League of Legends Championship Series: Season 6

NRG as a whole has been getting increasingly exposed as the season goes on. Moon might be struggling, but he's a rookie and there's not too many better NA replacements ATM, other than Dexter.

They'll probably get it together eventually, but I wonder if they'll make a panic move before then.

I'm 33. I have a full time engineering job at a power company. I've never gotten higher than Plat 2 in League of Legends Ranked on NA.

But would Regi hire me because I know it's a bad idea to pick Quinn into a Malphite with the last pick of the game????

I feel like Jarge is worse than Locodoco at Pick/Ban.

Been a good while since I've seen a top laner rendered so completely irrelevant as this in a standard lanes scenario. IMT picked the counterpick and backed it up with relentless pressure from Reignover and Pobelter... and TL did nothing to help Lourlo.

Damn, I thought Liquid would at least put up a fight.

Teams should have taken from C9's playbook against IMT and fought them tooth and nail at every turn. It reminds me of the old Fnatic, they just rush at you, and if you can't keep up, you'll get steamrolled. You have to get them to respect you, and teams are just rolling over.

EDIT: Pentakill. Tbh I don't like IMT on principle, I guess that makes me a hipster.

I don't like IMT because I like other teams, I guess.

I am a TSM fan and i like IMT , i like all their players, loving turtle doing good.

Well it's like if you're a ManU fan, you can't be like, "Oh I like ManCity and Chelsea too".
No, they are the ENEMIES! CAN'T LIKE!

I'm a CLG fan first, but also a GBM fan, so I'm cheering for NRG.

I don't like IMT just because I got tired of hearing how Huni and Reignover were undefeated in the last 365 days of the regular season. It's a stupid nitpick, so I don't take it too seriously. I'm glad that turtle seems to be doing well on the team because he always seemed like such a cheerful dude.

I like Immortals since it is a team of good players that got overshadowed by the supposed superstars. That and I'm enjoying the pacing of their games relative to the rest of the LCS.

gotta feel bad for Lourlo being left out to dry by his team and doing nothing to capitalize on RO camping top, and poor piglet is one of the best ADC's in NA right now but his team just isn't consistent, rough week for TL

honestly I want TL to do well this split but they just make such elementary mistakes

A good way to deal with IMT is focus on that botlane. Shut them down early, and see how RO adjusts. C9 got the right idea by playing aggressive botlane, but that 1st blood really changed the whole game.

It's an interesting theory, considering they haven't really played many games where WildTurtle didn't hard carry, and hardly any where he wasn't at least in a solid carry position. There's an open question as to whether or not they can win a game without him.

I think you're going to be looking at the (classic) SKT Problem, though, where you dump everything into shutting down Faker and then realize the other four players on the map are still better than the four counterparts on your team.

Also, Altec benched?
He asked to step down. Pretty sad about it because I like him, and they have a favorable schedule this week. Could have easily been 8-6 after the weekend.

Also bizarre because I'm pretty sure he was the one who translated the Korean. Moon is screwed now.

Nah Konkwon is translating. Konkwon is from Korea but lived most of his life in the States.

Altec is all Canadian.

I disagree, i'm pretty sure RO is the real carry of IMT.

There's not much you can do to ReignOver, though.

Bans? Are you somehow going to ban Nidalee, Graves, Gragas, Lee Sin, Rek'Sai, and Elisse? That's just the A/B List, I'm sure he's got more outside of that. There's no way to ban any halfway decent jungler in the current jungle-focused meta.

Lane focus? Trying to focus a jungler is a team effort. More than any other lane, it's basically an all-in strategy where your team just has to be flat out better in terms of coordination, skirmishing, and team-fighting than their team. If you can focus their jungler, frankly you should already be able to win the game regardless.

Match-up? I mean, he's a jungler. You can't really beat a jungler by picking against them, or even picking around them, unless they grab one of the more dubious jungle picks (hi there Rumble, are you here to be the new Jungle Karthus?).

Now i agree, Huni isn't performing really that well, so i think shutting down bot lane is the better choice. The problem is that RO is just quicker at doing moves than the enemy jungler.

