That's not very nice!
That's your opinion, and you're entitled to it.

I don't think we're ever going to get a game set during the flood guys.
Didn't Wind Waker pretty much fulfill that idea already anyway?
I'm just glad I was in a room alone watching it, because I would have embarrassed myself in front of other people by the way I reacted. Both the E3 and TGA videos left me in tears.
No that was post-flood
I don't think we're ever going to get a game set during the flood guys.
I didn't even realize the benefits of auto-running Epona for horseback-fights, this gives the opportunity for some really cool fights. ^^
I think it's better to leave that untouched. That was just the backstory to explain why Hyrule was submerged.
Needs two more generations before a Nintendo machine is powerful enough to render flowing water realistically enough to make it worthwhile.I don't think we're ever going to get a game set during the flood guys.
Any theories on where in time line this might be taking place?![]()
The cool about a long-running franchise like Zelda with its constants in ever-changing environments is how easy it is to imagine awesome stories like that.I've always wanted a game set hundred of years after wind waker in which link is part of a deap sea exploration team. They hear legends of a treasure at the bottom of the sea guarded by a monster, of course they say that is silly superstition but explore anyway.
Link travels down in a deep sea diving suit and comes across a monster guarding something, the king of red lions in a water dragon form! Link battles him off to find a strange stone with a beautiful sword hilt sticking out of it, Ganon and the master sword! They extract ganon and the sword, take them back to new hyrule, the sword gets pulled out and ganon is revived.
Silly I know but have this vivid image of this scene looking awesome in my mind.
My wife was in the room with me. She was entertained lol.
Your reaction sounds like the infamous Twilight Princess unveil. By the way, some of what we saw reminds me of what I FELT like when I first saw this. It's not a spoiler to say the game that came out wasn't quite what I expected.

Why would I spent hours arguing with people about my own opinion on the internet? Only idiots do that. That's what you're doing right now, arguing with my opinion. But why? What does it earn you? Where are these false accolades that get given to you for arguing against my opinion? The fact of the matter is that I'm hyped for this game, very hyped. Why do you have such a problem with that that you felt the need to reply in this way?
Let me have my moment, guy.
Your post made it sound like you were going to be running around blinded by unrealistic hype proclaiming these things as fact and expecting some things that don't stand a chance of happening (60fps). Hence why I said you're OVERhyping yourself. You can easily be hyped within the boundaries of reason.
That's nice, but stop trying to police my expectations.

Literally the perfect setup for kid's imagination running wild.
Not bad.Looking at what we know of the world it seems like the game is possibly set before TP, meaning it would take place in the Child Timeline, and thus after MM(wonder if they'll put in some easter eggs in there since it releases before Zelda U).
Some of the geography and what few landmarks we've seen suggest this. Most notably the Great Bridge of Hyrule and what we assume is Lake Hylia itself are the two biggest. That said the geography is actually almost exactly the same layout as the Hyrule of OoT and not TP which kind of messed things up a ton, with Death Mountain and Zora's Domain swapping positions and then Gerudo Valley also going from the NW in OoT to the SW in TP. Same with Hyrule Town/Castle migrating south almost to the center of Hyrule field. Shit was a mess in TP.
As you can see things match up almost perfectly and even the rivers mostly match up with the very simply waterways present in OoT. Save for now an eastern branching riving enters Lake Hylia, much like in TP, and not the westerly river that separates Hyrule Field from Gerudo's Valley in OoT.
As well it wouldn't be unsurprising to find Kakariko Village in the SW location it had in TP as there appeared to be some kind of village in that area on the map which would line up with its migration from its NE position in OoT to the SE.
This though brings up the question of the main Villain though since TP and the official timeline clearly state that Ganondorf was banished to the Twilight Realm some time after MM and did not return until TP. So that begs the question who will we be fighting in Zelda U? Someone new, another former enemy like Vaati? Or will they come up with some way to use Ganondorf again?

If you don't want someone to comment on your thoughts that you post on a forum then don't post those on a forum where people might comment on them.
I cried during that reveal too. Every time an open world Zelda is possibly alluded to in a trailer, I break down in tears. OoT captured my imagination and the TP trailer made me think we were getting a real open world. I learned from my mistake after TP to know that it's not open world unless they come out and say/show it... which they have this time.
Zelda is about exploration and adventure to me. It's about discovering secrets, finding treasures, all in a world with quirky places and people. The bigger the world, the more exploration there is to have.

So, I've never really understood one thing about the Zelda Timeline. Why is there a separate timeline for Link failing to stop Ganon?

This game doesn't look flawless.I'm glad that you're so concerned about me that you're trying to stop me getting hurt again, but I've learned my lesson after Skyward Sword. That game was a painful moment in my life and I'm not stupid enough to overhype another Zelda game without reason. This one looks flawless and I'm sticking by that.
So, if you would be so kind, back off.
Because it's a good excuse to stuff the other games & backstory (War/ALTTP/Zelda1/Zelda2).
They need a way to put the old games in their own timeline.

Couldn't agree more. Twilight Princess was good but ultimately a disappointment for me. This game, what they've shown of it so far anyway, has really captured my imagination the way that early TP footage did, and one look at the map shows they're going for the structure I'd hoped for then. Zelda 1 and 2 on NES were low-detail enough that your imagination about the landscape went wild. They've still yet to deliver on the forests they've been alluding to since a year before Ocarina even released.

Since no one really cares about the timeline new games can go anywhere they want to.Ah, okay. So it's basically understood that that timeline is used for the older games, and no one expects newer ones to go there? Or is that reaching?

Yeah, you're going to be disappointed as fuck when this game come outHate all you want. I'll have the last laugh when the game is the greatest thing ever created.
He he, could you imagine if Nintendo once again removes from this game the types of forests they showed in the Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess pre-release screenshots?
This thread's timeline is:
Excitement --> Graphics downgrade --> GTA5 hedges --> Game analysis --> Story Timeline (present)
I also believe the greatest game ever can come from this team.Yeah, you're going to be disappointed as fuck when this game come out

It a guy. You can hear the ss voice actor in the Japan video. The dearm us deadAm I the only one who sees a chest on the player model everytime it's in profile? Especially in the hilltop money shot, where as soon as Link is in profile Aonuma pulls it back and the horseback archery. If it's a guy, then it's weird musculature for a such a thin character model.
Hate all you want. I'll have the last laugh when the game is the greatest thing ever created.
