Has anyone been able to upscale the text on the back?

So stupid isn't the Xbox controller pretty much universally loved. Makes no sense to not keep that silhouette.

This one is probably much cheaper to produce and thus sell so the barrier to entry for Xbox Cloud is lower.

Xbox Series Controllers are like 60 to 70 dollars MSRP.
This thing will likely be 30 - 40. and come with some Gamepass.
Considering you can find Series Controller for 40 - 50.......this thing will be pocket change in no time.

The "Official" silhouette aint going nowhere that shit is too iconic, I wouldnt be shocked if the Helix launches with effectively the exact same controllers.

P.S Doesnt Xbox Cloud work with your phone as the Controller already?

The worst official controller I ever bought was this but at least it kinda, sorta made sense with the Wii Virtual Console push for 16bit and earlier games.

Looking at the article it seems there is a Xbox series x controller version as well called the elite 3 which looks pretty much identical to current sticks but with an optional cloud switch. Wonder how much it would improve latency??

Will it? That's pretty good actually if true
Stadia controllers used to make latency roughly 12-18 MS better. Cloud has lots of variables obviously but that's like best case scenario.

So from my observations, 30 MS or below is required for good xCloud experience, up to 60 MS is quite playable, up to 100 MS for certain games like turn based.

So if this controller can get someone in the 40-50 range closer to 25-35 MS range, that would be really worth it.

Other factors with regards to latency is fps and datacenter location. Every doubling of fps reduces latency by 30-32%. But xCloud can't achieve 120 fps without Magnus based server hardware upgrades.

But all those things combined, more datacenters, higher fps, and D2C controller, can make things feel almost natively.

Two scroll wheels too looks like.

Whats the point of this? Xbox controllers feel great already. One of the very few things xbox is doing well. Why change this?

I figured this is what Asha was talking about when she said affordable. Attach this to anything that streams (including an Xbox One) and you have an affordable option on a box you already own.

Hopefully we can remap that shit.

Edit: Wait.....is that a button or a switch?

Its the pair button/switch thats already on Xbox Controllers right now, we just have visual indicator now.
