Lab Zero's Indivisible to feature indie guests (Shantae, Shovel Knight, Juan, & more)

Wouldn't they have to pay to license some of these characters? Does that add to their end cost?

I think licensing costs aren't necessarily a mandatory part of a licensing agreement? It sounded like these cameos were arranged on rather friendly terms. Whatever the case, I think Lab Zero can be trusted to know how to manage costs when it comes to this kinda thing.

Had a mod edit the title

I like Shantae's look a lot more in Indivisible's style

Ugh, I had forgotten white-washed Shantae was a thing for like a hot minute

But yes, she looks great in the Indivisible style <3

I don't see a difference. I can tell it's drawn by the same artist. Some of the depth's been expanded, showing his improvement, but I don't see a general style change.

Also to the person above, why the hell did you post the white washed Shantae for a comparison.

The proportions (over the entire body and just on the face itself), curves and angles all show noticeable difference.

Skullgirl's style is better than Indivisible's, but Indivisible's is still great

Was searching Half Genie Hero pics, and that was the first with a similar position to the Indivisible pic

They were actually drawn by two different artists. Alex Ahad did the original Annie drawing and I'm guessing it was Mariel Cartwright did the Indiv version? Ravidrath can probably clear that up.

Compare the joints (ankles, knees, elbows, fingers) and you'll see a pretty marked difference in how they're drawn. Also a general anatomy change across the board. Annie's head is no longer 3 times as large as her torso.

Skullgirls' style is softer. I like it much more.

Mariel adapted her to our style, since she's done a lot of work for WayForward on Shantae in the past.
You can really tell. Her Indivisible version obviously got a lot of love put into it between the shading, proportions and her facial expression. She's very cute without pandering in the slightest. It's a pleasure considering timeline images of old female characters tend to go in the complete opposite direction (see Sophitia in Soulcalibur).
Looks based on Risky's Revenge style more.

I like it, too. My favorite guest character by far.
Her design has really improved over the years. She's reclaiming her waist one or two inches at a time. :)

We have one final crossover reveal left, and... really, that's the last one.

I can't get into specific discussions, etc. but we've already talked to most everyone that people have been saying they want to see.

And if we haven't announced them, then, well... there is your answer.

Debating tomorrow or Monday.

Tomorrow would mark the final week of the campaign, but I'm leaning towards Monday so it doesn't get buried in Black Friday stuff, media not working, usual Friday news loss, etc.

Dun dun dunnnnnn. One last guest on the horizon. Get your bets in now!

No need to expect anyone else, Red is the last guest characters according to Peter/Ravidrath.
I'm pretty sure that Red is only the last character that will be announced during the campaign, not necessarily the last character.
I hate you whoever said Red from Transistor. Holy fuck I want it so bad but I know it'll never happen.
Congrats on being wrong 😉
so excited

And now Red joins the team

Echoing thoughts from the Indivisible thread. I'mokaywiththis.jpg. Her design/concept palette look great and while I wasn't asking for her, she'll make a fine addition.

I forgot we got Shantae. Awesome, that's another character I can add to my "Very much looking forward to" list.

Ehh honestly not a fan how Red translated to this artstyle.

Maybe it'll look better in motion, she had a great and distinct motion animation.
