Lara Croft to lead team of explorers and to get romantically involved with another female character

According to the alleged script, the next Tomb Raider is internally known as ‘Project Jawbreaker’, and is described as “an action adventure game set in a modern-day world rocked by a mysterious cataclysm”.

According to the alleged casting notes for Lara, the project is looking to cast an “authentic British” actress in their mid-30s “in the prototype of Emily Blunt or Rosamund Pike”, and the role will involve “romantic scenes with another female character”.

I sort of got that vibe from Sam in TR2013. Lots of doe eyedness.

But there was kinda that scene with Alex on the ship as well. I think it may just be there as part of the leak to try and trigger people.

They have to force lesbians, gays and trans in every media. Can't they just make a game that has a good gameplay and interesting story without any sexual relationship with another cast member (homosexual or heterosexual)?
Exactly. I'm fucking tired devs going the lazy route and using romance, of any kind, to be the core part of the story, or substitute it entirely, instead of a good fucking story.

Make Tomb Raider find dinossaurs and find out why they are alive, make her find an ancient alien civilization and the reason why they were on earth. A real story, instead of this novela shit.

Yeah! Exactly! After all, The video game industry is well known for having Lesbians, Gays and Trans as its lead character, right?

Sam and Lara were great friends. Not "just" friends, but actual friends. People need to get over this idea that friends can't have a close relationship without having sex.

True that.

There are very few studios capable of telling a whole story without using romantic involment. RGG studios are the best for me in that regard (they basically did it with an entire saga) - they do use love but in a much more respectable and honorable perspective that you barely notice. It's not intended to be the main flagship.

They could had perfectly given Kiryu a romantic partner along the way (they kind of hinted it in Yakuza 2) but it wouldn't fit the character for what would come next.

First of all read 2 times and then comment. I said all media, is gaming industry all media? And tell me why is Ellie (TLoU)is lesbian? Does it make any difference if she had relationship with the Asian guy or his ex girlfriend or no one, did it add anything to the story to the gameplay or to anything in general?

I never cared about the story or the lore in tomb raider, and I'm not gonna start caring because the main character eats pussy.

It doesn't matter if you've said "All media" because we're talking about a video game here and all groups you've mentioned are underrepresented in games.

Why is Ellie a lesbian? I don't know, why doesn't she have blonde hair? Why isn't she taller? Sexual orientation doesn't have to add anything to the story. Why does she have to be straight?

I always bang on about main characters with big rainbow strapon cocks in new game threads, now its actualy getting to the point the joke becomes reality. Looks like Hogwarts Legacy of all games is going to be the game for me, JK got our backs.

You are either a lesbian, gay, transexual or someone who is ally with an agenda that's why you got triggered. You read and react to what you want to see from my comment and ignore the rest. I have already answered that it did not matter if she was straight/lesbian or allien and it didn't add anything to the game but you just want to not read what I wrote for some reason.

LOL you want to talk about "triggered"? You have to be joking. You literally read a post on a forum that contains a mere RUMOR that says a character has romantic scenes with a member of the same sex and you respond in this hysterical fashion:

The mere possibility that a character in a game might be gay is enough to set you off.

Oh and for the record: You did not answer that "It did not matter if she straight or lesbian." Allow me to remind you what you actually posted:

You're here saying that games need to justify having a character be romantically involved with a member of the same sex. I know that posters like you and Nautilus will try to hide behind "No no, you've got it all wrong, I'm just against relationships in video games in general" but I can absolutely promise you that I can go over any thread on GAF about a game that has any kind of hetereosexual relationship in it and be absolutely certain that I won't find either of you complaining about it.

Would kinda make sense and fit the character well. Laura is fairly macho with all the senseless murdering she's been doing in all the latest games. Having her be into women as opposed to men would be alright.

Crazy shit get headlines but does it sell?
Yeah it’s a loose loose situation mostly, corporations make it a headline to virtue signal but by doing so they bring attention to the people/parents who would otherwise not even know or care.
Then if it tanks the only thing PR can do is call everyone homophobic when in reality most just don’t want their kids exposed to more sexualized content than is already unavoidable.

they want someone like Emily Blunt :messenger_smiling_hearts: or Rosamund Pike :messenger_grimmacing_ ? lol

and why, oh, why does Lara now need to be a lesbian?

anyway, let me guess the story...

Lara has daddy issues, hates men, wants to flick someone elses bean for a change, discovers a lost artifact/city, but OH NO...a super duper evil company/evil rich white dude with his own private army also wants to get their dirty hands on this artifact/city?!?!? well now Lara needs to beat him to it and save the world!

Ok, i leave you alone. It's waste of time to speak with you. Not only me but some other member of the forum that are "triggered" have triggered you and you want just win the conversation and I dont have the desire to make the thread about you and your corny ideas.
