided to take the series in. Not Konami.

Remember when Derrick01 used to derail every thread he popped up in? Batzi does it worse and isn't funny like he was.

Every single MGS thread, every time. Also this game looks really, really bad.

dear lord... this is going to be FILLED with microtransactions.

As soon as I saw the dude using a shotgun on the not-zombies i said "how much are they going to charge for the one that has a different colour...?"

Set directly after the events of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, Survive sees the members of Militaires Sans Frontières not killed in that game’s finale transported through wormholes into an alternate universe, where they’re forced to battle a force of crystalline zombies and, it seems, at least one Metal Gear itself.

But I did mention before that I was NOT an insider and that I was getting my information from a source. He fucks up, I fuck up. I can't be more accurate than I am because I am not the source.

Konami could be reading this as I type this and decides to fuck the person who leaked the info, so they can change the dates at the last min.

Just for the record, many gaming publishers give out PLACEHOLDER dates as official release dates to some retailers to see who leaks it first so that they know who they trust in the future. It is something common and many publishers do that. What I am trying to say is that if an insider tells you something but something else happens, it doesn't mean he was lying but sometimes publishers take measures to make sure these insiders don't always ruin it for them.

Stop posting.

If you could have done it without constant tired MGSV memes, wink emojis and allusion to the most cryptic point possible, people probably wouldn't mind.

yes, Konami is actively changing release dates for their biggest franchise because you posted a release date on a gaming forum.

Well ain't that bloody convenient

"MGS3 REMAKE YOU READ HERE FIRST"
"I WAS RIGHT ABOUT THE COOP GAME WASN'T I"
"Now now guys, I'm not an insider, my source could very well be wrong"

Not saying they will change it because of me posting something. All I am saying is that publishers do that kind of thing where they send out fake dates to blacklist retailers.

I agree most of my complaints for MGSV was the direction. I feel like Konami gave him the time and money.

Maybe the only thing I could fault Konam for is finally pulling the plug on him, before he could finish. But the game was the game though, I dont think Chapter 3 would have "changed" it

Heh, I'm somewhat getting a kick out of the hyperbolic reactions in this thread. Given the sequel driven, spinoff legacy of the gaming industry, I feel a title of this nature was bound to come into existence whether Kojina attached himself directly or otherwise. I see some folk conveniently forgetting that the man behind the franchise was pitching a "Rising" sequel about the Cyborg Ninja/Gray Fox fighting off nanomachine-powered zombies as well. "Metal Gear" isn't a sacred property and it's just finally catching up to the same treatment as "Resident Evil" (Umbrella Corps) or even "Legacy of Kain" (Nosgoth). I'm quite thankful Kojima has been booted from the company as it finally allows him to pursue new concepts when franchise fatigue pretty much did irreversible damage to the storyline after the third part. Admittedly, I'm disappointed it isn't a full fledge remake of "MGS3" as some probably desired, but a small, multiplayer piece can be a decent training ground for a bigger installment. If there's anyway to play offline single-player with bots, I'll likely give it a shot. There's still some talented programmers and directors being underutilized at Konami, but some philosophies need to change direction before great stuff can pour out of the teams once more.