BTW, RO doesn't play Lee Sin, he also doesn't play Jarvan. But it really doesn't matter now because all of his best champs are top picks.

The problem here is that there isnt a lot of jungler in NA who have a smart pathing to deal with RO, besides maybe Rush. But in both games, Rush suffered due to C9's bad early game. If you go back to MSI last year, bengi in game 5 showed us that you could shutdown RO.

Next level TF play just there by Coco for Longzhu IM against KT. He runs towards the bot lane to gank Fiora with his top laner (Flame's Gangplank) and his jungler, knowing he's been seen. The enemy jungler, Score, sees this as his cue to start a 3-man dive on the other side of the map, only TF has Teleport, and he uses it instead of his ult to counter the dive,Flame uses the GP ult to help cut the divers off, and Coco still has ult to chase down the divers. Meanwhile Flame and Chaser complete the gank on the other side of the map. They go 4-0 and essentially end the game.

I think that Huni seems like he's not performing well right now because enemy teams are investing their resources (ganks and gold, but also picks) into shutting him down, because of how effective he was at the beginning of the season. That's also why WildTurtle had several good games recently.

The double carry threat is the core of the Immortals strategy. Huni and WildTurtle are both extremely strong when ahead but tend to overextend when behind. It's very hard to shut them both down so that they're both behind. If necessary Pobelter can also represent a mid lane carry threat to divide enemy focus even more. ReignOver is responsible for keeping enemy pressure low and snowballing whoever they don't focus on.

The best plan I can come up with for beating Immortals is to have a strong mechanical bot lane, pick a strong top lane counter, and then don't be afraid to fight it out when you have the advantage. This is basically Cloud 9's strategy -- the Malphite vs. Quinn matchup almost neutralized Huni completely that game, and they ramped up their aggression to match Immortals. It was actually pretty close even with Sneaky giving up first blood at like a minute in. I think that was definitely winnable for C9. But basically it's not enough to dump all your resources into winning one lane. You really need to win either top or bottom and then stay even in the other lane, and then force and win fights.

Holy cow the damage coming out of Zilean was crazy. I thought EL was going to get wiped out under their T2 but that double domb really screwed up G2's engage.

Maybe we should call the phenomenon where a team plays for teamfights when their team is built for something else the 'Solo Queue Special'. Or 'Silver League Special'. The near alliteration sounds good and it's pretty reflective of what happens in most of my ranked games.

Edit: WELP. It was a nice try, EL. Right up until the end, anyways.

Oh shit Forgiven has to go to some sort of mandatory military service? That's terrible for him after he seems to have found a team he works well with.

I feel so bad for FORG1VEN. Finally gets to be on a great team, then Greece drafts him for 9 months of military service out of nowhere. It really sucks.

I'm so out of it. Watching IMT vs TL replay from Sunday right now...

My point though- I get so jealous when they do the 3rd person spectator mode at the beginning of a match. Would be so awesome if we can do that in spectator mode ya

I'm not sure how the 3rd person mode is built in and whether it's just some routine that causes the camera to swoop through the same parts of the map, or if someone is actually controlling it. The biggest reason I can think of that they haven't given us that power is that the engine doesn't render stuff pretty at that angle. We may just be seeing a preselected slice that Riot knows won't look bad in the engine.

That said, I agree it would be cool to have.

Most stuff isn't rendered at all if we can't see it from our regular camera angles, IIRC.

Thanks for responses btw ^

I felt so bad for TL Piglet. Funny he waited around for the Pentakill to IMT Huni (at end of the match Piglet could've flashed away but didnt)

Man it just feels like IMT is in a whole different category from average team. I'm becoming a legit IMT fan thinking to order their shirts lol.

I think G2 is trying to tilt Soaz off the face of the earth.

Solid Dodgeball reference. Could've used 'all kind of -asers' but I appreciated it regardless.

Holy shit those crits on Soaz after his TP.

I switch away from the game to focus on something else for a while because it's GIA v H2K and I come back to see them on nearly equal gold at 30 minutes. What the hell is happening.

Edit: Good lord they killed the baron so fast.
