Konami + DS = ??

GS: Speaking of Boktai, how do you see the series evolving to fit either the DS or PSP?

HK: We are not thinking about PSP actually, but for DS, yes we already have this in the plan, and we have surprises that you can never imagine. And I can't tell you right now what the surprise is, but we do have a big trick up our sleeve, and you are sure to be surprised.

Look at this Lost in blue trailer , it is promising :)

Everytime I view that trailer it puts a smile on my face. This version looks alot further along than the one that was at TGS. Looking forward to it.

I managed to get in a few minutes with Lost in Blue at E3, and it definately felt like a game that I could easily spend a whole lot of time with. Of course, it wasn't the type of game that could be easily enjoyed at a trade show, but I still liked what I played and I'm looking foward to its release.

I just saw the newest trailer, (looking better than the last) this game looks fantastic & posesses plenty of potential. Castlevania, Boktai 3, Goemon, is Konami (along w/Nintendo) setting the graphical standard upon the DS? Nanostray as well looks great, I believe people are underestimating the visual appeal & capability of the DS's hw/software.

About the closing the DS for cooking...
The whole story about Konami needing to seek permission from Nintendo sounds like BS. This feature is already in a Nintendo game. I don't want to say much more, because it's actually a puzzle and you shouldn't really know this if you play the game, as it will spoil it for you.

And yes, closing the lid and sleep mode are two very separate things, as proven by the above game, Lost in Blue, and Zoo f**king Keeper, which doesn't go into sleep mode at all :(

Nooo, I figured it out, too obvious. Damn you Jonnyram. Only kidding, I hardly think the game will be ruined.

It should also be noted that, it seems that some functions can still be done while the DS is in sleep mode. If you close the DS at the song selection screen in Band Brothers, it will actually play through each song on the system entirely. The trick is you need to plug in headphones to hear the music.

Hideo Kojimi (sp) loves Nintendo and if they had any sense they would poach him and tag him and Auonoma up to replace Shigsy as over all creative genius’s

Actually, Zoo Keep does go into sleep mode. However, it only does so if you pause the game and then shut the DS.

At least, that's what my copy does.

Nah, it just shuts off the screens. And it does that even if you don't pause when you close the lid.

Interesting. Which essentially confirms the suspicion that close-clam-shell = auto-sleep, yet Nintendo had the sense to allow a software override? Still don't see why Konami would have to ask Nintendo about that, I would imagine that such commands would have been provided with the SDKs, no?

Zoo Keeper DS does not feature the close=sleep feature. If you close the clamshell the game keeps right on truckin'.

Edit - Beaten to the punch.

BTW, I'm pretty sure my copy does not "sleep" in any way. Screens or gameplay.

Heh. Ok, you're right -- I assumed the screen going off meant that the game was in sleep mode. That's weird, though -- the screens powering off would be a software function (given that the in GBA mode, the screen stays lit when shut), right? If so, why no sleep function?

This was fixed with the European version, but yes - the US version doesn't sleep.
I'm in the UK and I have the US version. ;_;
