La-Mulana 2 Kickstarter: We'll Show That You Don't Need Big Names To Make Money

I backed. I love the first game so much. I kind of hate backing anything though, I don't have that much money and putting even 15 into something I won't get for 2 years is an irritating prospect. Oh well, this is one of the very few things that could get me to back.

I'm like you, I never backed anything, but I'm seriously thinking of backing this if it is not funded near the end of the campaign.

So glad this is finally out there and I can talk about it openly!

I hope we make it pretty far down that stretch goal list! ;)
After talking with Naramura about his ideas regarding the character switch mechanic and character specific stories, I want us to at least hit those goals sooooo bad.

I hope by character switch you mean replaying the game as a different character who has different skills sort of like Julius mode in Dawn of Sorrow and not switching characters any time during the same play-through. I feel like the latter option will change the game too much and will take away from the feeling of isolation and exploration that the first La-Mulana has.

Yes, same here. That is the feature I want the most out of the stretch goals.

As someone who spent $15 on the first one the second it was available in the US, I think those stretch goals are some bullshit.

I played La-Mulana for a few hours a couple months ago and haven't yet gone back to it, but I enjoyed what I played.

In for $25.

No, they seem pretty realistic. I mean, for a thing like a bestiary, they'll probably have to hire new people or take longer to develop the game, which means they'll either be paying more money for development per month or for a longer time, which can easily add up to those kinds of figures if the salaries aren't the dirt low kind. And porting isn't some magic button push one-and-done kind of deal either. It can easily take months and months to do even when not taking into account all kinds of shenanigans happening (i.e. not getting through Sony's QA).

I wonder why amazon is still sending receipts to my old email address when I changed it months ago.

I would have rather just sent a payment directly to the devs and not have to go through amazon and kickstarter.

Gonna back this but... oh man... why this have to be a kickstarter ?:(
That's what happens when too little people buy the previous game, especially if/when a majority of that small group of people only buy it from sales & Humble Bundles and not full price.

This'll get funded in no time. Surprised it's as low as 200k.

They were going to make the game anyway, is my guess, and by making the goal only 200K they hope to ensure they get the money rather than set a higher goal and have to worry about breaking it.

They can be better than Paypal at least.

I'll back it if it looks like it'll make the PS4 stretch goal.

That's a bad way to do things. If everyone do the same as you, it's likely it'll never make it. Nothing prevents you to back it now, and then remove your backing if the final day, it's unlikely to make it.

Almost 1/8 funding already, cool. I'm breathing a bit easier now.

I would love to get a bunch of those stretch goals too. (I really would like to see Lemeza playable again, he's pretty awesome.)

I'm sure there are plenty of people who'd rather just play it on PC that will be backing it regardless. I'd rather not back it and then pull my support at the end to make them think they're going to get my money when they aren't. I only back games that are going to be released on my platform of choice.

You know, I doubt that they'll notice your removed pledge or get mad at you because you did so. But really, if you want it on PS4, back it now. If more people who wants it on PS4/WiiU/Xbox One do so, then you'll get it on the platform of your choice.

I backed it for $150. I pray to god this gets to the PS4 version, but no matter what happens, I won't withdraw my pledge, and will happily play it on PC if that's my only choice.

I went with $150 because that boxed copy of La Mulana 1 is going to be rare, rare indeed. And I would love to have it as a collector's item.

I hope this comes out on GOG and other platforms so I can buy it on those platforms as well.

I am going to celebrate this kickstarter by having spicy curry tomorrow and the day after. I will also suffer curry hell for three whole days when this hits 200,768.

I have not been very positive of this game(hated it) at all really, but I do appreciate what he is trying to do with his game, enough to give the first one another shot. From there I will see.

Backed it for $40 for now. I'm also not a huge fan of the stretch goals (not much interested in ports, and the rest often seem rather widely spread for what they are offering), but I did like the first game a lot.

The joke is that it isn't even THAT hot. Though I guess you could doctor it up, or there's a brand over there that's legitimately hot as hell.

I'm stuck in the first game. Too hard for me. But, I want to support this awesome dev. Great music, great game. Backed for $15 and best of luck, hope they make it. Gonna be rough reaching those goals. :(

Always hard for me when these appear. I want to help this happen, but I would only play it on a proper (not handheld) console. However, that stretch goal is VERY FAR AWAY, if I back it early I run the risk of not having something i can use. If I back it too late or not at all, it may harm the chances of the stretch goal being reached.

Backed. La-Mulana was a breath of fresh air for me, very difficult to progress yet very simple in style. More of these types of awesome games is good in my book.

I'm legitimaly surprised those kinds of comments didn't popped out before... usually it's in between the first 20 replies -_-
Admittedly the 21 year old protagonist looks older than her. But I guess part of that is the whole 'Murica outfit (with Japan shoutouts), whereas Mulbruk has a more petite build there.

But as I've seen noted people do age differently, and given we're in a fantasy type situation here it's probably not really worth getting worked up over.
