Ok So I just watched The Forgotten, and I thought it was an interesting movie, and it had a good plot, until it got all
alien abduction, running experiments on us
, then movie went a little south for me.

Anyway, my question to anyone who watched the DVD is, can you explain to me what was different in the extended version with the alt. ending? Is it worth watching?

Any info would be great.

I enjoyed the movie somewhat.

I saw it blind without any expectations for the most part it seemed like a run of the mill Lifetime channel affair until...well you know...shit starts to happen and it splits into another genre.

I may give it another viewing soon.

In the alternate ending, which was the original ending, the Alien (the Friendly Guy) tries to break every single memory of Sam one by one. As Telli continues to fight against the electric barrier the Friendly Guy tells her the experiment is over and that she doesn't have to kill herself. In a bolt of lightning they are teleported into the main hanger where she is asked if she remembers the boy. She says no, then generally recites the same speach of "I had a child, his name was Sam." The Friendly Man replies that "Now the experiment is over". She goes back to her Brooklyn home to find that Sam's room is in the condition it was before Sam 'died'. She races to the playground and the rest is much like the final cut, except the camera sometimes pulls the focus over to the Friendly Man. When Telli finds Sam, she looks over at the Friendly Man as he walks away, apparently content in the fact that they are together. It continues with her introduction to Ash and the ending is the same as the final cut.
